Lorem Ipsum Dolor [Insert Date] BSR Alum Fripp Boykin Spaniel Rescue, Inc. 2016 Annual Report Dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of at- risk, purebred, Boykin Spaniels.

Dear Friends: 2016 was a year of growth and building. We had a large number of intakes, many of which were Permanent Foster Care dogs. The first half of the year was especially taxing, as our dog care costs were up 50% over the same period of 2015. We were so fortunate that our donors and supporters stepped up, once again, and our mid- year fundraiser was an incredible success. I am also thrilled to announce that BSR now has a new, real- time database, which allows the team to work interactively. In addition, the database has allowed for us to work as a virtually paperless Organization! Our new website launched in early 2017, but much of the year was dedicated to analyzing workflows so that all segments we serve dogs, volunteers, adoption applicants and our generous donor have a clear, more user- friendly experience. The website interfaces directly with the database, saving countless hours and streamlining our efficiencies. Both the database and the website were built by volunteers, are BSR- managed and are incredibly cost- effective! We are now well positioned to better serve all stakeholders, and are excited about what the future holds. Donec The implementation Vitae Sem of the new operational infrastructure is now allowing us to do what we do best: Care for the Little Brown Dogs we love so much. In hac habitasse platea dictumst. A. BSR Alum Chester BSR Alum Fripp BSR Alum Argie The next phase of our growth requires that we continue to expand our roles and refine the structure within our Organization. The Board of Boykin Spaniel Rescue, Inc. has voted to institute the role of President, which I am humbled that they have asked me to fill. In this role, I will continue to develop the strategy and vision for the Organization, while also reaching out to our key partners and donors. Jeannine Culbertson will assume the role of Executive Director. Jeannine s experience and dedication will be key to managing the day- to- day operations of the Organization and implementing the Programs and services initiated by the Board. I would like to personally thank our volunteers for the thousands of hours they have dedicated to our mission. From processing applications, coordinating volunteers and contacting shelters to transporting dogs to safety and fostering, our volunteers never cease to amaze me. We also have volunteers who work in other capacities utilizing their talents in so many ways. We are all incredibly grateful. To our donors, your belief in BSR, and all that we strive to accomplish, is heartwarming. We repeatedly ask you to step up, and you never fail us! From the entire Boykin Spaniel Rescue family, you have our profound gratitude. I encourage you to read this Annual Report as well as spend some time on our website. We now have the ability to keep it updated more regularly, so check back often and keep the feedback and suggestions coming. Our goal is to share with you all that make BSR the wonderful organization it is. You are welcome to reach out to me, Jeannine or to any of our Board members with questions or suggestions. All the Best, Jill Freeman 3

2016 Revenue and Expenses Our goal is that 80% of all income will go to the dogs and their care. In 2016, we are pleased that 66% of expensed dollars went to dog care. It should be noted that this includes cost of merchandise. In addition, 65% of the Marketing expenditures were due to rescue outreach, in which that amount is donated back and double- matched by the donor s employer. Our new database and website are self- managed, which will further streamline efforts and increase efficiencies. PFC Merle Merle was turned over to a Florida rescue. He was a plantation dog who is blind. He is doing well with his fosters, who have updated their home to meet his needs. PFC Sassy Sassy was returned to BSR s care as a senior with mobility issues. She is content being adored by her fosters, and greeting folks at their church. PFC General General was found as a stray at the Dollar General store. He has severe hip dysplasia, but with a good treatment plan, he is living comfortably with his foster family. PFC Intakes, Class of 2016 PFC Ace Ace is a senior that was pulled from a backyard owner with three other dogs. He has adjusted very well to all the comforts provided by his forever fosters. PFC Jackson Jackson came into BSR s care due to his special medical needs he developed diabetes at a young age, and he has a cardiac condition. With ongoing care, he is doing great and enjoys swimming with his fosters. Two (2) of our PFCs taken in last year have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. 6

And, slowly, there emerges a butterfly Some of the dogs we take in simply need to be evaluated and a suitable home found. Others, with more complex medical needs and deep emotional wounds, need more. Some are well enough to be adopted; others are placed in our PFC Program. PFC Handsome Harry All dogs, which come into BSR s care, are evaluated. First, we assess their medical needs and a plan is put in place. The emotional can take a bit longer to uncover and to build their confidence. PFC Handsome Harry was one of our first PFC intakes. Due to his ongoing medical needs, he was placed in our PFC Program where he will live and be loved and cared for the rest of his life. In every instance, we evaluate each dog for their potential, and they are placed where their lives will have purpose and meaning. Some are adopted and have gone on to gain top field trial honors. Others are hunting companions, therapy dogs, or have other jobs. ALL are loved unconditionally. BSR Alum Tuff Sometimes, we take in a dog that really breaks our hearts. But the healing process begins and many times they are well enough to be adopted, as was the case with Tuff this past year. BSR Alum Tuff Intake BSR Alum Tuff Today
