Pruritus Pruritus is a medical term used in both humans and animals for itch. In dogs, scratching, biting, licking, chewing, and rubbing against fixed objects can all be seen as manifestations of pruritus. Many different skin diseases can be associated with pruritus and so your vet may recommend the use of ScratchTracker. This App may be used for a short period of time (for instance for a few weeks or months) or, if your pet is suffering from a lifelong condition such as atopic dermatitis, it may be used as part of your dog s long term management programme.
Using ScratchTracker ScratchTracker provides a simple way for you to monitor pruritus (itching) in your dog and share the results with your vet. By using the scoring scale that has been developed by veterinary dermatologists, you can help your vet track how your dog is responding to treatment and identify reasons for an increase in your dog s level of itchiness. This app works best if you use it under the guidance of your vet. After downloading ScratchTracker, follow the instructions to add your dog s details and set up reminders. You can also add in your vet s contact details if you have been asked to email results. How itchy is your dog? Eddie Read all the descriptions, starting from the bottom.
