WELCOME TO ENVIROGUARD PEST SOLUTIONS! WE ARE UNIQUE 2

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO WORK FOR A QUALITY PRO CERTIFIED COMPANY? SOLVE THE WORD SCRAMMBLE! A Taem yuo cna suttr A Fsapeirlnoso sisbeuns sfastidie ouretcmss (Answer: A team you can trust; professional business; satisfied customers) 3

Thousands, sometimes millions of termites live in an underground colony searching for food wood! They like the wood found in houses to feed colony members and to service the queen termite. Believe it or not, these guys can travel the length of a football field in search of food! 4

IS IT A TERMITE OR AN ANT? ANTENNAE: Ants antennae are elbowed. Termites antennae are straight. WAIST: Ants waists are narrow and pinched. Termites are thicker. WINGS: Ants front pair of wings are longer than the back and don t break off easily. Termites wings are equal in length and break off easily. (OUCH!) (Answer: The ant is the left and the termite is on the right.) 5

HOW IT WORKS 1. We inspect the property for signs of termites. 2. We install Sentricon stations in the soil around your home. 3. We service the Sentricon stations by monitoring termite activity, bait the termites until the colony is gone. 6

CAN YOU FIND THE SENTRICON STATIONS? 7

There are over 10,000 types of ants that have been identified world-wide. 600 species live in the U.S. Sugar Ant Fire Ant Pharaoh Ant 8

Carpenter ants burrow and nest in dead trees and speed up the decay of wood. Can you find which carpenter ant is different? 9

Bed bugs aren t only in nursery rhymes. They like to travel in suitcases, second-hand furniture, and of course beds. 10

Birds are fun to watch and many can sing a song, but many times their nests can damage property and lead to safety hazards when they are allowed to roost on or around buildings. Finish the drawing 11

Not everyone loves the sound of chirping. Sometimes crickets can just be plain annoying. They love moist environments. Thankfully, they rarely do damage or harm. 12

Most carpenters are welcome, but carpenter bees are not. Instead of building you a tree house, they drill and build their nests in the wood of your home! 13

People think cockroaches like to hang out in dirty houses, but that really isn t the case. These pests like to hang out around kitchen sinks, books, and papers. Maybe they are just looking for a good read! 14

Is a daddy longlegs a dad or does he just have long legs? Believe it or not, these guys aren t even real spiders! Spiders have two body sections and daddy longlegs have one. 15

Fleas like to hide indoors in carpets, pets beds, and like to catch a ride on the family pet. Unfortunately, they LOVE to make dogs itch! 16

Bears are not the only ones that hibernate. When cold weather arrives, they enter you home through cracks in the foundation or siding and around windows and fireplaces. They remain in a hibernation state, enjoying both security until they feel the warmth of the sun or are warmed by your heating system Which one is different? 17

Believe it or not, honeybees have been disappearing across America. This is a concern because honeybees pollinate not only flowers, but also many food crops. So, if you see a honeybee, be sure to thank him! 18

Many people are fond of ladybugs because of their colorful appearance. Farmers love them for their appetite because they eat plant-eating insects, which protect crops, but some people don t want them around their homes because they can cause nasal congestion, asthma, and eye irritation. Finish the patterns 19

Rats and mice may look kind of cute, but they chew everything. They will eat pet food, your food, and also go through your garbage. That s a good reason to keep your room clean! Which path should a rat take to make it home? 20

When standing water is around, mosquitoes can be a problem. Their painful bites not only make people itchy, but they can also spread disease. Be sure you have no pools of water around pet bowls, fountains, flowerpots, and toys. No one wants to be bitten by these guys! 21

Moths are not only attracted to lights. Some moths are attracted to clothes, rugs, and blankets. Others, known as meal moths like to nibble on crackers, nuts, candy, and other flour products. 22

Powder post beetles get their name because they leave a powder residue outside of the holes that they bore into trees. This group of insets attack wood before and after it has been milled, finished, and installed in structures or made into furniture. 23

Scorpions like to hide during the day. They are most active at night and their nesting sites can be found with a black light. 24

Silverfish love to eat glue, paper, magazine, book bindings, and photographs. They prefer cool, dark places. Stinkbugs are stinkers not because they eat beans (we re just kidding), but because emit a really stinky odor when threatened. I guess no one should take their food! 25

Tall grass and weeds around your home provide hiding places for mice and rats. That is like a dinner bell for snakes. Eliminating this habitat is just the first step in making snakes move away from your house. 26

Believe it or not, spiders are pretty great at pest control. They trap bugs, flies, and beetles in their webs. In order to keep them out of your house, be sure to eliminate their food source. 27

No one wants to be a meal. Ticks are smaller than the size of a sunflower seed, but can have quite the appetite. They usually live in or near heavily wooded areas with shrubbery and grass. They can easily attach themselves to passing animals. 28

Wasps eat a wide range of thing spiders, caterpillars, ants, flies, and even fruit. These insects can sting over and over again if anyone or anything invades their space. 29
