The New Office: FSVO
Project Mandate (December 2012) Objective The two organizational units FVO and Food Safety Department of the FOPH are merged so that existing synergies can optimally be used and existing and new tasks can be done best Mandate FVO and Food Safety Department are merged in a new Federal Office. The organizational structure supports optimally the services and processes of the new Office and reduces interfaces 8

FSVO The FSVO is the Swiss federal centre of excellence for the fields of Food safety Nutrition Animal health Animal welfare and Species conservation in international trade. It is responsible for Swiss national law, supports uniform implementation in the cantons, provides the necessary information to the public and promotes applied research within its area of activity. 13
