MARKET REPORT FOR TUESDAY 28TH FEBRUARY Things looked a lot better today, with the overall average price for hoggets up 6.5p from last week. It is unfortunate that we only had a handful of lambs forward, as many more could have been sold. One buyer with a job to buy a load of lambs didn t even get started. Prices topped at 175p or 78.43. MORE NEEDED EACH WEEK to fulfil buyer needs. Do not hesitate to contact Alastair at your convenience with any questions, queries, or entries, regarding Stratford Livestock Auction. The Special Sales of Breeding Sheep and Store Lambs have been introduced so that we can have a larger selection of ewes and store lambs on offer, rather than dribs and drabs each week, as some of these types of buyers can t make it each week, but will come to market if they know there is a lot forward. THE NEXT SPECIAL COLLECTIVE SALE WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY 14TH MARCH. However, if you can t make the dates, many buyers are at Stratford every week. If you have any to market please contact Alastair, who will be delighted to contact prospective buyers. The Produce Sale is getting busier week by week as we move into the year, and with more Spring plants on offer the tables are filling up. We have now introduced a miscellanea section, with a variety of goods on offer. Please read the report for further details. SUMMER SHEEP GRAZING WANTED Up to 200 acres in one lot, but smaller lots will be considered. Please contact Alastair for further details 07885 804450.
