December 4/09 To Whom It May Concern: Please be advised that the dogs at 126 Verdun Rd. continue to bark incessantly, thus disturbing myself and the neighbors surrounding the house and yard. The owner at said property appears to be making no effort to quiet the dogs while home, and of course the dogs are outside all the time while nobody is home. Upon a recent visit to my family doctor, it was discovered that my blood pressure is elevated and I can directly attribute this change to the barking of the dogs. Because I am the closest neighbor to this house I feel that I most affected by the noise. However, many other residents in the neighborhood also continue to be disturbed by the barking that they hear all the time of course while outside the house but also while indoors. Neighbors while walking by the house comment that the barking is "crazy to have to listen to this". /' Ywe implore some authority to put a stop to this, clearly charges laid and wwt appearances by the owner and neighbors have not been effective. This problem is now into the fourth year; surely something can be done to STOP THE NOISE POLLUTION. sincerely, L y h ighbors of 126 Verdun Rd. 0s wa E re- I? - S, j4(2), Municipal Freedom of lnformatlon ad P~~tecf'~~ of privacy Act

Mayor of Oshawa April 27,2009 RE: Incessant Dog barking at 126 Verdun Rd. Oshawa Dear Mr. Grey, Please be advised that I am writing to you on behalf of my neighbors and myself regarding 2 dogs at 126 Verdun Rd. in Oshawa. One of the dogs is on a leash and appears to be viscously aggressive; there is much fear amongst neighbors if he were to break loose they he would attack unprovoked. Both dogs bark continually for hours at a time both day and night. Uwe have communicated the problem of barking noise with the owners of these dogs to no avail. I have contacted Oshawa Animal services at 919 Farewell St., I have also provided documentation to the office of Animal Services from personal observation and have written documentation of the frequency of disturbances and still nothing has been done to stop these dogs from disturbing the neighborhood. On Saturday April 25, my wife overheard the dog's owner come home and approach the dog that is She heard what sounded lie a chain Wing used to strike the dogls and subsequent cries. She then heard disturb'ig "screaming and yelping" sounds from both dogs as they fought for hours after the owner left. Your investigation into this matter would be greatly appreciated as we have had no results fiom other avenues. Sincerely,
April 20,2005 Your large brown dog is getting through your back fence again. Yesterday, it was almost picked up by Animal Control when they spotted it running loose down Oshawa Boulevard but it got away from them by running through our backyard, into the neighbour's and back through the gap in your fence. While the smaller dog is no problem, I don't know if you realize how aggressive the larger dog is when you are not home. When someone in your family is out in the yard with the dog, we can be in our backyard and the dog pays no attention to us. However, when the dogs are alone, we can't be in our backyard at all without the large dog aggressively pacing along the fence and barking at us non-stop. Every time I go out to hang laundry on the line or my husband or I cut the grass or do anything else in our backyard that dog challenges US. This is not the behaviour of a dog protecting its property. A trained dog behaves that way if someone is trying to enter its property but we are just going about our business in our own backyard. After all this time, that dog should have realized that we are no threat and just ignore us when we are on our own property. When the Animal Control officer followed your dog into our backyard yesterday, he was surprised by itsaggressive behaviour. By this time the dog was back in your yard and the officer was standing at our back door. He did not go near your dog yet it paced the fence (near our shed where it can see into our yard) and barked threateningly the entire time the officer was here - the same way it behaves toward us. According to the officer, the city bylaw states that a dog must be under the control of its owner at all times and your fence would not contain a dog as big and as aggressive as yours even if it didn't have a gap that allows the dog to get out so easily. The dog was back and forth through that gap in the fence every few minutes today - it takes less than a second for it to get through now. I did not call Animal Control today but if this doesn't stop I will start calling them every time your dog is running at large. Please do whatever you have to do to keep it out of our yard and to stop it from challenging us when we are on our property. You have the right to own a dog but you do not have the right to allow it to destroy our enjoyment of our property. Because of your dog's behaviour, I am afraid to be in my own backyard and that is simply not fair. We have put up with this since last summer because we did not want to cause problems and we thought your dog would learn to just ignore us but the situation has gotten to the point where we cannot just quietly put up with it anymore. - I%.?
