Dissecting a Term Dissect or separated them to define their meanings Prefix is at the beginning of the word Root word gives the team its essential meaning. A term may have more than one root word. Suffix is at the end of the word Combining vowel allows for certain terms to be pronounced more easily. Usually the letter o but can be any vowel. Common Root Words
