Spayed and neutered dogs may compete in Veterans provided they are also entered in Exhibition only. All sweepstakes classes will be divided by sex. 6 to 9 Months Dogs 6 months of age and under 9 months of age on the day of the show. 9 to 12 Months Dogs 9 months of age and under 12 months of age on the day of the show 12 to 16 Months Dogs 12 months of age and under 16 months of age on the day of the show. 16 to 20 Months Dogs 16 months of age and under 20 month of age on the day of the show VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES 7 to 9 years Dogs 7 years of age and under 9 years of age on the day of the show. 9 to 11 years Dogs 9 years pf age and under 11 years of age on the day of the show. 11 years & over Dogs 11 years of age and older on the day of the show. JUDGING After each of the classes have been judged, the winners of each class in each of the Sweepstakes events will return to the ring for an overall winner and Best of Opposite Sex to be selected. PRIZE MONEY ALLOCATION All sweepstake prize money is allocated by percentage within each class. Prize money is dependent on the number of entries within a class and paid as follows:25% BCCC administration 25% First place in each class 20% Second place in each class 15% Third place in each class 10% Fourth place in each class 5%To be divided equally between Best in Sweepstakes and Best of Opposite Sex in Sweepstakes THE ENTRY LINE Entries from The Entry Line are also accepted. 2017 OBEDIENCE TRIAL Come on out to the BCCC Specialty Obedience trial! We re offering a full range of Classes to enter and you ll be sure to enjoy trialing under our very experienced and Beardie friendly Judge. Bring out your veterans and maybe try out a new prospect. Day of Competition Entries will be accepted, cut off time for day of entries is one hour prior to the scheduled start of the Obedience Trials on Tuesday, August 16 th, as per the CKC Rules. No entries will be accepted after the closing date, except for on the actual Day of Competition. 1 OBEDIENCE TRIAL Tuesday, August 8 th The following official classes will be offered at this Specialty: Pre-Novice Novice A, Novice B, Novice C, Novice Intermediate Open A, Open B Utility A, Utility B OBEDIENCE INFORMATION The precincts of the trials and all rules and regulations governing the show, will also apply to the Obedience Trials. The Obedience Chairman shall have full control of the trial. BITCHES IN SEASON Bitches in season are not permitted to compete under C.K.C. Rules. We will refund all entry and listing fees if a bitch comes into season after closing date upon presentation of a veterinarian s certificate, certifiying the bitch was in season within the 10-day period preceding the trial. This certificate must be delivered to or reach the Trial Secretary before the trial commences. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO OBEDIENCE EXHIBITORS There is no limitation on the number of trials at which a dog may be entered as a listed dog, except that a dog which has obtained three qualifying scores at obedience trials held under C.K.C rules may not continue to compete at licensed obedience trials held under the Club s rules until the dog is registered individually with the C.K.C. Foreign born and owned dogs, please refer to Event Registration Number (ERN) information listed elsewhere. A dog which has won a comparable degree in any foreign country is not eligible for entry in the Novice A class but may be entered in the Novice B class if it has not earned its C.D.degree in Canada. A dog which has won it s C.D. degree in Bermuda or the U.S. or has won a comparable degree in a foreign country may be entered in the Novice B class if it has not earned it s C.D. degree in Canada. NOVICE A CLASS: OPEN A CLASS: One dog only may be entered in this class by any one exhibitor One dog only may be entered in this class by any one exhibitor. NOTE: A dog entered in either of these classes must be handled in the ring by the owner or a member of his/her immediate family. 2017 RALLY OBEDIENCE TRIALS 2 RALLY TRIALS Tuesday, August 8th The following classes will be offered at this Specialty: Novice A Novice B Intermediate Advanced A Advanced B Excellent A Excellent B RALLY OBEDIENCE INFORMATION The precincts of the trials and all rules and regulations governing the show, will also apply to the Rally Obedience Trials. The Obedience Chairman shall have full control of the trial. Rally Ring Dimensions In accordance with the new CKC Rally Regulations effective Janaury 1 st, 2015, the size of the rally ring shall be between 2,000 & 3,000 square feet with a minimum width of 30 feet. The rally ring for this trial will be 40 feet X 50 feet. It shall be the duty and obligation of the show giving club to see that a judge, club official, volunteer or any participant is not subject to indignities. The Conformation Show Committee Chair shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of this regulation, and the Discipline Committee shall have the authority to take such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating that this has occurred. (See Section 19.7)

SPECIALTY TROPHIES Perpetual Trophies are offered to BCCC members residing in Canada. They will be retained by the club member until one month prior to the next BCCC Specialty, at which time they must be returned in the same condition they were received. All Perpetual Trophies that are won by non-members will remain in the custody of the Club and their names shall be inscribed thereon. Rosettes & prizes will be offered for Best in Sweepstakes, Best of Opposite Sex in Sweepstakes, Best in Veteran Sweepstakes, Best Opposite Sex in Sweepstakes, Rosettes for 1 to 4 place in each class in sweepstakes, 1 st to 4 place in each class in Veteran Sweepstakes. Rosettes & prizes for Award of Merit, Best Junior Handler, High in Obedience Trial, High in each class in Obedience & Rally. Rosettes for 2 nd to 4 th place in each obedience class and rally class, Qualifying scores Pre-Novice, Select Dog and Select Bitch. CLASSIFICATION OF CONFORMATION CLASSES The following C.K.C. classes (divided by sex) will be provided at this Specialty Show: OFFICIAL CLASSES: BABY PUPPY - Dogs 3 months of age and under 6 months of age on the day of the show JUNIOR PUPPY - For puppies 6 months and under 9 months of age on the day of specialty. SENIOR PUPPY - For puppies 9 months and under 12 months of age on the day of speciality 12-18 MONTH - For dogs at least 12 months and under 18 months of age on the day of specialty CANADIAN BRED - For dogs born in Canada, champions in any country excluded. BRED BY EXHIBITOR - For dogs owned and handled in the ring by the breeder. Entry may be made by any person who is the owner/co-owner or breeder/co-breeder of the dog. That person must handle the dog in the class but need not handle the dog for a higher award. OPEN CLASS - For all dogs and bitches. VETERANS CLASS - For all dogs and bitches 7 years of age and over on the date of the specialty. These dogs and bitches to compete for the regular placements, and the 1 st place dog and bitch will go on to compete for Best of Breed. The winner of the Veterans Class will not compete for points but go directly into the Best of Breed competition. Spayed/Neutered dogs may compete in Veterans SPECIALS ONLY - For all dogs and bitches recognized as champions in the records of the C.K.C. Listed dogs cannot be entered into the Specials Class. NON-REGULAR CLASSES: NOTE: All dogs and bitches entered in non-regular and unofficial classes MUST be entered in one of the regular classes or exhibition only. STUD DOG - Shall be for a dog and 2 or more of his get. The get must also be entered in one of the official C.K.C.classes or for Specials Only. The dogs comprising the entry need not be owned by the same owner. BROOD BITCH - Shall be for a bitch and 2 or more of her progeny. The progeny must also be entered in one of the official C.K.C. classes or for Specials Only. The dogs comprising the entry need not be owned by the same owner. BRACE - Shall be for 2 dogs, of either sex, or same sex. Both dogs must be entered in one of the official C.K.C. classes or Specials Only and should be judged as an identical pair, same colour, size, gait, stride. They must be handled by 1 person on 1 lead. EXHIBITION ONLY - Spayed or neutered dogs may be entered in Exhibition Only. NOTE - Dogs and bitches entered for Exhibition Only, may only compete in the non-regular and unofficial classes. Spayed or neutered dogs may be entered in Veterans Sweepstakes AWARDS OF MERIT - One Award of Merit per 10 dogs competing for Best of Breed. SEXUALLY ALTERED CLASSES: ALTERED MALE CLASS - All sexually altered males, regardless of age will be judged together. ALTERED FEMALE CLASS - All sexually altered females, regardless of age will be judged together. Winner of each of these two divisions competes for Best Altered in Breed.

CHAMPIONS & CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS SECTION 1: A dog awarded WINNERS at a championship show held under these Dog Show Rules shall be credited with a number of championship points (ranging from 0 to 5) and the determination of the number of championship points to be credited to a dog awarded WINNERS shall be as provided hereunder. SECTION 2: The schedule to be employed in the determination of the number of points to be allocated a dog awarded WINNERS shall be as follows: Dogs Competing: 1 2 3-5 6-9 10-12 13 or more POINTS ALLOCATED* 0 1 2 3 4 5 *Includes the dog awarded WINNERS To determine the numbers of championship points earned by a dog awarded WINNERS total all the dogs in competition which the dog defeated, directly or indirectly, for the highest of the following official breed awards: Winners, Best of Winners, Best of Breed or Best of Opposite Sex and then consult the schedule set forth above. JUNIOR HANDLING COMPETITION Wednesday, August 10, 2017 Held under CKC Rules, Effective January 1, 2006-01-15 Junior Conformation Handling will be held during lunch on July 23rd. The show secretary at the show site will accept entries the day of the competiton and one hour prior to the posted time for competition. Classes will be divided by age of the handler as follows: PEE WEE CLASS - This class is for handlers 4 years of age up to 6 years of age on the day of the competition. This class is optional and non-tcompetitive. No placements are to be awarded; only participant ribbons, rosettes and token trophies may be presented. JUNIOR NOVICE - This class is for handlers 7 to 10 years of age on the day of the competition, who have not won 6 first places in the same class with competition. JUNIOR OPEN - This class is for handlers 7 to 10 years of age on the day of the competition, who have won 6 first places with competition. INTERMEDIATE NOVICE CLASS - This class is for handlers 11 to 14 years of age on the day of the competition, who have not won 6 first places in the same class with competition. INTERMEDIATE OPEN CLASS - This class is for handlers 11 to 14 years of age on the day of the competition, who have won 6 first places with competition and for any handler who has progressed through the Junior Open level and feels that he has enough experience to compete at this level. SENIOR NOVICE CLASS -This class is for handlers 15 years of age on the day of the competition and up to 18 years of age, who have not won 6 first places with competition in this class. Handlers from the Intermediate levels progress to this class. SENIOR OPEN CLASS -This class is for handlers 15 years of age on the day of the competition, and up to 18 years of age, who have won 6 first places with competition in the Senior Novice Class, and for any handler who has progressed through the Intermediate Open level and feels that he has enough experience to compete at this level. BEST OVERALL - Placement ribbons will be offered for all Junior and Senior handling classes. A trophy will be offered to the Best Overall Junior Handler DOG SHOW RULES The Exhibitor is responsible for knowing and complying with the Dog Show Rules of the Canadian Kennel Club. AUCTION DONATIONS The annual auction will be held on Wednesday evening with the Annual Awards Banquet. Please search your house, garage and attic for anything you are willing to donate. We re looking for those one-of-a-kind items that will create a bidding frenzy amongst the group. The Club relies very much on the success on the auction to cover Specialty expenses. You may bring your auction donations to the show site or send them ahead of time.
