2 Livestock Rules Adult & Open Livestock Entries close July 15 th. 1. Please read & abide by the Yolo County Fair General Rules as well. 2. Fair Management is not Responsible for finding or correcting errors on any Exhibitor s Entries 3. Management cannot be held responsible for necessary Changes in order of events. 4. The management reserves the right to limit the number of exhibitors per breed and/or the number of animals per breed. 5. Any person tampering with stall assignments without approval of the Livestock Office will be asked to leave the grounds and premiums will be forfeited. 6. By submitting the entry, exhibitors and their agents, parents, and leaders acknowledge and agree that They: a. understand, agree to abide by and have read the State Rules, local fair rules including the General Rules and the Code of Conduct. b. Certify that all information on the entry is true and accurate c. Agree to comply with the fair s decision regarding any alleged violation of the state, local rules or code of conduct. 7. If it is determined there has been unethical treatment of animals or violation of state or federal regulations or of state or local fair drug policy rules, exhibitor names will be forwarded to F&E as well as given to the Network of California fairs and to appropriate government agencies as prescribed in State Rules. 8. The Exhibitor agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Association and the State of California, their officers, servants and employees from any and all claims, resulting from any damages, injury or loss to any person or persons, including all persons to whom the Exhibitor may be liable under any Worker s Compensation law and Exhibitor himself and from any loss, damage, cause of action, claims or suits for damages, including but not limited to loss of property, goods, caused by, arising out of or in any way connected with the exercise by Exhibitor of the privileges herein granted. 9. Premiums (cash awards) are paid only in accordance with results recorded on

3 the judge s sheets. Ribbons, etc. have no value as to payment of premiums. 10. All Livestock Premiums & Award Monies will be passed out during the Open Exhibitor Meeting, and then in the Fair Office for the next 3 weeks during normal business hours. After 30 days from check issue date, all unclaimed premium or award monies will become forfeit and will return to being Yolo County Fair Property. 11. ID Badges are required for all Livestock Exhibitors & Must be worn in the livestock area always & FFA ID badges are required for show & sale. 12. Replacement of lost badges will cost the Exhibitor $20.00 13. Open Jr. Exhibitors must be at least 5 years of age by January 1st & must be able to control their animals. 14. All cattle must be broken to lead. 15. All animals, pens, and stalls must be cleaned before 9:00 a.m. each day. 16. The first bedding of shavings or straw for Open Exhibitors Only will be furnished by the Fair Association. Additional bedding may be purchased on the grounds. 17. No Straw will be allowed in the Sheep, Swine or Goat Barns. 18. All animal watering devices including Lixits must be independent from the Fairgrounds Water System. 19. All Livestock, Rabbits & Poultry will remain on the grounds until 12:00 Noon, Sunday except for Open Dairy Goats who may leave after Judging on Friday. 20. Livestock Area Trailer and RV parking will be limited this year, and only available to Adult Open Exhibitors. First consideration will be given to those exhibitors living the furthest away and outside the city of Woodland. There will be a Fifty ($50.00) dollar trailer/tent space fee for the 5-day fair. To reserve your space, the $50.00 fee (please use separate check) must accompany entry fees. We are also asking that all RVs can run off their own 210 or 50-amp connection which they must provide. By August 10 th, you will be notified if you have a space. Please do not contact office prior to this date regarding this matter. 21. Parking Passes a. Are $15.00, nonrefundable. FFA Exhibitor s Pass will be limited as to days and times as directed by Fair CEO and Livestock Staff.

4 b. Parking is limited to Livestock Parking Area Only. No Parking on inner grounds Violators are subject to towing and parking pass revoked. c. FFA Advisor s Parking: Each School will be assigned 1 parking space. All other advisors will need to park in lot. Educational displays must be contained in the assigned stall/pen space and not disturb the barn visibility. 7 Each exhibitor is limited to 16 animals per division and 2 animals per class, limited to space available with Yolo and surrounding counties receiving first preference. Animals with a Certificate of Registry (Blue Border) issued by the American Dairy Goat Association Are Eligible. Animals with a Certificate of Registry (Brown Border) issued by the American Dairy Goat Association Are Not Eligible. The registration Certificate by the American Dairy Goat Association has a Certificate of Transfer attached. When an owner signs the Transfer for the new owner, a new registration certificate must be obtained before exhibiting the animal. A registration certificate is required for all animals six months of age or older. 8 Sheep Registered Purebred Breeding Animals Entries are due by July 15 th. Entry Fee - $5.00 per entry per class must be paid by Check, Cashier s Check or Money Order it must be received in our office by July 15 th. Open to Sheep owned and exhibited by residents of Yolo, Sacramento County, Solano County & counties north. Each exhibitor is limited to 15 head per breed. Flock numbers shall be used to identify all entries. Registration numbers may not be used as flock numbers. Flock numbers and breeder s initials, name or association prefix shall be on commercially used tags attached to the ear or tattooed in the ear for yearlings and lambs bred by the exhibitor. Lambs born from a purchased bred ewe can bear the ear tag of the owner at the time of birth. They do not have to have original breeder s ear tag. An exhibitor may not use the same flock number on more than one animal during any two consecutive calendar years. Due to space limitations, entries may be limited to the first six strings received. Refer to the Livestock Rules, And Schedule pages for Arrival, Release and Judging times Entries must state if this is an FFA or 4-H project Open Exhibitors must be at least 5 years of age by January 1 st. They also must be able to control the animal by themselves. Ownership: Market Beef - 120 days prior to August 15th Hogs, Lambs, Goats & Turkeys - 60 days prior to August 15th Rabbits & Chickens - 30 Days prior to August 15 th Payment must be made by July 15 th in the form of a Cashier s Check, Money Order or Check made payable to the Yolo County Fairgrounds. All animals entered in groups in all breeds or all other breeds judged together must be of one breed. Breeding Animal Exhibitors must check registration with Livestock Office and Officials one day Prior to Show. All Open Market Animals will not be eligible for FFA Auction. No Open Exhibitor trailers will be Allowed on the Inner Grounds Parking Passes for Livestock Exhibitors are $15.00 Cash Only and may be Purchased at the Livestock Office during Check In. 1. 10 Goats No cash awards Market goats must not be over one (1) year of age and must be able to show milk teeth. Market goats must be slick sheared or ¼ Inch hair only. Either horned, tipped or dehorned are permissible. Castration sites must be healed and free of signs of inflammation. Market Goats 60-105 pounds Feeder Goats Under 60 pounds Poultry Poultry health checks will be performed upon arrival and prior to coop-in. All birds will be judged in accordance with the latest Standards adopted by the leading specially clubs of America. Where no American standard is in vogue, the latest European standard will be used. Only recognized colors shall be considered Ownership: All birds must be owned by exhibitor 30 days prior to opening of fair. All young birds must be identified by a serially numbered current year seamless leg band of correct size conforming to the entry on arrival at the show. Old birds must have seamless leg band prior year serially numbered bands conforming to entry. Poultry will be shown and judged in the proper section and class for breed, variety, age and sex only. A judge may excuse a bird from competition if it appears to be unhealthy or out of condition, but the bird shall be counted as an entry. Substitutions will be allowed where the bird being substituted is of the same breed, variety, age and sex as the bird being withdrawn and may be made without penalty if completed at least 24 hours prior to time judging is scheduled to begin. Fair Management is not to be held responsible for birds, if illness or death occurs. Classes in each Division will be separated into individual breeds for judging after entries close.
