ENTER Online or Fax at ALL Entries MUST be received by closing date: WEDNESDAY, July 4 th, 2018 @ 9:00pm Pacific Time ************************************ The tendering of NSF cheque shall be considered non-payment of entry fees and is punishable by returned cheque. Exhibitors whose charges are declined by the Bank Card Authorization Department will be assessed a service charge of $25.00 for each transaction declined. Telephone entries are not accepted by the Show Secretary. Incomplete entries or entries received without fees, or entries received after the advertised closing date will not be accepted. Attention foreign exhibitors, please note that fees are due and payable in Canadian dollars. Due to consistently fluctuating currency rates discounted cheques will not be accepted. Personal cheques will be accepted, however, they are to be payable in Canadian Funds. If you sent a cheque in US funds, it must be made out for the full amount of the entry and no exchange will be refunded to the exhibitor. Please DO NOT make cheques Payable in Canadian Funds or At Par. They will not be cleared by the banks. To simplify the process, we urge that you purchase bank drafts or money orders payable in Canadian Funds.

CONFORMATION CLASSES The following Regular CKC Classes (divided by sex) will be offered: JUNIOR PUPPY CLASS - This class shall be for any dog 6 months of age and under 9 months of age on the day of the show SENIOR PUPPY CLASS - This class shall be for any dog 9 months of age and under 12 months of age on the day of the show 12 to 18 MONTH CLASS- This class shall be for any dog 12 months but under 18 months of age on the day of the show CANADIAN BRED CLASS - This class shall be for any dog born in Canada. (Champions of any country excluded) BRED BY EXHIBITOR CLASS - This class shall be for any dog owned and handled in the ring by owner/breeder. The handler MUST be the owner/co- owner AND breeder/co-breeder of the dog. The owner/breeder must handle the dog at the class level, but need not handle the dog for further awards OPEN CLASS - This class shall be for all dogs VETERAN CLASS This class is for all dogs 7 years of age and over on the day of the show. This class will be divided into 7 years of age and under 10 years, 10 to 12 years of age and 12+ years of age. These dogs will compete for regular placements with the first place males and females in each age division competing for Best of Breed, Best Veteran in Specialty and Best Opposite Sex Veteran in Specialty. The winners of the Veteran Classes DO NOT compete for Championship points. Dogs entered in this class may be spayed or neutered. FIELD CLASS - This class shall be for dogs that have attained a title or placement in a field trial or test. Dogs entered in these classes may be spayed or neutered. SPECIALS ONLY CLASS - This class shall be for any dog that has a recorded CKC Registration or Event Registration Number and has attained the required points for Championship status. Note: A Listed dog may be moved to the Specials Only Class after the closing of entries, provided the CKC Individual or Event Registration Number was received prior to the first day of the show. The request to move a class dog to the Specials Only Class MUST be received by the Show Secretary ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE OPENING OF THE SHOW ON THE DAY CONCERNED. Listing Fees WILL NOT be refunded EXHIBITION ONLY - All dogs entered in this class shall be listed in the catalogue with the same particulars as dogs entered in regular competition. Dogs entered in this class MAY NOT COMPETE in any Regular class but may enter and compete in Non-Regular classes and/or Parades ONLY NON-REGULAR CLASSES Any dog entered in the Non-Regular class MUST also be entered in a Regular class or for Exhibition Only on the day of the show except Baby Puppy. BABY PUPPY CLASS - This class shall be for any dog 3 months of age and under 6 months of age on the day of the show. The award for this class are: Best Baby Male, Best Baby Female, Best Baby Puppy in Breed, Best Baby Puppy in Group BRACE This class shall be for 2 dogs of the same breed (not necessarily the same sex). A brace must be handled by one person on one lead. STUD DOG & GET This class shall be for a Stud Dog and 2 or more of his Get. Ownership need not be identical. The stud dog may be spay/neutered and must be entered in a Regular class or in Exhibition Only. The Get must be entered in a Regular class. BROOD BITCH & PROGENY Shall have the same requirements as the Stud Dog & Get

UNOFFICIAL CLASSES EXTENDED GENERATIONS Shall be comprised of 3 dogs representing three successive generations. Specifically, the entry must be a dog or bitch, one offspring of that dog or bitch and one offspring of that offspring. Each dog/bitch must be entered in a Regular class of for Exhibition Only but only one entry fee is paid. This entry need not be of the same sex. All three dogs are judged. Ownership is not a consideration each dog/bitch can have different ownership. Judge s decision is based on the merits and likeness of the entry of three. GUN RETRIEVER This class shall be for a dog of either sex with a CKC/AKC WC, WCI, WCX, JH, SH. Class divided by sex. FIELD RETRIEVER This class shall be for a dog of either sex with a CKC/AKC MH, CKC/AKC Licensed Field Trial Placement. Class divided by sex. SEXUALLY-ALTERED CLASSES Eligibility for the Altered classes shall be limited to dogs over six months of age, which have been sexually altered by veterinary procedure. Points MAY NOT be carried from the regular competition judging to the Altered class judging. This class will be judged upon the completion of Best of Breed. Two classes ONLY will be offered: Altered Male and Altered Female Classes will be placed first through fourth in both sexes, the first place winner from each sex will be declared Winners and the second place winner from each sex will be awarded Reserve. The Altered Winners Male and Altered Winners Female will then compete for Best Altered in Breed and Best Opposite Sex Altered in Breed. BORDER CROSSING A Rabies Certificate is required to bring a dog into Canada. Government regulations require this Certificate and MUST be dated at least 30 days prior to re-entry into the US. A valid passport is needed for persons crossing the border.

OFFICIAL OBEDIENCE CLASSES Day of trial entries will be accepted if limits have not been reached. These entries MUST be submitted to the Show Secretary ONE HOUR PRIOR to the opening of the respective trial. No dog may be entered in both Novice A and Novice B, Open A and Open B at the same trial. In determining class eligibility, if a dog shall have won a particular title before being entered or moved up, the handler shall have been notified by at least 2 different judges that the dog has won 3 qualifying scores for the required title. (However, a dog may continue to be exhibited for 60 days in a class after winning a particular title.) Dogs fulfilling the requirements for a title may be moved to the next level of competition if the schedule permits. The transfer must be on the appropriate move-up form and submitted to the show secretary at least 15 minutes before the start of the class. PRE-NOVICE - The Pre-Novice class is an elective class and earning the title is not a requirement to enter Novice classes. The Pre-Novice class shall be for any dog of any recognized or listed breed, mixed breed or unrecognized breed which has not earned the title of P.C.D. Dogs in this class may be handled by the owner or any other person. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. The same handler must handle each dog in all 5 exercises unless he has 2 or more dogs entered. In such cases, he must have an additional handler for each extra dog when they are judged together in the group exercise. Only dogs that have not earned the title of C.D. may enter the Pre-Novice class. NOVICE A - The Novice A class shall be for any dog of any recognized or listed breed, mixed breed or unrecognized breed which has not earned the title of C.D. Only one dog per handler is allowed in this class, and that person must handle the dog in all exercises. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner or a member of their immediate families. No person who has trained or exhibited a dog that earned a C.D.X. title shall be allowed to handle a dog in this class. NOVICE B - The Novice B class shall be for any dog of any recognized or listed breed, mixed breed or unrecognized breed which has not earned the title of C.D. Dogs in this class may be handled by the owner or any other person. The owner or any other person may handle a dog in this class. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. The same handler must handle each dog in all 6 exercises unless he has 2 or more dogs entered. In such cases, he must have an additional handler for each extra dog when they are judged together in the group exercises. NOVICE C - The Novice C class shall be for any dog of any recognized or listed breed, mixed breed or unrecognized breed that has earned the title C.D. or any higher obedience titles. Dogs in this class may be handled by the owner or any other person. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. The same handler must handle each dog in all 6 exercises unless he has 2 or more dogs entered. In such cases, he must have an additional handler for each extra dog when they are judged together in the group exercises. Dogs may compete in Novice C indefinitely. Scores earned by dogs in the Novice C class are not eligible for High In Trial and do not qualify a dog for any title. Dogs may be entered in the Novice C class in addition to any other official or unofficial classes for which they are eligible. NOVICE INTERMEDIATE - The Novice Intermediate class is an elective class and earning this title is not a requirement to enter the Open classes. The Novice Intermediate class shall be for any dog of any recognized or listed breed, mixed breed or unrecognized breed that has earned a C.D. or any higher obedience trial titles. Dogs in this class may be handled by the owner or any other person. A person may enter more than one dog in this class The same handler must handle the dog in all 6 exercises. Dogs may compete in the Novice Intermediate class indefinitely. Scores earned by dogs competing in this class are not eligible for High in Trial. Dogs may be entered in the Novice Intermediate class in addition to any other official or unofficial classes for which they are eligible.

OPEN HA - The Open HA class shall be for any dog of any recognized or listed breed, mixed breed or unrecognized breed which has earned the title of C.D. but has not earned the title of C.D.X. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner or member of their immediate families. Only one dog per handler is allowed in this class, and that person must handle the dog in all exercises. Any person who has trained or exhibited a dog that has earned a U.D. title may not handle a dog in this class. OPEN 18A -The requirements are the same as Open HA and the same rules except the Long Sit is replaced with Change of Positions Exercises and the Long Down is replaced with a Group Sit-Walk around. OPEN HB - The Open HB class shall be for any dog of any recognized or listed breed, mixed breed or unrecognized breed which has earned the title of C.D. Dogs which have earned the title of C.D.X. or any higher titles may enter in the Open B class. A dog may also be entered in the Utility Class in the same trial. Dogs in this class may be handled by the owner or any other person. A person may enter or handle more than one dog in this class. The same handler must handle each dog in all 7 exercises unless he has 2 or more dogs entered. In such cases, he must have an additional handler for each extra dog when they are judged together in the group exercises. Prior to the start of judging, the judge will choose which of the six numbered routines is to be performed. This choice will not be disclosed to the exhibitors until it is posted at ring side at least 30 minutes before the start of the class. In future assignments, judges are required to alternate the six routines so that each set will be used approximately the same number of times. OPEN 18B The requirements are the same as Open HB and the same rules except the addition of the new Change of Positions Exercises and Long Down is replaced with a Group Sit-Walk around. UTILITY A - The Utility A class shall be for any dog of any recognized or listed breed, mixed breed or unrecognized breed which has earned the title of C.D.X. but has not earned the title of U.D. Any person who has trained or exhibited a dog that has earned a M.O.T.Ch. title may not handle dogs in this class. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner or member of their immediate families. Owners may enter more than one dog in this class. The same person must handle the dog in all exercises. UTILITY B - The Utility B class shall be for any dog of any recognized or listed breed, mixed breed or unrecognized breed which has earned the title of C.D.X. or U.D. Dogs in this class may be handled by the owner or any other person. Owners may enter more than one dog in this class. The same person must handle the dog in all exercises. Prior to the start of judging, the judge will choose which of the six numbered routines will be performed. This choice will not be disclosed to exhibitors until it is posted at ring side at least 30 minutes before the start of the class. In future assignments, judges are required to alternate the six routines so that each will be used approximately the same number of times.

RALLY NOVICE B - Any dog may compete in this class until a qualifying score in the Rally Advanced class is earned. The owner or any other person may handle dogs in this class. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. All exercises are judged on leash, and all dogs must enter and leave the ring on leash. RALLY INTERMEDIATE - This class shall be for dogs that have earned the R.N. title. A dog completing the R.I. or any other obedience or rally titles may continue to compete in this class indefinitely. The owner or any other person may handle dog in this class. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. RALLY ADVANCED A - This class shall be for dogs that have won the Rally Novice (R.N.) title but have not won the Rally Advanced (R.A.) title or any CKC Novice Obedience title. RALLY EXCELLENT B - This class shall be for dogs that have won the Rally Advanced (R.A.) title. A dog completing the Rally Excellent (R.E.) title may continue to compete in this class indefinitely. The owner or any other person may handle dogs in this class, A person may enter more than one dog in this class. All exercises are judged off leash except the Honor Exercise. All dogs must enter and leave the ring on leash. RALLY MASTER - This class is for dogs that have earned the RE title. Any person may handle the dog in this class. Dogs must earn 3 qualifying scores of 85 points or more under at least 2 different judges. JUNIOR HANDLING COMPETITION Dogs shown must be Golden Retrievers entered in a Regular class or for Exhibition Only. Rosettes and prizes will be awarded for: First in each class, Prize and rosette will be awarded to Best Overall Handler (excluding Pee Wee). Rosettes will be offered for 2nd through 4th in each class. Participant ribbons will be awarded to each Pee Wee entrant. The following classes will be offered: Pee Wee (non-competitive) 4-7 years, Junior Novice - 8 to 11 years, Junior Open - 8 to 11 years, Intermediate Novice:11-14 years, Intermediate Open:11-14 years, Senior Novice - 15 to but not including 18 years, Senior Open - 15 to but not including 18 years Please note that effective January 1, 2016, in accordance with Section 3.4.1 of the Junior Handling Rules & Regulations, Junior Handlers will be required to apply to CKC Head Office for a Junior Handling Number. Section 3.4.1 Junior Handler with the exception of Pee Wees, must apply to CKC Head Office on the appropriate form for a Junior Handling Number within 30 days of competing in their first Junior Handling event. This Junior Handling Number will be used by the Junior Handler for the duration of their Junior Handling career. If a Junior Handling number is not obtained, Junior Handling points earned will not be tracked. Violators will be asked to leave the show grounds. Crates will be allowed at ringside during the judging of your specific breed only and must be removed immediately after. No Exceptions. Dogs are not allowed in washrooms and must be on leash at all timed on the show grounds or within the show building with the exception of the obedience rings. The welfare of an exhibitor s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that you will exercise control and restraint over the children in your care on the days of these shows. The Club is not responsible for lost or stolen property from exhibitors or venders/concessions. The Club will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of accident or misfortune to either dogs, exhibitors, spectators or vendors. No liquid waste is to be disposed of in garbage cans. All RV units must have buckets underneath for their sink drains. Anyone found discharging water on the grounds will be removed by order of the Health Department and may be subject to a fine. Any videographer or photographer, other than the official videographer/photographer, that is going to take picture for which they will be remunerated will require written permission from the Sporting Dog Spectacular Committee and/or the official show videographer/photographer.

GENERAL RULES GOVERNING THESE SHOWS It is the responsibility of the Exhibitor to be familiar with the rules pertaining to the event in which they are competing. Copies of the Conformation Rule book are available from: The CKC, 400 200 Ronson Dr., Etobicoke, ON M9W 5Z9 or online at www.ckc.ca 1. The Club reserves the right to remove any person from the show. The Show Superintendent shall have full control of the above shows and trials, which will be governed by CKC rules. 2. Any dog excused by the Show Superintendent or the Show Veterinarian for any reason shall not, after being excused, compete in any class for any award for the balance of the show. 3. The show committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of accident, or other misfortune, to either dogs, exhibitors or patrons. 4. A Judge or any person participating in any capacity at a Dog Show held under CKC Rules shall not be subjected to any indignity of any kind during the progress of the show and it shall be the duty and obligation of the Club holding the show to see that this rule is effectively carried out. The Show Superintendent shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of the rules, and the Discipline Committee shall have the power to take such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating that this rule has been violated. 5. Exhibitors are solely responsible for the conduct or actions of their animals while they are on the show grounds. 6. DOGS MUST BE READY FOR JUDGING. The Club will not be responsible for and is not obligated to provide any service for notifying owners or agents of breed or class judging. No ring shall be held up waiting for exhibitors or handlers. Exhibitors & Handlers with more than one dog shall have substitute handlers available so the judging will not be delayed. All start times are PACIFIC TIME. 7. The owner of a dog entered in these shows is entirely responsible for any error in entering his/her dog, regardless of how or by whom the entry was made. 8. A dog once disqualified for any reason at a championship show held under these rules cannot again be shown at a show held under these rules until the dog has been examined by an official committee appointed by the CKC and the committee finds the dog is free from the condition which prompted the disqualification. Application for reinstatement must be accompanied by a fee of $50.00 plus GST which shall be forfeited to the CKC if the examining committee is satisfied that the dog should remain disqualified. All awards earned at a dog show in violation of this rule shall be canceled by the CKC and the owner of the dog is subject to disciplinary action. 9. Exhibitors and handlers will be responsible for their dogs and for their equipment left at the Show Grounds. 10. For the benefit of the health of animals and the pleasure of the exhibitors and spectators we insist upon keeping our grounds and buildings as clean as possible. Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs. Please exercise your dog BEFORE taking it to the Judging ring. Dogs are to be exercised in the designated areas only, not in the vicinity of the ring areas. 11. No entry fee will be refunded if the Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, and Act of God, public emergency, act of public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Club. 12. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by the Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee.

CANADIAN KENNEL CLUB SCHEDULE OF CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS SECTION 2. The schedule to be employed in the determination of the number of points to be allocated to a dog awarded WINNERS shall be as follows: (*Includes the dog awarded Winners.) Dogs Competing* 1 2 3 to 5 6 to 9 10 to 12 13 or more Points Allocated* 0 1 2 3 4 5 To determine the number of championship points earned by a dog awarded Winners, total all the dogs in competition which the dog defeated, directly or indirectly, for the highest of the following official breed awards: Winners, Best of Winners, Best of Breed or Best of Opposite Sex and then consult the schedule set forth above. A dog that is disqualified, dismissed, excused or ordered from the ring by the judge shall not be included in the calculation for championship points. Further section 15.1.12 {C} has been added and states the dog must: have earned at least one 2 point win either at the breed level or group level. The system provides for additional points if a dog awarded winners also places in the Group as listed here under. In no case may a dog earn more than five (5) points at a single show. To earn a Canadian Championship, a dog must earn at least ten championship points under at least three different judges; and be individually registered with the Canadian Kennel Club, or have a CKC Event Registration Number (ERN).

AGREEMENT I (we) acknowledge that I (we), all exhibitors, handlers and patrons, know and abide by the CKC Dog Show Rules, and that I am (we are) familiar with their content. I (we) agree that the Club holding this show has the right to refuse this entry for cause, which the Club shall deem to be sufficient. Inconsideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of the Show and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prize money, ribbons or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the Golden Retriever Club of B.C., their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or show secretary and the owner or lessor of the premises and any employees of the aforementioned parties, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of a dog while in or upon the show premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim, and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss of a dog by disappearance, theft, death or otherwise, and from any claim for damage or injury to the dog, whether such loss, disappearance, theft, damage or injury be caused or alleged to be caused by the negligence of the Club or any of the parties aforementioned, or by the negligence of any other person, or any other cause or causes. I (we) hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify and save the aforementioned parties harmless from any and all loss and expense (including legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties because of bodily injuries, including death at any time resulting therefrom, sustained by any person or persons, including myself (ourselves), or on account of damage to property, arising out of or in consequence of my (our) participation in this show, howsoever such injuries, death or damage to property may be caused and whether or not the same may have been caused and whether or not the same may have alleged to have been caused by negligence of the aforementioned parties or any of their employees or agents, or any other person.
