Background The East of England Agricultural Society is a registered charity with its core objective being the promotion and support of agriculture and rural life. The Society has its roots in the eighteenth century, but since the early 1960s has been based at the East of England Showground. This is a 235 acre site south of Peterborough. The East of England Agricultural Society organises and runs the Peterborough Royal Foxhound Show combined with the Festival of Hunting in mid July each year. Location The Festival of Hunting takes place at the East of England Showground. This prominent position is a stone s throw from the A1, and 15 minutes from Peterborough station with fast rail access to London and the North.The region s airports are within easy reach, including East Midlands, Birmingham, London Luton and London Stansted which are just one hour away by car or train. The Festival of Hunting attracts international visitors from as far afield as America, France and Ireland. Peterborough Royal Foxhound Show The Peterborough Royal Foxhound Show Society was founded in 1878 under the Chairmanship of the Marquis of Huntly. The first show was held under the patronage of H.R.H. the Prince of Wales K.G. and the first President was the then Earl Fitzwilliam who was also President of the Agricultural Society. The importance of the show was recognised in 1934 when H.M. King George V gave permission for the name of the Society to become the Peterborough Royal Foxhound Show Society.

Peterborough Royal Foxhound Show 2015 celebrated the 127th Peterborough Royal Foxhound Show with twenty one packs of Modern English and nine packs of Old English hounds entered. By tradition, the Peterborough Royal Foxhound Show is the highlight of the hunting calendar; the major event in its field internationally, boasting the greatest gathering of hounds in the country and an annual showcase for the world of hunting. The show is attended by the major players in the Hunting press such as Baily s Hunting Directory, Horse and Hound and The Field. The Foxhound Show is currently supported by approximately three hundred and sixty Vice Presidents, the Who s Who of the hunting fraternity with a passion for hunting and foxhounds as well as a combined high net worth. Everyone that attends Peterborough makes a huge effort to see and be seen and it is considered the Ascot of hunting. Judging takes place during the morning and afternoon in the Foxhound Enclosure and in the lunchtime break, visitors either lunch at the Vice Presidents luncheon held in The Hunt Marquee or enjoy picnics at the hound lorries, a very social event within the car parks. Festival of Hunting For the last ten years the Festival of Hunting has run alongside the Foxhound Show. The show comprises five rings for the judging of Harriers and Beagles, Drag hound and Blood hounds, Bassets and Terriers. In addition there are a number of equine classes that feature The Interhunt Relay for seniors and juniors, Ridden Hunters, Show Hunters and Ponies and a number of Hoys qualifiers. Visitor numbers have been on the increase for the past few years since the merger of the Peterborough Royal Foxhound Show and the Festival of Hunting and attracted over 6,000 to the event last year with numbers expected to increase in the future. The Festival has a wonderful atmosphere with attractive marquees and high end catering as well as numerous quality trade stands selling all that is important to hunting and the equine world. To name a few: Patey Hats, Daniel Crane Sporting Art, Davies Riding Boots, and country clothing brands such as Dubarry, Musto and Barbour.

Sponsorship Opportunities ASSOCIATION RING SPONSOR 200 + VAT To be a Sponsor of Rings 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 which hold the Harriers, Beagles, Bassets, Bloodhounds, Draghounds and Old English competitions throughout the day. This sponsorship would include the opportunity to display a company banner within the ring, the ring to be named after their company and a half page advert in the main Show programme. Located within the hub of the Show the Interhunt ring enables the sponsor to name the ring after their company, name a fence after their company, opportunity to display up to 3 banners around the ring, a full page advert in the Show programme and commentary about their company throughout the day.
