No Fee All entry fee checks or money orders (US funds) are to be made payable to CAPER. One check is sufficient for all enclosed entries. Entries are to be mailed to: CAPER/BCKCSC, 24902 Apple Rd, Waterford WI 53185-4832. Entries must be received by 6:00 pm CDT Wednesday, October 10, 2018 after which time no entries may be accepted, cancelled, altered, or substituted. No telephone or verbal entries will be accepted. All changes and cancellations must be received in writing (email is acceptable) prior to closing, except as provided for in Chapter 11, Section 6 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows published by the American Kennel Club. All entries must be on official AKC entry forms. Entries will be returned if they are illegible, incomplete, are submitted with incorrect fees, or are photocopied without the reverse side instructions and agreement included. Checks returned for insufficient fees will have the entry cancelled; acceptance of such an entry will only be made if the full fees, plus a $25 administrative fee, are paid via certified check or money order & received prior to the start of judging. Express deliveries must include signature waiver permitting them to be left at the Secretary s address without receipt signature. Entries received without signature release will be returned. Refunds: Entry fees will not be refunded in the event of errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date; in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by the veterinarian or judge, or barred from competition by the Show Committee; or in the event that extreme weather conditions, riots, civil disturbances, or other acts beyond the control of the Show Committee make it impossible to open or complete the show/trial. Both the front & back of each entry form must be included, completely filled out and signed, or the entry will not be accepted. Payment can be made via PayPal or credit card by going to www.caper-dogs.com & clicking on the PayPal/CreditCard link. Payment must include the $2 per class additional charge to be valid. Entry Acknowledgements: To ensure the receipt of your entries, it is suggested that you include a valid email address which you regularly check on your entry form, as that will allow the Secretary to send an email receipt of entry. If you do not have email, send a self-addressed, stamped postcard or envelope with your entry, which the Secretary will return upon entry receipt. CAPER is not responsible for non-delivery of emails due to delivery errors or spam blockers, and no further efforts will be made. Judging programs and entry confirmations will be emailed to each exhibitor as soon as possible after the closing date. If the confirmation is to be sent to a person other than the dog s owner, please include with the entry the name and address or email address to which it is to be sent. Exhibitors are responsible for the correctness of entries. Any errors will be corrected prior to closing; exhibitor errors discovered after closing cannot be corrected. Overpayments of $5 or less per dog will not be refunded. Transfers of entries: Dogs which, according to their owner s records, have completed the requirements for advancement to a higher level entry in conformation, junior showmanship, obedience or rally can be transferred to the higher level at this event. Each of these transfer requests must be made to, and accepted by, the Show Secretary at least 30 minutes prior to the start of judging for that day. Class is judged on the merits of the offspring, but the parent will be examined for DQs/excusals. Offspring must be entered in a regular conformation class. Entry is made for the Stud Dog or Brood Bitch - offspring are not entered on the entry form. Special Attractions Best Veteran in Show (Saturday & Sunday) Following the conclusion of Judge s Award of Merit, the undefeated winners of the Veteran Dog and Veteran Bitch classes will compete for Best Veteran in Specialty Show. Best Puppy in Show (Saturday) Following the conclusion of Best Veteran in Specialty Show, undefeated winners of the Puppy Dog and Puppy Bitch classes will compete for Best Puppy in Specialty Show. Best Bred By Exhibitor in Show (Sunday) Following the conclusion of Best Veteran in Specialty Show, undefeated winners of the Bred-by-Exhibitor Dog & Bred-by-Exhibitor Bitch classes will compete for Best Bred-by-Exhibitor in Specialty Show. JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP Novice class: For junior handlers aged 9-17 who, at the time entries close, have not won three first place awards, with competition present, in a Junior Showmanship Novice class at a licensed or member show. Open class: For junior handlers aged 9-17 who, at the time entries close, have won three first place awards, with competition present, in a Junior Showmanship Novice class at a licensed or member show. T Master class: For junior handlers aged 9-17 who, at the time entries close, have won 10 Best Junior awards with competition to be eligible to enter the Limited Class Competition. The calendar for this class will be November 1 - October 31 of the following year. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year. PLEASE NOTE: Juniors must include their AKC Junior Handler number on the entry blank. Be sure all information for Junior Showmanship Classes is entered on the front and back of the entry form. Dogs shown in Junior Showmanship may have Full or Limited AKC registration or have an ILP/PAL number. Altered animals are eligible to be shown, but bitches in season are not eligible. FOUR-TO-SIX MONTH BEGINNER PUPPY COMPETITION The Four-to-Six Month Puppy competition shall be for Cavaliers that are four months of age but under six months on the day of the event. An AKC registration number or an AKC litter number will be required for each entry. A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin. All entrants are to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian s protocol. Professional handlers are not permitted to exhibit in this class. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs/has belonged to a professional handlers organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last 5 years. All entries must be received by the closing date. No entres will be taken at ringside. Titles - The Certificate of Merit (CM) title is an introductory title to AKC conformation events. Entrants in each breed shall compete for Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed. Winners of the Best of Breed in each of the individual breeds or varieties will be awarded points toward the CM title based on the number of dogs defeated in their breed or variety. Winners of Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed in each of the individual breeds or varieties will be awarded points toward the CM title based on the number of dogs defeated in their sex. The Certificate of Merit requires 15 points awarded in accordance with the following points structure. Dogs Competing Points: 2 dogs: 1 pt 4 dogs: 2 pts 8 dogs: 3 pts 12 dogs: 4 pts 16 dogs: 5 pts AKC NATIONAL OWNER-HANDLED SERIES The AKC National Owner-Handled Series is a non-titling competition for dogs that are exhibited by their owners that are not professional handlers. All dogs that are owner-handled and are not owned, co-owned or exhibited by professional handlers* meet the requirements for this competition. Exhibitors must declare their dogs are Owner-Handled eligible at the time of entry using the check box on the entry form. Eligible dogs will be identified by an asterisk in the steward s book & the catalog. Dogs must be handled throughout the breed level competition for the regular show by an eligible owner. Professional handlers, household members and assistants to current professional handlers may not exhibit the dog in any breed competition during the entire show. Owner-Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the dogs that are eligibe to compete in the Best of Breed competition including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and winners of the non-regular classes. * Professional handlers are not permitted to exhibit in this competition. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay. or received payment for handling a dog. 5 6

PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES Puppy Sweepstakes is open to all Cavalier King Charles Spaniels who are at least 6 months of age and under 18 months of age on the day of the Sweepstakes. Entrants must also be entered in a regular class at one of the specialty shows. Champions of Record are not eligible. Indicate the sweepstakes class, with age division, in the Additional Classes box on the entry form. SITE INFORMATION The show site will be available at 1:00 pm on Friday and at 8:00 am on Saturday and Sunday. No grooming tables, pens or exhibitors setups will be allowed in the aisles and all grooming must be done away from the judging ring in areas specified by the club. Private exercise pens are allowed in the grooming room during show hours. No practicing allowed in rings at any time. No dogs can be left on premises. Do not leave dogs in closed vehicles. Limited RV parking overnight on the show grounds for $25/night. No hook ups or electric. LIABILITY: It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the Show Committee, be asked to leave the show site. In such cases, no refund of any fees paid will be made. The club and its agents, employees, etc. will assume no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors or handlers, or to any of their dogs or property, & further assume no responsibility for injury to children. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian s recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasite, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations. The Badgerland Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive or may remove any dog on account of disease, viciousness or other causes, and no one shall have any claim or recourse against the Badgerland Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club or any official thereof. RINGSIDE: Dogs may arrive at any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused. Judges will not wait for any dog. Owners and agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs at ringside when their class is called. The club, judges, stewards and secretary have no obligation or responsibility to announce for or locate dogs that are not at ringside when required. 7 8
