Your Fundraising Pack Thank you so much for choosing to fundraise for Forever Hounds Trust! We rely on public donations so it s people like you who allow us to keep doing the work that we do! Forever Hounds Trust is the leading greyhound rescue charity in England and Wales independent of the greyhound racing industry. We are dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and homing of abused and abandoned greyhounds and lurchers. From humble beginnings in the west of England the charity now operates nationally throughout the south west and up through to Cheshire in the north west, and across the home counties to Kent in the far south east - homing around 500 of these special dogs every year. In this booklet you will find some ideas, hints and tips to help you along the way and our fundraising team are always on hand to help too. We hope you will find the enclosed advice helpful. The money you raise will help us to continue our work rescuing and rehoming greyhounds and lurchers. GET IN TOUCH If you have any questions about your fundraising or would like support, please email us at fundraising@foreverhoundstrust.org or sponsoredevents@foreverhoundstrust.org. We can guide you in every aspect to ensure your ideas are a success! Thank you!

Inside your pack: Page 3 Page 4 Page 5 Top Fundraising Tips Our top ten tips and ideas for fundraising A Little Inspiration Some ideas to help you decide how to fundraise Money Talk How the money you raise can help, and how to pay the money to Forever Hounds Trust

10 fundraising tips to get you started 1. Start early As soon as you decide to sign up to an event or to do some fundraising for Forever Hounds Trust set a target and get going! The earlier you start the more chance you have to raise lots of money for the dogs in our care. If you reach your target early, then you can of course increase it! 2. Create a fundraising plan To help you plan how to reach your target create a fundraising plan. Think about all your social circles such as family, school, college, work colleagues, clients and clubs and the type of fundraising you could do (eg sponsorship, putting a collecting tin in a shop, etc). Then break it down into bite sized chunks. 3. Tell all your sponsors about Forever Hounds Trust Let people know why you are fundraising for Forever Hounds Trust and about our work. Anybody who wants to know more about our work can find lots of information on our website: www.foreverhoundstrust.org 4. Set up a JustGiving page Setting up a JustGiving page is just like having an online sponsor form and is free, quick and easy to do. And the best bit is that you don t have to chase people for money as the donations are transferred to us automatically. 5. Local Press Publicity in the local media is a great fundraising tool. We have fantastic PR volunteers who can write a press release for you and contact the local media, so all you need to do is provide them with a few sentences of why you are fundraising for Forever Hounds Trust and a good photo. 6. Matched Funding Many employers can match the funds you raise or will at least make a generous donation. If not, then ask if you can hold fundraising activities at work such as dress down days, raffles, cake sales, etc. 7. Do something different! If you are taking part in an event, tell your sponsors that you will take part in fancy dress if you raise over your target sponsorship amount. Then watch the donations come in! 8. Collecting tins Ask a local pub or shop if they will let you put one of our collection tins out. People s spare change soon adds up! 9. ebay or Car Boot sale Pop some of those unwanted gifts or items you don't need any more on ebay, or sell them at a car boot sale, and use the funds raised to add to your fundraising total. 10. Enjoy it! We want you to enjoy raising money for Forever Hounds Trust, so don t feel awkward asking everyone for support. Feel proud of what you are doing and the difference it will make to the many dogs Forever Hounds Trust helps.

A little inspiration Have a coffee morning There are lots of baking-related ideas, and this taps into a hugely popular hobby, and who doesn t enjoy eating the results? Find a local venue willing to host, or see if you can use your workplace, school or college canteen (great for food hygiene and safety!) and get everyone involved. The Dog-themed variety: Make all bakes for human consumption in dog shapes or with dogrelated decorations; plus: find dog-safe recipes and bake dog treats for the pooches too! (Just don t get them mixed up!) Organise a quiz at your local pub Pub Quizzes are always popular. Find a friendly local pub and ask them if you can hold a one-off or even a monthly quiz. This raises funds and awareness for FHT and gets thirsty people into pubs! This can help form a productive relationship with a local pub who may offer other ways of fundraising in the future, including a space for a regular collection tin. Give up your favourite sweets and treats Have a collection box in your house for loose change! We have an A-Z of fundraising ideas available too please request your free copy from fundraising@foreverhoundstrust.org or visit : https://foreverhoundstrust.org/support-us/sponsoredevents/
