The person handling the dog must be a breeder of record of the dog AND an owner of record of the dog. To exhibit in this class, family members must be a breeder AND owner of record. NON-REGULAR CLASSES (Involving Single Dog Entries) EACH VARIETY VETERAN DOGS VETERAN BITCHES (Class for Dogs and Class for Bitches 7 Years of Age and Older) Neutered Dogs & Spayed Bitches are allowed to compete in Veteran Classes Note: Winners of both Veteran Classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Variety. BEST OF VARIETY COMPETITION BEST OF BREED COMPETITION The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Variety Competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which according to their owner s records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed Competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. NON-REGULAR CLASSES (Involving Multiple Dog Entries) INTERVARIETY STUD DOG CLASS: For Stud Dogs and two of their get. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their Get. The owner of the Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of the Get. Get only to be judged, based on the merits of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard for its breed. The Stud Dog and two of his Get shall be considered as one entry and requires only one entry fee, this being $15.00 if the Stud Dog is entered in a Regular Class. If entered as Stud Dog Only, fee is $25.00. Get must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed competition, or some other non-regular class. BROOD BITCH CLASS: For Brood Bitches and two of their Produce. Brood Bitches must be entered in the Brood Bitch Class and must be shown in the ring with their Produce. The owner of the Brood Bitch need not necessarily be owner of the Produce. While the merits of the Brood Bitch are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Brood Bitch must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard for its breed. The Brood Bitch and two of her Produce shall be considered as one entry and requires only one entry fee, this being $15.00 if the Brood Bitch is entered in a Regular Class. If entered as Brood Bitch Only, fee is $25.00. Produce must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed competition, or some other non-regular class. NOTE: As the judge s decision in the Stud Dog or Brood Bitch Class is based on the merits of more than one dog/ bitch, no one of the dogs/bitches making up the entry judged first in these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION NOVICE CLASS: For Boys and girls who are at least 10 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Places in a Novice Class, with competition, at a licensed or member show. OPEN CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 10 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places in a Novice Junior Showmanship Class, with competition, at a licensed or member show. For more information on eligibility requirements for Junior Showmanship and dog handled in Jr. Showmanship, write to the American Kennel Club, Show Plans, 5580 Centerview Dr., Raleigh, NC 27606-3390. SWEEPSTAKES The Sweepstakes is open to all Bull Terriers who are 6 months and under 18 months of age on the day of the Show. Sweepstakes will be judged prior to the Regular Classes. All dogs and bitches entered in Sweepstakes MUST ALSO be entered in a Regular Class at this Specialty, at the regular entry fee. Entries must be made at the same time and on the same entry form as the regular classes. Indicate "Sweepstakes" and age division on the regular entry form under Additional Classes. ENTRY FEE: $15.00 for each dog or bitch entered in Sweepstakes in addition to regular entry fee. No puppy born after December 6, 2002 is eligible for this Sweepstakes. DOGS ENTERED IN THE SWEEPSTAKES CLASSES MUST BE HANDLED BY THE OWER OR AN AMATEUR. (HANDLER'S ASSISTANTS MAY PARTICIPATE. HOWEVER, PROFESSIONAL HANDLERS MAY HANDLE THEIR OWN DOGS ONLY.) No AKC Champion of Record may be entered and compete in the Sweepstakes. NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS The American Kennel Club Rules and Regulations will govern this Show and Exhibitors must make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany this Show Premium List. A RECORDING FEE will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show, Obedience Trial or Tracking Test. This Recording Fee is to be collected by the Show-giving Club and paid to the American Kennel Club. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, the Recording Fee is to be collected on the first entry only. (American Kennel Club Rule. Chapter 11, Section 2). CANADIAN EXHIBITORS MUST SUBMIT ENTRIES WITH CHECKS DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS OR WITH INTERNA- TIONAL MONEY ORDERS IN U.S. FUNDS Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Superintendent will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. No Entry will be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Telegraph, e-mail and unsigned entries cannot be accepted and will be returned. Entries not on Official AKC Entry Forms and Photocopies of Entry Forms without the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side are NOT ACCEPTABLE. The Club and/or its Superintendent assumes no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or the owner s agent. THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE COMPLETENESS OF ANY ENTRY RESTS SOLELY WITH THE ENTRANT. Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by the Judge or Veterinarian, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee, or because it has been entered incorrectly. There is no refund of entry fee for bitches in season. There is no refund for DUPLICATE ENTRIES or OVERPAYMENTS. The Superintendent will make every effort to find all duplicate entries, but if entry has been processed, no refund will be made. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open, or to complete the Show NO REFUND will be made. RETURNED CHECKS DO NOT CONSTITUTE A VALID ENTRY FEE. The Superintendent will add a $20.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitor or agent may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY BASIS. REFUNDS for cancellations due to judge change or cancellations made prior to entries closing will be mailed to said Exhibitor or Agent AFTER THE SHOW. An administrative fee of $5.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries cancelled prior to the closing of entries. Only dogs eligible for this show will be admitted into the show area. There is no provision for unentered dogs. The judging will start promptly. Dogs may arrive anytime prior to their time of judging, and may leave immediately thereafter, unless required for further judging. ENTRIES WILL BE ACKNOWLEDGED after entries close with entry acknowledgment and judging program to address on entry. LOSS OR DAMAGE The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of any accident or misfortune, to either dogs or exhibitors participating in these Shows. The welfare of an Exhibitor s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the Exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that Exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children on the day of the show. FAX ENTRIES Fax entries will be accepted up to closing time.
