DOGS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER This event is open to all dogs four (4) months of age or older that are registered with the American Kennel Club through the Foundation Stock Service (FSS). Dogs should be physically sound. No dog shall be judged if it is taped, bandaged, glued, or stitched anywhere, including ears or tail, in any way or has anything attached to it for medical purposes. JUDGE Saturday, September 27, 2014 for all evaluations and selection Mr. Jan degids Schiedam, Netherlands Jan degids began his love affair with French herding breeds in the early 1970 s. He and his wife have owned and bred Beaucerons for over40 years. As a lover of French herding breeds, Mr. degids became a judge for the Berger Picard in 1985. He was one of the founders of the National Beauceron Club in the Netherlands. He has recently judged the Swiss Berger Picard National. Photography by Paul Payne Paul Payne will be providing the photographs for the Elevage book. He will be doing win photos on Sunday for the Open Show, too. CGA and CGCA TESTING Cindy Bradley and Leanne Chase, Testors The Canine Good Citizen Test is an earned certificate by AKC to promote responsible dog ownership and to encourage the training of well mannered dogs. Please RSVP! The evaluation consists of ten objectives. All items must be completed satisfactorily or the team fails. Test items include: Accepting a friendly stranger. Sitting politely for petting. Allowing basic grooming procedures. Walking on a loose lead. Walking through a crowd. Sitting and lying down on command and staying in place. Coming when called. Reacting appropriately to another dog. Reacting appropriately to distractions. Calmly enduring supervised separation from the owner. Schedule for the weekend Saturday: Evaluations will be scheduled 10 minutes apart starting at 8 am. Please comply with the schedule so that the judge will be able to stay on schedule. DIRECTIONS Columbus All Breed Training Club is located at 2164 Williams Road, Obetz, Ohio 43207. It is located off the southeastern section of the I 270 beltway around Columbus, Ohio. There is a lot of construction on the highways through the center of Columbus so avoid these if coming from the north. Exit 49 off of I 270 and turn left onto Alum Creek Drive. Follow Alum Creek Drive for about 1.3 miles. Turn left onto Williams Road. Show grounds will be on the right. From the Comfort Inn: Head south on Old Rathmell Ct/Rathmell Rd. At the traffic circle, take the 1 st exit onto Groveport Rd. Take the next right (.1 mile) onto Alum Creek Drive. Take a slight left (.4 mile) to stay on Alum Creek Drive. Turn left onto Williams Road (1.1 miles). Show grounds will be on the right. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Overnight Parking Campers and RV s are welcome to park at the show site on Saturday night. However there are no hook ups or dumping of sewage.
Attention Exhibitors SHOW SITE Show site is available to exhibitors after 7:00 AM on Saturday, September 27, 2014. SAFETY, BEHAVIOR, and LIABILITY The safety of the dogs is our primary concern. By entering this event, exhibitors acknowledge that they are familiar with the rules and regulations of this sport. It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create an unnecessary disturbance or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the event committee, be asked to leave the show site. In such case, no refund of any fees paid will be made. The Berger Picard Club of America and it s agents, employees, etc., will assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by exhibitors, spectators, or handlers to their dogs, property, or children. The BPCA reserves the right to decline entries for cause and may remove any dog on account of aggression. No one shall have any recourse or claim against the BPCA, the show secretary, or any official thereof. DOGS MUST BE ON A LEASH AT ALL TIMES WHEN ON EVENT GROUNDS REFUNDS or CHANGES NO FLEXI LEADS, PRONG or ELECTRIC COLLARS No entry fee will be refunded if the event cannot open or be completed by the reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, an act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee. No entry fee will be refunded in the event a dog is absent, disqualified, excused, or barred from the competition for any reason. RINGSIDE Dogs must be ready for evaluations. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs allowed in the rings during judging and professional photography only. CLEAN UP Please clean up after your dogs, your children, and yourself. Pick up hair and debris after grooming. Please be neat and place all garbage in the dumpster or trash cans as soon as possible.
