Senior-15 years and under 18 years old on the day of the show. (Novice Classes not offered at this specialty) BRED BY EXHIBITOR DOGS BRED BY EXHIBITOR BITCHES The Bred-by-Exhibitor Class shall be for dogs that are: Individually registered with the American Kennel Club as of the date of closing of entries for the show and owned or co-owned by any of the breeders of record as of the date of the closing of entries for the show. The person handling the dog in this class must be a breeder of record and an owner of record of this dog. AMERICAN BRED DOGS AMERICAN BRED BITCHES OPEN DOGS OPEN BITCHES OPEN CLASSES DIVIDED, BOTH SEXES: Open Tawny, Open Black, Open Grey All dogs and bitches entered in the Open Class MUST have the color of dog/bitch listed on the entry form in the Class Division box. Entries without color listed are not acceptable. Winners of the above classes will compete for: WINNERS DOG WINNERS BITCH Non-Regular Classes (Involving Single Dog Entries) VETERAN DOG CLASS I (7 yrs. & under 9 yrs.) Spayed and Neutered animals are eligible HERDING TITLE DOG CLASS HERDING TITLE BITCH CLASS A Class for Dogs/Bitches that have achieved an AKC Herding Trial title (HS, HI, HX, HCH). Winners of the above non-regular classes, if otherwise undefeated, will compete for Best of Breed. BEST OF BREED COMPETITION AWARD OF MERIT: At the end of the Best of Breed competition, the judge will choose some other dogs or bitches in that competition that she feels are of equal merit to the Best of Breed winner. The maximum number of Award of Merit prizes will be one per ten Briards showing up for the Best of Breed Competition with a maximum of 10 prizes. BOB and BOS do not receive Awards of Merit. BEST PUPPY FROM THE REGULAR PUPPY CLASSES: Winners in the Regular Puppy Classes (6-9 mos. & 9-12 mos.) will compete for this Special Award. Non-Regular Classes (Involving multiple Dog Entries) STUD DOG CLASS: For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. Stud dog must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and shown in the ring with their Get. Owner of the Stud Dog need not necessarily be the owner of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard for its breed. Get must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed, or some other non-regular class. BROOD BITCH CLASS: For Brood Bitches and two of their Produce. Brood Bitch must be entered in the Brood Bitch Class and shown in the ring with their Produce. Owner of the Brood Bitch need not necessarily be the owner of the Produce. While the merits of the Brood Bitch are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Brood Bitch must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard for its breed. Produce must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed, or some other non-regular class. BRACE CLASS: For two dogs that are similar in appearance, performing in unison and presented by a maximum of two handlers. Both dogs competing in brace competitions must have a least one common owner. Dogs need not be entered in another class. Brace Class must be indicated on the entry form. If more than one Brace is entered by common owners, the dogs comprising each Brace Unit must be designated Brace #1, Brace #2, etc. NOTE: As the judge s decision in the Stud Dog, Brood Bitch and Brace Classes is based on the merits of more than one dog/bitch, no one of the dogs/bitches making up the entry judged first in these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. All dogs and bitches entered in Sweepstakes MUST ALSO be entered in a Regular Class at this Specialty, at the regular entry fee. The Sweepstakes is open to all Briard dogs/bitches who are at least 6 months of age and under 18 months of age on the day of the Sweepstakes. Entries must be made at the same time and on the same entry form as the regular classes, indicating in the space for Additional Classes your entry in Sweepstakes. Owner or breeder or member of their family must handle entries. Should the owner or breeder be unable to handle or have more than one dog in the same class, any non-professional handler will be acceptable. NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS The American Kennel Club Rules and Regulations will govern this Show and Exhibitors must make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany this Show Premium List. The AKC will collect a $1.50 AKC Event Service Fee and 50 cent Recording Fee for the first entry of a dog in all AKC licensed and member dog shows, obedience trials, and tracking tests. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, the Event/Recording Fees to be collected on the first entry only. (AKC Rule. Ch.11, Sec. 2). In accordance with AKC Rally regulations, the AKC will collect a $3.00 per entry of dog Rally Event Service Fee. A show-giving club shall assume the responsibility of collecting all Recording Fees and Event Service Fees for AKC. CANADIAN EXHIBITORS MUST SUBMIT ENTRIES WITH CHECKS DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS OR WITH INTERNA- TIONAL MONEY ORDERS IN U.S. FUNDS Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Superintendent will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. No Entry will be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Telegraph, e-mail and unsigned entries cannot be accepted and will be returned. Entries not on Official AKC Entry Forms and Photocopies of Entry Forms without the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side are NOT ACCEPTABLE. The Club and/or its Superintendent assumes no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or the owner s agent. RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE COMPLETENESS OF ENTRY RESTS SOLELY WITH THE ENTRANT. Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by the Judge or Veterinarian, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee, or because it has been entered incorrectly. There is no refund of entry fee for bitches in season. There is no refund for DUPLICATE ENTRIES or OVERPAYMENTS. The Superintendent will make every effort to find all duplicate entries, but if entry has been processed, no refund will be made. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open, or to complete the Show NO REFUND will be made. RETURNED CHECKS DO NOT CONSTITUTE A VALID ENTRY FEE. The Superintendent will add a $20.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitor or agent may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY BASIS. REFUNDS for cancellations due to judge change or cancellations made prior to entries closing will be mailed to said Exhibitor or Agent AFTER THE SHOW. An administrative fee of $5.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries cancelled prior to the closing of entries. Only dogs eligible for these shows will be admitted into the show area. There is no provision for unentered dogs. Entries will be acknowledged after entries close with entry acknowledgment and judging program to address on entry. LOSS OR DAMAGE The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of any accident or misfortune, to either dogs or exhibitors participating in these Shows. The welfare of an Exhibitor s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the Exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that Exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations.
