The Poultry/Rabbit Show follows the 4-H rules and guidelines. Open to all 4-H members & Cloverbuds in District VII (Citrus, Hernando, Marion, Sumter); District VIII (Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Volusia); District IX (Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota); District X (DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Highland, Okeechobee); District XI (Brevard, Indian River, Martin, St. Lucie) Showmanship Skill-a-thon > There will be contests going on during the Judging for both Poultry & Rabbits Relay for Knowledge Judges: Poultry Mike Schmidt Rabbits Thelma Thompson Rules for Poultry and Rabbit Check in Saturday, November 14, 2015..7:30AM-9:30AM. **All animals must be in cages before 10:00AM. FOOD/WATER: Youth to provide own food, water, and containers. 3. DRESS CODE: Blue or Black jeans-no holes. White collared shirt or Club T-shirts tucked in, boots or brogans. 4. AC/HEAT: There is no AC or Heat. 5. NO hay is allowed in the pens. 6. No one shall handle birds or rabbits except the animals owner, the judge or a member of the show committee. 7. Parents are NOT allowed in the show ring while the rabbits are being Judged. Parents may stay on other side of barrier to take pictures. 8. ONLY 4H members are allowed to assist another 4H member with their rabbit IF they have 2 rabbits in the same Class. 9. Per STATE 4H RULES: Cloverbuds are NOT allowed to be help any 4H members in Youth Age Groups that are being Judged: This would consider them "being Judged" which is NOT permitted under the 4H guidelines concerning Cloverbuds. Cloverbuds may participate in a Non-Judged show with their age group and receive a participation ribbon. 10. Nothing may be placed in or around show cages without the approval of the show committee. 11. The Committee will take every precaution against loss or mishap, but will not be held responsible should any occur. Your participation constitutes your agreement to hold harmless the Kissimmee Livestock Show & Fair, Facilities, 4H & Committee from claims and losses.

12. The Show Committee will adjudicate issues not covered by the show rules. The Show Superintendant shall chair the committee. Show Committee has final jurisdiction on all matters. 13. The Show Committee reserves the right to coop exhibits as it sees fit. 14. No animals will be released before the end of the show. 15. Any animal left at the show will be disposed of at show management s discretion. 16. All animals must be healthy and in proper-size transport cages to ensure the birds or rabbits well-being. 17. Parents - children must be under the supervision of an adult at all times. 18. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: All animals will be required to meet the guidelines set by the State of Florida, Department of Agriculture. 19. Animal Eligibility: Birds need to be at least 6 months old and rabbits need to be at least 3 months old by show time. Exhibitors will need to be able to handle their birds and rabbits. No classes are provided for Peacocks or cross breeds for poultry or rabbits. 20. Cloverbuds receive participation ribbons only. May only enter up to two birds and/or two rabbits. 21. TEAR DOWN everyone is to help tear down at the end of the show. If everyone helps it will be quick. Thank you for assistance, it is GREATLY APPRECIATED. Poultry 1. HEALTH REGULATIONS: Regarding NPIP testing requirements; poultry require pullorum and typhoid testing for birds on exhibition. There are two ways for exhibitors to meet this requirement: (1) birds can be tested prior to the show and a copy of the paperwork provided at check in and the NPIP # to be written on the entry form, or (2) birds without paperwork will be tested free of charge at check in. 2. Poultry are required to be free of disease, parasites and mites. Poultry not free will be disqualified 3. The show committee reserves the right to remove birds showing signs of disease or parasites. 4. Evidence of faking will result in all of the exhibitor s entries barred from competition and entry fees forfeited. 5. Birds will be judged in their pens. If the pen is locked or the bird is not accessible to the judge, the bird will not be judged. 6. There is no judging for trios, peacocks, or crossbreds. 7. Classification is by breeds. There is a commercial class that is only open to the White Leghorn, Sexlink, White & Barred Plymouth Rock, and Rhode Island Red. 8. The American Standard of Perfection will be the guide of the judges in placing of birds. 9. Decision of the judges will be final, and no appeal will be considered. 10. Only blue ribbon birds will be eligible for Best of Breed. 11. Coops used in transporting live birds to the fair shall not be allowed inside the exhibit tent. Example: Bantam (B), Large Fowl (LF), Duck (D), Goose (G), Quail (Q), Turkey (T), Guinea Fowl (GF), Other (O), COMMERCIAL (C) Rabbits Breed (Bearded, Non-Bearded, SC, RC but only if it applies with the breed) Variety (Color-Black, White, etc.) LF Plymouth rock Barred Cock Sex/Age Cock, Hen, Cockr el, Pullet, Male, Female 1. This show is held in accordance with the Show Rules of the American Rabbit Breeders Association, Inc. 2. Rabbits are classified by breed and age. Awards: All Rabbit Breeds - Junior (3 6 months) Rabbit Breeds with weight under 9lbs - Senior (6 months and older) Rabbit Breeds with weight over 9lbs - Intermediate (6-8 months) Senior (8 months and older) 3. Rabbit tattoo in the ear is recommended but not required at this time. If rabbit has a tattoo, the number is to be recorded on the entry form. 4. Awards must be picked up the day of the show. 5. This is a Youth Show and is NOT a sanctioned ARBA show so there are no legs that will be recorded. 6. Judging assignments are not made until the day of the show. A judging schedule will be posted the day of the show. Each exhibitor is responsible to carry his or her rabbit(s) to the judging table at the proper time. Exhibitors are responsible to make sure their rabbits are taken to the judging area when called. Posted schedules are subject to change. Be sure to watch carefully so that you do not miss your class. Entry fees are non-refundable and classes cannot be judged over.

CHECK-IN and INSPECTION Upon arrival, please go directly to the Barn Area of the KVLS Building to check in at the Show Secretary s tables. BIRDS and RABBITS MUST NOT BE PLACED INTO THEIR SHOW CAGES PRIOR TO CHECK IN. You will be instructed where to go from there. The only person who may handle a bird must be the owner, show staff or designated judge. If you see someone handling or transporting a bird that is not clearly designated as the exhibitor/owner, please immediately contact the Show Committee. At all times youth are to behave in a manner befitting a 4-H er on exhibition. Poor sportsmanship, interference with Judge s, use of profane language, interference from leaders, parents, or anyone in the audience, etc., will result in forfeiture of placing and may result in removal from events. Please be courteous and respectful to everyone. INFORMATIONAL POSTERS 3. Youth may enter posters for poultry, rabbit, or both. 4. The top 3 in each division, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior divisions will receive ribbons. All Cloverbud entries exhibited will receive a participation ribbon. 5. Posters can be 22 x 28 or 22 x 14. 6. Data on the poster is to be related to poultry or rabbits and is to be informational. 7. Poster must be turned in at time of check-in. 8. Posters may be decorated with paint, feathers, paper, crayons, yarn, etc. 9. Posters must be completed by the exhibitor. COSTUME CONTEST 3. Bird/Rabbit must be entered in the Poultry Rabbit Show and can only be shown by registered exhibitor. Limit 1 entry per exhibitor either poultry or rabbit. 4. Youth must enter the costume contest on the original registration form. (If you choose to withdrawal from the contest please do so at check-in). 5. Exhibitors are to dress in accordance with the bird/rabbit s costume. Entry may be a fashioned outfit, either created or bought. Dress the bird/rabbit in the best costume you can think up! 6. All costumes must be attached to the animal in a safe, non-binding way, and is non-harmful to the bird/rabbit. 7. Entries will be judged on creativity, style, and originality. 8. A 50 word or less narrative is to be turned into the Committee Member prior to the start of the event. 9. Participation Ribbons only - 1st, 2nd & 3rd places in each class. All Cloverbud entries exhibited will receive a participation ribbon. 10. HAVE FUN!!

EGG DÉCORATING CONTEST 3. The top 3 in each division, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior divisions will receive ribbons. All Cloverbud entries exhibited will receive a participation ribbon. 4. Only one egg per exhibitor. 5. Egg must be turned in at time of check-in. 6. Eggs may be decorated with paint, feathers, paper, crayons, etc. 7. Eggs must be decorated by exhibitor. 8. Please check with the 4-H office or Poultry Committee for safe way to handle egg. Egg Show ENTRIES 3. There shall be no identification marks on the eggs but an Egg Information Card must be attached to each carton. 4. Eggs must be turned in at time of check-in with a completed Egg Information Card attached. 5. Limit One Dozen eggs per exhibitor. EGG SPECIFICATIONS 1. All eggs shown must be chicken eggs and selected by the exhibitor. They need not be produced by exhibitor's flocks. 2. Eggs are not to be purchased from a grocery store. 3. All eggs must be entered as a single dozen. An Egg Information Card must be filled out and attached to the carton. Limit One Dozen eggs per exhibitor. 4. There will be a Pee Wee (X-Small), Small, Medium, Large Extra Large and Jumbo Class. Provided enough eggs entered, they may be broken down by white or brown. Pee Wee (X-Small) eggs shall average not less than 15 ounces per dozen. Small eggs shall average not less than 18 ounces per dozen. Medium eggs shall average not less than 21 ounces per dozen. Large eggs shall average not less than 24 ounces per dozen. Extra Large eggs shall average not less than 27 ounces per dozen. Jumbo eggs shall average not less than 30 ounces per dozen. 5. A dozen eggs of minimum average weight for the class shall receive as many points, other things being equal as a dozen eggs of maximum average weight for the class. 6. Eggs will be judged on interior as well as exterior quality. DISPLAY AND JUDGING 1. The Superintendent of the Youth Poultry & Egg Show will see that the exhibits are properly displayed. 2. Judging will be done on same day of the Show. Results will be shown at the end of the day. 3. The eggs become the property of the Show. 4. The top 3 dozen eggs for each group will receive ribbons. All Cloverbud entries exhibited will receive a participation ribbon. Relay for Knowledge Competition The Relay for Knowledge is a fast paced quiz bowl. This Relay is for individuals and is strictly for fun. Four people line up. The question is asked for poultry or for rabbits depending on the group in front of the Moderator. The person who presses the button first is to answer the question. If correct the youth will receive a prize. All participants then get back in line. The next group of four steps forward and the procedure is repeated again. The competition runs as time permits.

Rules: Bunny Races 3. Each exhibitor may enter only one rabbit in the contest. 4. Exhibitor must preregister for the race on the entry form. 5. The contest is open to any breed of rabbit. There is no age division for this contest. 6. The winner will be the exhibitor whose rabbit completely crosses the finish line first in each heat. 7. The winner of each heat will race again for overall champion, second place, and third place. 8. No Premiums No Ribbons The exhibitor must race his/her own rabbit. All rabbits must remain behind the starting line prior to start of the race. Exhibitor must stay behind the starting line. Exhibitors cannot touch their rabbits during the race. Clapping or verbally encouraging the rabbit is allowed. Exhibitors will be disqualified if they touch their rabbit after the race has started. Exhibitor/rabbit will be disqualified if the rabbit jumps into another lane. Exhibitors are not allowed to walk on the race track. Volunteers will catch rabbits at end of the race. Show Box Knowledge 3. Exhibitor must preregister for the contest on the entry form. 4. The top 3scores in each division, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior divisions will receive ribbons. All Cloverbud participants will receive a participation ribbon. No Premiums Ribbons only 5. In the event of a tie a tie breaker will be done. Rules: A show box (plastic tub) will be provided on the table. Items/tools will be placed on the table that you may or may not bring to a show Whether the show is for one day or a week there are items you may or may not bring to a show. A separate Grooming Box will not be provided, but you may put what you would normally have in a grooming box into the show box. Both poultry and rabbit items/tools will be laid out on the table Exhibitor is to tell the Judge if they are doing for poultry or rabbit. **Exhibitor may do both but only one at a time and may need to wait for the next turn. Exhibitors will choose from the items on the table what they would put into their show box. As the items are being placed in the box the exhibitor is to give the name of the item and why they would put the item in their show box. Poultry: Cloverbuds need to know at least 6 items that would go into their show box. Juniors need at least 10 items. Intermediate need to know at least 15. Seniors need to know at least 20. Rabbit: Cloverbuds need to know at least 6 items that would go into their show box. Juniors need at least 10 items. Intermediate/Seniors need to know at least 15. Rules: Parents and youth not taking the skill-a-thon are NOT allowed to be in the room with the youth who are taking the skill-a-thon tests. There will be someone to help read to the youth if needed. Only youth participating in showmanship are to be in the designated showmanship area. Youth need to be able to handle their own animal while waiting their turn. BREEDER BIRD & RABBIT AUCTION BREEDERS, STARTED, ADULTS Wanted - birds that are not culls, but come from show quality parents or have been determined to be show quality birds. The pens of started or adult birds will be judged prior to the auction by Poultry Judge. Breeder and bird information will be announced as each pen is auctioned. SILENT AUCTION We are planning a Silent Auction which will be held in main room. 4H Clubs are invited to participate with baskets, ½ of the proceeds will be given to the 4H Club that provided the basket. The remainder of the proceeds will be used to fund the Poultry Rabbit Show for 2014. Donations are greatly appreciated. This year you ll find a nice assortment of donations from local businesses and vendors. Donated items not in like-new condition, missing pieces, chipped, or worn out will be withheld from the raffle. POULTRY & RABBITS SALES TABLE Tables are available for the sale of poultry and rabbits OR related items (Prior Approval Must Be Received in writing by the Chairman). Poultry owners must present a NPIP card prior to selling birds. NO crossbred rabbits or poultry is permitted. Any parties who bring crossbreds in to sell will be asked to remove the animal(s). Cages to sell are to be brought by seller. Cost is $10.00 per table (space is limited). No refund. NO FOOD, DRINKS or SNACKS can be sold anywhere but ARE AVAILABLE AT THE FOOD BOOTH FOR PURCHASE. FOOD BOOTH The food booth will be open throughout the day for food and drinks. Donations are appreciated. ALL MONIES GO INTO THE PROGRAM TO BENEFIT THE YOUTH. ****All monies go back into the program to benefit the youth.
