MAKE YOUR OWN EASTER TERRARIUM WHAT YOU LL NEED Glass bowl, vase or jar Funnel Sand Spoon Potting mix Easter chicks Stones big & small Small Easter eggs Small plants (succulents & cacti work best) 1 5 Start with clear glass bowl, vase or jar. Using your funnel, line the base of your vessel with sand. Add a layer of stones approx.5cm high to help with drainage (we ve used a mix of big and small stones). Add a layer of soil deep enough for plant roots, use a spoon to spread around. Remove the largest plant from its container and dust excess soil off the roots. Using the end of a spoon, make a hole in the soil big enough for the roots and nestle the plant inside, pressing the soil down firmly to hold it in place. We recommend placing taller plants at the back. Tip: Use a paper towel to transport prickly cacti. Continue planting the rest of the succulents, working from largest to smallest. It s easiest to start at the back of the container and work your way forward. Finish with some landscaping. Place a large feature rock or a few additional pebbles here and there to complete the look. For a bit of Easter fun, add some Easter chicks, a bunny or small Easter eggs. Tip: Succulents like direct sunlight every day. Lightly water the base every two weeks or once the soil dries out. 9
