If, at the end of the 90 day period, the championship of a dog has not been confirmed by AKC, no further entries of the dog for Best of Breed competition are to be made until its championship has been confirmed by AKC. GRAND CHAMPION JUDGING PROCEDURE On May 12, 2011 the Grand Championship competition will start concurrent with the implementation of the 2010-2011 Schedule of Points. Competition for this new title will be judged concurrently with Best of Breed/Variety competition at both allbreed and specialty shows. All Champions of record that are eligible to be entered in Best of Breed/Variety competition, are automatically entered in competition for points toward the Grand Champion title when they are entered in the Best of Breed/Variety class at a dog show. Dogs and bitches that have earned their Championship and moved up to the Best of Breed/Variety as well as winners from the *Non Regular classes would be eligible to compete on the day. Neither Winners Dog nor Winners Bitch is eligible to compete for Grand Champion points. There are no additional entry fees or cost to exhibitors for the participation in this competition at AKC events. The Grand Champion competition is an extension of the traditional system to earn an AKC Championship on a dog. It is simple, similar in format to that used to finish a dog, and, because it focuses exclusively on competition at the breed level, it will add minimal time to the current judging process. The Best of Breed/Variety judge will award Best of Breed/Variety, Best of Winners, Best of Opposite Sex, *Select Dog and *Select Bitch. This is simply adding two placements and two additional ribbons for the Select Dog and Bitch to be awarded. Judges may withhold any Grand Champion awards at their discretion. The Best of Breed/Variety judge will be required to certify that awarding of Grand Championship points are to eligible and deserving dogs. *Non Regular class winners that are not Champions of Record are not eligible to be awarded Grand Championship points and any points awarded would have these points disallowed administratively by the AKC. The Select Awards have no relationship or correlation to Awards of Merit and judges should continue to review the premium list for criteria in making these awards. NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES STUD DOG CLASS: For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. Stud Dogs must be entered in Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their Get. Get only to be judged based upon the merits of the Get. Get must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed or other Non-Regular class. BROOD BITCH CLASS: For Brood Bitches and two of their Produce. Brood Bitches must be entered in Brood Bitch Class and must be shown in the ring with their Produce. Produce only to be judged based upon the merits of the Produce. Produce must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed or other Non-Regular Class. As the judge s decision in the Stud Dog/Brood Bitches and Brace Classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won the class. BRACE CLASS: For two Pomeranians with identical ownership. If a dog which is part of a brace is not entered in any of the regular classes, it must be entered for Brace Only. A dog entered in a regular class and entered as part of a brace, must be marked accordingly in the space provided for Additional Classes. Entry forms must be submitted together. SPECIAL AWARDS AWARDS OF MERIT: At the conclusion of Best of Breed, after picking Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed, the Specialty Judge at his/her discretion may award Rosettes for Judges Awards of Merit to a maximum of 10% of the Best of Breed entry. The judge is not obligated to award any Awards of Merit if he/she feels there are not any dogs or bitches in competition worthy of this award. All dogs competing in the Best of Breed competition are eligible for this award with exception of the Bred of Breed winner. BEST PUPPY FROM THE REGULAR CLASSES: Best Puppy will be selected from the first place winners of the 6-9 mos. and 9-12 mos. Classes, Dogs & Bitches. BEST BRED-BY-EXHIBITOR (BBE) Best Bred by Exhibitor will be selected from the First Place Winners from the BBE Dog and Bitch Classes. BEST VETERAN: will be selected from the First Place Winners of the Veteran Dog and Veteran Bitch Classes. PARADE OF TITLEHOLDERS: All Pomeranian AKC Champions of Record are eligible to enter this Parade of Titleholders. An entry fee of $15.00 will be charged. Each dog will receive a rosette offered by COAPC. This is a non-competitive class. 6 Trophy Sponsorship 2018 Placement Donation 30th 31st Best of Breed $ 55.00 Kayra Poms Best Opposite Sex $ 45.00 Sunglo Poms Best of Winners $ 35.00 Winners Dog $ 25.00 Winners Bitch $ 25.00 Daniel Yona Reserve Winners Dog $ 20.00 Reserve Winners Bitch $ 20.00 Award of Merit $ 25.00 Best BBE $ 25.00 Placement Donation 30th 31st 6-9 Month Puppy Dog $ 25.00 9-12 Puppy Dog $ 25.00 12-18 Month Dog $ 25.00 Bred by Exhibitor Dog $ 25.00 American Bred Dog $ 25.00 Open (Black, Brown, Blue) Dog $ 25.00 Open (Red, Orange, Cream, Sable) Dog $ 25.00 Open (Any other allowed color) Dog $ 25.00 6-9 Month Puppy Bitch $ 25.00 9-12 Puppy Bitch $ 25.00 12-18 Month Bitch $ 25.00 Bred by Exhibitor Bitch $ 25.00 American Bred Bitch $ 25.00 Open (Black, Brown, Blue) Bitch $ 25.00 Open (Red, Orange, Cream, Sable) Bitch $ 25.00 Open (Any other allowed color) Bitch $ 25.00 Donna J Placement Donation 30th 31st Veteran Dog $ 20.00 Veteran Bitch $ 20.00 Stud Dog $ 20.00 Brood Bitch $ 20.00 Brace $ 20.00 Team $ 20.00 SEE PAGE (5) FOR MAILING INSTRUCTIONS, THANK YOU!!!!!! 11
