Awards Quiz bowl certificates. Pin 90% or higher, Gold seal 80% to 89%, Blue seal 70% to 79%, Red Seal 60% to 69%, Green seal 68% and lower. Showmanship: Rosette for 1 st place winners, ribbons 2 nd through 8 th place. Cavy Breed Show Rosette for Best of Show and Reserve Best of Show. 1 st through 3 rd ribbons for each class. Dog Obedience: Ribbons 1 st through 3rd place. Poultry Breed Show 1 st through 3 rd ribbons for each class. Rosettes for Breed Show Division Champions. Best of Show & Reserve of Show, prizes will be awarded. Serama: 1 st place rosette ribbon for Best Smooth Cock/Cockerel and Hen/Pullet, Silkie Cock/Cockerel and Hen/Pullet, and Frizzle Cock/Cockerel and Hen/Pullet. Those 1 st place birds compete for Rosette for champion Smooth, Champion Silkie, Champion Frizzle. Those 3 champions have a showdown for Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show awards. Prospect class will get a rosette for 1st place pullet and cockerel, and ribbons for 2-4. Prospect birds do not compete against the other birds for show champions. Prospect is its own separate class. Junior Round Robin Winner will be awarded a buckle. Senior Round Robin Winner will be awarded a buckle. Rules & Regulations General 1. Open to Butte County 4-H members only with an active membership for the 2017-2018 year. 2. Ages for showmanship will be the age of the participant as of January 1, 2018. 3. ONLY pre-registered animals competing in showmanship and/or the breed shows are allowed on the grounds. 4. The sale of animals during the day of the show is strictly prohibited. Anyone selling animals during the show will be excused from the show and will forfeit all awards. 5. Entries, all entry fees, and any additional forms where applicable must be received on or before the due date. Entry fee is $5 per class. No late entries will be allowed. Entries are due by 5pm on March 29, 2018 at the 4-H county office. Checks to be made out to Butte 4-H County Council. 6. Primary members will receive participation ribbons only and are not eligible to advance 7. Round Robin is offered for Junior and Senior members only. 1 st and 2 nd place Winners of Beginning/Novice showmanship can advance to the next level. 8. If you win Junior showmanship and choose to advance to Senior showmanship and win Senior showmanship you CANNOT choose to compete in Junior Round Robin. You must compete in Senior.

Any duplication of ear markings by one exhibitor in the same division must be eliminated and the change recorded on the judging sheet before judging. 4. Judge may excuse a cavy from competition because of illness or disease. 5. Participants are responsible for providing their own food and water. 6. Dogs 1. Dog must be owned/leased by the 4-H member. 2. One dog per exhibitor. One obedience class and one showmanship class per dog. 3. Exhibitor only may groom and handle dogs while on the grounds. Adults may assist in the loading and unloading of dogs. 4. Bitches in season will not be allowed to compete. Uncontrolled or aggressive dogs will be dismissed and must immediately be removed from the grounds. 5. A six foot leather leash is required for showing in obedience classes. 6. All dogs need their current shots: DHL, rabies and bronchitis. Proof of shots must be sent in with the entry form. All dogs must be free of pests, fleas and disease. 7. Judging and scoring of the Obedience Class will be based on the American Kennel Club Regulations. 8. American System of Judging. 1 st and 2 nd place winners of the Novice and Junior class will advance to the next age level of showmanship. 1 st place winner of Jr. Showmanship may advance to Sr. Showmanship, in the event the Jr. showman wins Sr. showmanship they will compete in Sr. Round Robin and the 2 nd place winner of Jr. showmanship will compete in Jr. Round Robin. 9. All birds including Seramas will be required to go through the poultry inspection station between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM the day of the show before entering the grounds. Any bird examined and found with any kind of parasite, infection (fungal or bacterial), disease or health concern will be sent home immediately and will not be permitted to enter the grounds. A judge may excuse a bird from competition if it appears to be fatigued or out of condition. 2. All exhibited poultry must be owned by the 4-H member for a minimum of 30 days prior to the show. 3. Rules, definitions and judging procedure as prescribed in the latest edition of the Official Show Rules and the Standard of Perfection of the American Poultry Association, Inc. shall apply. 4. Birds will be shown and judged in the proper division and class for breed, variety, age and sex Only. If no class is offered, no awards may be made.
5. Serama poultry need not be entered in the breed show and may compete in the table top show only or in a showmanship class. 6. For all classes of poultry, all poultry must be identified by leg bands conforming to the entry form on arrival at the show. 7. Exhibitors are responsible to provide their own, food and water. 8. American System of Judging. 1 st and 2 nd place winners of the Beginners and Junior class will advance to the next age level of showmanship. 1 st place winner of Jr. Showmanship may advance to Sr. Showmanship, in the event the Jr. showman wins Sr. showmanship they will compete in Sr. Round Robin and the 2 nd place winner of Jr. showmanship will compete in Jr. Round Robin. 5. Primary members will receive participation ribbons only and are not eligible to advance Pet Class Pet class was created for those members who don't have a show quality bird, but would still like to participate in the fun of the show events. The Pet class is separate from the breed class. Poultry can only be in one of the classes. not both. If for some reason your breed class poultry is disqualified you can choose to have it entered in the pet class. In the Standard and Bantam class all sexes are judged together. In the all other fowl class, all varieties are judged together.
Educational Display Posters: Educational Displays may exhibit one of the following display formats: 1. Card Table Display (approximately 30 x30 ): This format will feature a tri-fold poster board that includes a title, the member s name and 4-H affiliation, and a depiction of the program or concept. The table may be used as part of the display. 2. Panel Display (approximately 4 x4 ): The panel is presented vertically on an easel. The display will include; as a minimum, a title, the member s name and 4-H affiliation, and a depiction of the program or concept.
