WWW.GMBCBRITTANYCLUB.COM Effective August 1, 2012, two changes have been made to the Rules covering Pointing Breed Hunting Tests by the AKC. 1) Only 1 of the 2 Judges will now be able to judge the same test level on consecutive days or consecutive back-to-back events. 2) Bitches in season are now allowed to enter but it s up to the discretion of the host club. Come join us at the Greater Milwaukee Brittany Club Fun Field Trial. This is a great opportunity to meet other club members and exercise the dogs. SENIOR STAKE: 8:30 A.M. This is a 10 year or older dog stake. It is to be judged on the dog s ability to hunt, handle and point birds. Judgment stops when the bird is flushed. Hearing aides, diapers and tracking collars welcome, but e-collars the dog cannot be placed. SHOOTING DOGS: For dogs 6 months and older. The dog must give a finished performance, point staunchly, and be steady to wing and shot. HUNTING DOG: For dogs 6 months and older who DO NOT have an adult AKC placement. The hunting dog must establish and hold point until the handler flushes the bird(s). Steadiness to wing and shot is not required. DERBY: The derby dog must establish point, but is not judged for steadiness to wing and shot. Blanks fired if bird contact is made. PUPPIES: For puppies 6-15 months. Blanks fired if bird contact is made. DIAPER DERBY: For puppies under 6 months of age. Firing blanks is not required or encouraged. ENTRY FEES: All stakes are $12.00 per dog except diaper derby which is $5.00 birds will be provided in all stakes. (If trial becomes a training session, fee will remain the same to cover the cost of birds). Please register early so we can plan for the number of birds to purchase. However, don t stay home because you forgot to register we ll register you at the trial. Entry Fees $32.00 Per Team The Find, Flush & Fire, (FFF) is an annual club fun event. You and your partner get 20 minutes, and 6 shells each, to try and get 4 Chukars. You can only shoot birds that your dog points, and the less time and shells used, the higher your score. You must pre-enter, so that we know how many birds to buy. If you don t have a teammate, you can still enter, and we will try to match you up with someone. Official Rules and Regulations Two handlers and one or two dogs per team (no more that two dogs) Each dog may only be entered one time Each handler is allowed six shells no larger than #6 shot A point must be established on each bird All birds must be shot over your, or your partner s dog Any non-flying birds retrieved by your dog will be counted, and one shell deducted Birds may be shot by either team member Time will stop after four birds are shot and in hand, or a maximum of 20 minutes are reached Official score will be determined by the time keeper A stop to flush will count as a point, ONLY if the dog holds until shot is fired If your dog is on point, and your only shot is toward the gallery, wave your hat and yell safety. A safety will be counted as 1 bird in hand, and 1 shell used A blaze orange cap or vest is required A beeper collar or bell is allowed, NO training collars permitted during competition For your safety, there will be NO running in the field with a shotgun; brisk walk is acceptable.

THE DOG-GONE NEWS! Page 7 Greater Milwaukee Brittany Club Meeting Minutes from July 20th 2013 The Greater Milwaukee Brittany Club held a General Membership meeting on Saturday, July 20, 2013. It was held at the Ottawa Field Trail Grounds in Eagle WI and the meeting was held in conjunction with the annual club picnic and a training day. The meeting was called to order by President Rich Lamb at 12:30pm. Secretary s Report: Jeff Jar, present; the meeting minutes from the last meeting on June 18th were distributed and read. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Ned Warner, and seconded by Jeff Stanton, and all were in favor. Treasurers Report: Dave Unti, absent. No Report. 1st Vice President: Sam Thompson, present. Fall Field Trial is approved by the AKC, the ribbons were ordered; Need volunteers to assist with the trial at Bong, contact Sam or Rich Lamb. 2nd Vice President: Debbie Jagielski, present. Distributed premium for the GMBC Specialty show, the show is Saturday August 10th at Grant Park in Cudahy WI, Entries will close on Wednesday July 24th 2013, We need raffle baskets for the show, the club will have its own tent this year, will be set up on the south side of the show rings where we always set up. 3rd Vice President: Julie Asmus, present. Picnic today, will call Alioto s for the banquet in the next few weeks to reserve space. We will have a bar in the room again this year. 4th Vice President: Jeff Teuteberg, present. Training day today, need to make sure if you plan to attend, that you notify Jeff so we can get the correct number of birds for training. Next training day is Thursday, September 5th at Bong; training will start at 5pm. Bong Rep: Sam Thompson, present. Work is still being done on the 5 year plan, there was a meeting on July 2, 2013, with the Association, the DNR, Parks Commissioner and Scott Gunderson, discussed, camping by the buildings we use for the field trial, mowing issues, and park use, certification on DNR equipment for mowing was cancelled due to equipment failure. Will be rescheduled. Ottawa Rep: Sam Thompson, present. Approval was given for the West Side of HY 67, fence project, the plan is to start the fence in the next 60 days, the fence will make it available for clubs to use it for events, and to have events on both West and East location at the same time, there is a plan to add toilet facilities and a building in the future. OLD BUSINESS: Jeff Jar, Pheasant fest in Milwaukee February 14th, 15th and 16th 2014, we reserved a booth for the event, we completed the purchase online and the ABC will be sending a check to the GMBC for ½ of the booth rental. Jeff Jar will be heading the planning committee with Ken Merk, will need volunteers to man the booth. Dogs are welcome to bring to the booth. The Club will hold the annual Find Flush and Fire event and Fun Field Trial on Saturday and Sunday August 24th and 25th 2013, Come out and participate, contact Chris Sennott to sign up. NEW BUSINESS: New Warner made a motion that the club donated $800 to the Ottawa fence project, with the Treasurer not in attendance, we will table the discussion at the next meeting when we have a balance in the treasury. Page 8 The name of the Club shall be the Greater Milwaukee Brittany Club, Inc., a regional club of the American Brittany Club, Inc., and GMBC will be hosting a booth at the 2014 Pheasants Forever Pheasantfest. The event will be held in Milwaukee at the Delta Center downtown on February 14, 15 and 16 th of 2014. We will need volunteers to assist with the booth. Contact Jeff Jarmuskiewicz (jeffjar2000@gmail.com) for booth scheduling. We would love to have your brittany attend also.
