Eligible Dogs: These trials are open to all dogs fifteen (15) months of age or older that are registered with the American Kennel Club or that have AKC Limited Registration, Purebred Alternate Listing/Indefinite Listing Privileges (PAL/ILP) or an AKC Canine Partners listing number, or approved Foundation Stock Service (FSS) breeds. Blind, lame, or aggressive dogs, and bitches in season are ineligible to compete. No dog will participate who is taped or bandaged in any way or has anything medical attached for any purpose. Dogs may wear a flat buckle or rolled leather collar. There shall be no attachments or tags, hanging or otherwise allowed. The dog may run without a collar. Dogs must be on leash at all times, except when in the ring or at the practice jump. Exhibitors Responsibility: It is the responsibility of the exhibitors to take care of their dogs and to clean any area(s) soiled by their dogs. Exhibitors will be held responsible for clean conditions in and around their crates and setup areas. Please sign-up to work when you arrive at the trial! It takes a lot of people to run an agility trial. The Club would appreciate your help in making sure the trial is a success and hopes that everyone will volunteer for at least one to two positions each day! Thank you for your help! 2

Show Site & Hours: Trials will be conducted in One Ring 100 X100 outdoors on grass. Friday: Trial site hours are 10:00 AM to 30 minutes after the last dog runs. Personal set-up will not begin until after the trial set-up is complete. Saturday & Sunday: Trial site hours are 7:30 AM to 30 minutes after the last dog runs. Obstacles: Obstacles will conform to current requirements of the AKC Regulations for Agility Trials. Course Walk Through & Warm Up Information Handlers in all classes will be permitted to walk the course without a dog prior to the start of the class. A warm up area consisting of a single regulation agility jump will be provided. No agility obstacle training is allowed on the show grounds except for the use of the warm-up jump. Classes: It is the exhibitor s responsibility to enter the dog in the correct class. The trial secretary cannot make any changes (except for move-ups & as provided for in Chapter 1 Section 21 of the Agility Trial Regulations) after the closing date of the trial. Please consult the AKC Regulations for Agility Trials for a complete description and eligibility to enter into these classes. The exhibitor is fully responsible to enter into the correct class(es) and height divisions. Dogs running in a lower or higher height division than they are eligible will be eliminated. Height Divisions Regular Preferred Height at the Withers Handler may opt to run their dog at a higher height division. Handler must run their dog at the proper height division. It is the exhibitor s responsibility to have their dog measured prior to running if necessary. If your dog is measured into a taller jump height class, he must be moved up into it at the trial. If your dog is measured down, he cannot be moved into a lower jump class. Measuring will take place at 8:15 AM, August 11 th & 12 th, 2018 and 11:00PM if needed August 10 th. It is the sole responsibility of the exhibitor to have their original, official jump height card or temporary jump height form at each trial to present upon request. Jump Height Card Process: There is a new section at the top of the form for exhibitors to designate whether your dog has a valid jump height card or needs to be measured. Please mark the appropriate box, so the trial secretary knows whether to include your dog on the Dogs to be Measured List. Online vs. Paper Entry Primary Limits: During the first 48 hours after opening, the initial limit of entries designated as either online entries or paper entries will be as follows: Online Entries: 50%: Paper entries: 50%. If either form of entry has not filled at the end of the 48 hour period, OTCC reserves the right to adjust the limits. Maximum entries per envelope: A maximum of 10 entries per envelope is allowed. Envelopes with more than 10 entries and/or entries received prior to the opening date will be returned. Note: Conditional, unsigned, incomplete, illegible, telephone, fax, or telegraph entries cannot be accepted. Overnight mail entries should have the no signatures box checked. Entries not on an AKC form (that includes the disclaimer form on the back) are not acceptable. Please make sure only AKC recognized prefixes and suffixes are used on all entries. Email confirmation will be sent to those listing a legible email address. Final entry confirmation and judging schedule will be e-mailed or sent to the entry address as soon as possible after the closing date. If you have not received confirmation at least 7 days prior to the show, contact the Trial Secretary. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry. Wait List Information: OTCC is offering a wait list to fill openings created by withdrawn entries after the trial s closing date/time. A maximum of 20 entries will be placed on the club s wait list. All entries, including wait list entries must be received by the Trial Secretary prior to Wednesday, July 25, 2018, 8:00PM. Any entries withdrawn by August 6, 2018, 8:00PM will be replaced by a wait list entry if any are available. If a withdrawn entry is replaced by a wait listed entry, a full refund will be issued for the withdrawn entry, including bitches that come in to heat. Any wait-listed entry that does not move off the wait list into the trial by August 6, 2018, 8:00PM will receive a full refund. Move-Ups: Move up to a higher class will be allowed if received by the Trial Secretary in writing by Monday, August 6, 2018, 8:00pm AST. No move-ups will be accepted after that date and time. Move-ups for Saturday or Sunday will be allowed if received by the trial secretary in writing within 30 minutes of the end of judging on the previous day at the trial site. No move ups will be accepted after that time. Verbal changes will not be accepted. Notices to Exhibitors This trial will be held under the AKC rules and regulations for agility trials. Exhibitors are expected to be familiar with these rules and regulations. Bitches in season are not allowed within the fenced field. FOOD: An on-site food vendor is planned for Saturday and Sunday. Trophies: Ribbons for first, second, third, fourth place, qualifying scores, and new titles will be given. A Double Q ribbon and pin will be awarded to dogs earning a Double Q in Masters. MACH, PACH, PAX and Titling ribbons will be awarded to those earning titles at these trials. Token: Each entered dog will receive one toy for the weekend. Event Cancellation: No refund of entry will be made for riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management if it is impossible to open or complete the trial. The well-being of the dogs, exhibitors, and spectators is of paramount importance, and in the event it is necessary to cancel or stop the event before completion, no refund of entry will be made. There will be no refunds for entries withdrawn after the closing date with two exceptions. Dogs replaced by wait listed dogs will receive a full refund. With written notice, handlers with bitches who come in to heat after the closing date and before or during the trial, may receive a refund of entry fees minus $10 (if they cannot be replaced by a waitlisted entry). Written notice can be by email and must be to the Trial Secretary. 5

Safety, Behavior, and Liability If the dog/handler is dismissed from the competition, regardless of the reason, there will be no refund. Owners or handlers entering dogs in a trial do so at their own risk and agree to assume responsibility for any damage caused by them, or by their dogs. They also agree to abide by the Rules of the American Kennel Club and these Regulations. All persons attending this dog show hereby waive any claim for damages against the Obedience Training Club of Chugiak, Inc. or its members, in the event a motor vehicle must be entered to rescue a dog from overheating or suffocation due to improper ventilation. The welfare of an exhibitor s child is the responsibility of the exhibitor, who must exercise control and restraint over the child while the child is on the show premises. Failure to do so will result in action by the Trial Committee. A Trial Committee may decline any entries or may remove any dog from its event for cause, but in each such instance shall file good and sufficient reasons for doing so with the American Kennel Club. A dog that in the opinion of the judge attacks any person in the ring shall be disqualified. The judge will excuse a dog that attacks another dog in the ring or if the judge witnesses a dog attack another dog while entering or exiting the ring. I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. Additionally, I (we) hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify, defend and save the aforementioned parties harmless from any and all loss and expense (including legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties for damage because of bodily injuries, including death at any time resulting therefrom, sustained by any person or persons, including myself (ourselves), or on account of damage to property, arising out of or in consequence of my (our) participation in this event, however such, injuries, death or property damage may be caused, and whether or not the same may have been caused or may be alleged to have been caused by the negligence of the aforementioned parties or any of their employees, agents, or any other person. All dogs that have not been officially measured for an Agility Jump Height Card may still compete; however, they must be measured by a Judge of record, an Agility Field Representative, or a Volunteer Measuring Official, prior to running. If measured by the Judge of record, that measurement will be valid for this trial or back-to-back trials only. If a measurement is necessary, it is the exhibitor s responsibility to have their dog(s) measured prior to running. Dogs listed in the AKC Canine Partners Program SM may be eligible to enter all-breed AKC agility trials at the club s option.
