CALL REGULAR ANIMAL SERVICES BOARD MEETING TO ORDER B. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION Please fill out an Appearance before Animal Services Board form in order to address the Board, and turn the form in prior to Public Participation, or by 6:3 p.m. to Christine Hastings. Speakers are normally limited to three minutes. Time limits can be adjusted by the Chair as to accommodate more or fewer speakers. The purpose of this item is to allow the public an opportunity to address the Board on issues that are not the subject of a public hearing. Any item requiring a Public Hearing will allow the public to speak at the time that item appears on this agenda as indicated as a Public hearing. C. REGULAR ITEMS 1. ADJOURNMENT Christine Hastings Animal Services Manager Posted in accordance with the Texas Government Code, Chapter 551, on the bulletin board at Flower Mound Town Hall, 2121 Cross Timbers Road, on the following date and time: May 24, 218 at 11: A.M., at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled time of said meeting. The Flower Mound Town Hall and Council Chambers are wheelchair accessible. FLOWER MOUND ANIMAL SERVICES BOARD MEETING OF FEBRUARY 27, 218 THE FLOWER MOUND ANIMAL SERVICES BOARD MEETING HELD ON THE 27 TH DAY OF FEBRUARY 218 IN THE FLOWER MOUND TOWN HALL, LOCATED AT 2121 CROSS TIMBERS ROAD IN THE TOWN OF FLOWER MOUND, COUNTY OF DENTON, TEXAS AT 6:3 P.M. The Animal Services Board met in a work session with the following members present: Mary O Meara Chair Place 1 Christine Hastings Member Place 2 Caitlin Dobecka Member Place 3 Susan Bodenmiller Member Place 6 Jason Webb Alternate Place 9 The following members were not present: Cynthia Patterson Vice-Chair Place 4 Clare Schroeder-Brown Member Place 5 Kathy Schmitt Member Place 7 Haiyan Fan Alternate Place 8 Constituting a quorum with the following member of the Town staff participating: Dax Gollaher Animal Services Officer/Board Secretary A. CALL MEETING TO ORDER Chair Mary O Meara called the Animal Services Board meeting to order at 6:3 P.M. B. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION Stacy Smith 9124 Cherokee Trail, Flower Mound, TX, 7522 Executive Director of Humane Tomorrow Stacy updated the board on the purchase of land for a future animal shelter for Humane Tomorrow located in Argyle, TX with the goal to provide further assistance to neighboring communities. Stacy discussed programs they hope will help with behavioral and health issues in the shelters to reduce euthanasia rates. 1

Consider approval of the minutes from the regular meeting of the Animal Services Board held October 24, 217. Council Member Webb made a motion to approve the minutes as written. Member Hastings seconded the motion. AYES: Dobecka, Hastings, Bodenmiller, Webb NAYS: None 2. Consider approval of the minutes from the work session meeting of the Animal Services Board held November 15, 217. Council Member Webb made a motion to approve the minutes as written. Member Hastings seconded the motion. AYES: Dobecka, Hastings, Bodenmiller, Webb NAYS: None 3. Staff Report a. Monthly Totals b. Activity update Member Hastings updated the Board on the December fundraiser event, Paws N Claus, listed current and future events Animal Services will be participating in, items needed at the shelter, fundraising ideas currently being explored as well as an update on two dogs that came in with broken bones and their treatment to adoption timeline. c. Medical Protocol Member Hastings reviewed with the Board the medical protocol regarding vaccinations and treatment for animals at the shelter. Options to vaccinate on intake will need further review to assure Animal Services is in compliance with all state laws before changing any current procedures. 4. Flower Mound Animal Services October 217 May 218 Vet Care General Fund: $1,18.84 Animal Care Fund: $3,658.42 Vaccines: $1,564.1 Cats: HCP+FELV HCP+FELV (Feline Leukemia-Rhinotracheitis-Calici-Panleukopenia) Dogs: DHCPP, Bordetella Vanguard Plus 5/CV Distemper, Canine Adenovirus type 2, Coronavirus, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus Nobivac: Intra-Trac 3 Canine Adenovirus type 2, Parainfluenza, Bordatella Bronchiseptica Vaccine Flower Mound Animal Services holds all strays for 5 days as per Town Ordinance. After 5 day stray hold period the animal becomes property of the Town of Flower Mound. Dogs and cats are temperament tested, vaccinated, and given Pyrantel Pamoate dewormer, after this time and either moved up for adoption, held for further review, transferred to a rescue group, or euthanized.
