SCHEDULE OF EVENTS Thursday 14 June: Heath Check: Each entrant must present their dog for an examination on Thursday, 14 June 2018. Times to be finalised. The examination will be at Brackenfell Rugby Club. Females in heat will be examined for their season and a standard physical fitness test for all dogs will be held. The dog will be required to jump on to a table (height 80 cm) without physical support from the handler. Dogs which can t perform this jump are not permitted to take part in the competition. Practice Sessions at Brackenfell Rugby Club: Practice times will be finalised once all entries are in. Each competitor will receive 5 minutes for their obedience practice and 5 minutes for their protection work practice All Official Helpers will be available on Practice Day, Thursday 14 June 2018.
Draw Evening: Dinner and Competitors Draw will take place at Urban Courtyard, Cobble Walk, Durbanville (approx 4km / 10 minute drive) Time: 18h00. Dinner will include a Gourmet Burger served with Hand Cut Chips or Salad. Cash Bar available. Free for all competitors and R100.00 for all guests to be paid in advance along with entry fee. Friday 15 June: TRACKING DAY: Tracking to take place on the outskirts of Stellenbosch region +/- 15km from Brackenfell Rugby Club. Directions will be provided at the Draw Evening. Competitors must report to the check in 45 minutes before their tracking flight starts. Please give yourself ample time to travel to the tracking grounds, making allowances for traffic in the area. Tracking conditions: plough earth with the possibility of slight vegetation growth. Saturday 16 June: OBEDIENCE DAY: Obedience @ Brackenfell Rugby Club Social Evening Brackenfell Rugby Club @18:30, We invite all competitors, spectators and officials to join us for a spit braai, @R180pp Sunday 17 June: PROTECTION WORK DAY Protection @ Brackenfell Rugby Club All Protection Work will be done in order of de-merit. (Lowest score will work first) Prize Giving Ceremony: Will be held at the completion of the Championship at Brackenfell Rugby Club.
TEAMS Provincial Teams: Provincial Teams must be stated by the Provincial Organisation before the closing date. A team comprises four IPO 3 members, with the best three scores to count. Club Teams: Only two Club Teams from each Club, comprising of two members each, may be eligible for this award. National Team Candidates for 2018: Any potential World Championship Qualifying Entrants must please ensure that their dogs comply with the veterinary requirements for entry into the EU! Requirements: Rabies Titre Test certificate (issued by Onderstepoort), De-worming, tick and flea treatment certification. This is in addition to their regular vaccination regimen. It is advised to do the Rabies Titre test in advance of the National Championships as significant delays can be experienced if the dog s antibody levels are too low and it requires re-vaccination and retesting. It is the handler s responsibility to ensure that these documents are obtained timeously. Failure to do so will prevent your participation in the World Championship. Handler Sport Medal Awards: Any handler who believes they are eligible for one of these awards must please submit their application by no later than 1 May 2018. Please note: The Trial Manager and/or organisers reserve the right to remove any spectator from the grounds for disruptive behaviour or for interfering with the judge, competitors or other spectators. Any entrant found on the tracking or obedience/protection work grounds 4 weeks prior to the event will be disqualified. Competitors must report to the check in 10 minutes before their obedience and protection work times. Dog equipment control check will be done before the start of each discipline. Tattoo / Microchip verification will be done at the completion of each discipline. Start times for each discipline will be determined by the number of entries received. They will be confirmed and published once all entries are finalised. The Organisers reserve the right to alter times, venues or officials should it be necessary. The Championship will be run according to WUSV IPO rules, as adopted by the GSDFSA in March 2012.
