ENTRY FEE: TD: $55.00; TDX: $110.00 (includes $2.00 AKC recording & $1.50 Event Service fees) Fees must be paid in U.S. Funds. Fees payable to DCA. Non-titled TD entries MUST be accompanied by original certification by an authorized AKC tracking judge. ELIGIBILITY: TD: All Dachshunds possessing the title of TD, TDX or VST, or dogs who have passed a certification track by an authorized AKC tracking judge are eligible to enter this test. TDX: All Dachshunds possessing the title of TD, TDX or VST are eligible to enter this test. Please note the preference order for dachshunds and other breeds below. ALL ENTRIES will be accepted until the official closing date, even though the advertised limit has been reached. A drawing will be held on Wednesday, February 25 at 12:00 PM at the home of the secretary, 7572 English Coach Lane, Hazelwood, MO 63042 to determine which entrants will participate in the TDX test, and the TD test. Entrants are invited to attend. The drawing shall be completely random among all entries received, except that preference will be given in the following order: -Dachshunds who have not previously earned a TD or TDX title -Dachshunds who have earned a TD, TDX, or VST title -Other breeds without a TD or TDX title -Other breeds with a TD, TDX, or VST titles In the event that either test does not fill its limit, then the number of tracks may be substituted for the other test, with the exchange being in the ratio of 2 TD tracks to 1 TDX track. When the advertised limit has been drawn all remaining entrants, subject to the same preferences set forth in the preceding paragraph, shall be assigned a position on an alternate list corresponding to the order in which they were drawn. The alternates will be asked to agree to be at the test site in case of absent dogs. Alternates not used will receive full refund of entry fees. DCA will also refund entry fees to any confirmed entry that does not participate in the test, provided that the Test Secretary is notified prior to the date of the test, and provided that an alternate entry participates in test as result of withdrawal. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT will be mailed by the Test Secretary after the closing of entries. Should such an acknowledgement not be received by the exhibitor within reasonable time, please notify the Test Secretary at 314-839-1572. Acknowledgements may be obtained via email by providing your address on entry. TEST HEADQUARTERS DIRECTIONS: Located in the parking lot of the West Branch Forest Preserve at the intersection of Gerber Road and Army Trail Roads in Hanover Park, IL. Army Trail Road can be accessed from either Route 59 in the west or 355 from the east. From far SE and far SW- I-80 to 355N to Army Trial, west about 7 miles to Gerber. From North- Rt 53S to Army Trail then west about 7 miles to Gerber or I-90 east or west to Rt 59 south to Army Trail then west about 2 miles to Gerber. From South- 1355 north to Army Trail then west about 7 miles to Gerber. From SW- I-88 to Rt 59 north to Army Trail about 2 miles to Gerber. ALL ENTERED DOGS must be at Site Headquarters by 8:30am. Drawings will be held for track running order for each dog entered. The first tracks will be run as soon thereafter as is practical after they have aged the proper length of time. In the event of any absentee(s) among confirmed entries, the next alternate in catalog order who is present will be allowed to fill the vacancy. BITCHES IN SEASON may participate subject to provisions set in the latest Tracking Regulations. BY THEIR PRESENCE on the Tracking grounds, all exhibitors and spectators agree to abide by AKC Rules and Regulations and to follow the instructions of the Test Committee to the best of their ability. Ch. 1, Sec. 22 AKC Obedience Regulations, The owner or agent entering a dog in an obedience trial (tracking test) does so at his own risk THE DACHSHUND CLUB OF AMERICA, INC. will exercise all reasonable care for the safety of dogs, handlers, and spectators, but will not be responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to any dog or person on the test grounds. The Dachshund Club of America DOES NOT AGREE to arbitrate claims as set forth on the Official AKC entry form for this event. DOGS THAT ARE NOT ACTUALLY COMPETING will go where instructed and all dogs shall be on lead at all times on any area of the tracking site. Dogs allowed to run free and off-lead, at any time before the test, during a test, after failing or after the completion of its track, shall be failed and excused. If this occurs before the test, the dog shall be excused and not allowed to run in the test. (Tracking Regulations Chapter 1, Section 16.) REFRESHMENTS: Morning refreshments will be provided. INSTRUCTIONS [1] (Variety) If you are entering a dog of a breed in which there are varieties for show purposes, please designate the particular variety you are entering, i.e., Cocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASCOB, parti-color), Beagles (not exceeding 13 in., over 13 in. but not exceeding 15 in.), Dachshunds (longhaired, smooth, wirehaired), Collies (rough, smooth), Bull Terriers (colored, white), Manchester Terriers (standard, toy), Chihuahuas (smooth coat, long coat), English Toy Spaniels (King Charles and Ruby, Blenheim and Prince Charles), Poodles (toy, miniature, standard). [2] The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which, according to their owners records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. [3] (Dog Show Class) Consult the classification in this premium list. If the dog show class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e., age division, color division, weight division. [4] A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for a show closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any show for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his name. I (we) waive any and all claims, causes of action, I (we) might otherwise have against the AKC and any AKC-approved judge, judging at this show, under AKC Rules, Regulations and Guidelines. I (we) agree that the club holding this show or obedience trial has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem to be sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of the show or obedience trial and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prize money, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold this club, its members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or show secretary and the owner or lessor of the premises and any employees of the aforementioned parties, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or upon the show or obedience trial premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss of this dog by disappearance, theft, death, or otherwise, and from any claim for damage or injury to the dog, whether such loss, disappearance, theft, damage or injury, be caused or alleged to be caused by the negligence of the club or any of the parties aforementioned, or by the negligence of any other person, or any other cause or causes. INSTRUCTIONS [1] (Variety) If you are entering a dog of a breed in which there are varieties for show purposes, please designate the particular variety you are entering, i.e., Cocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASCOB, parti-color), Beagles (not exceeding 13 in., over 13 in. but not exceeding 15 in.), Dachshunds (longhaired, smooth, wirehaired), Collies (rough, smooth), Bull Terriers (colored, white), Manchester Terriers (standard, toy), Chihuahuas (smooth coat, long coat), English Toy Spaniels (King Charles and Ruby, Blenheim and Prince Charles), Poodles (toy, miniature, standard). [2] The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which, according to their owners records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. [3] (Dog Show Class) Consult the classification in this premium list. If the dog show class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e., age division, color division, weight division. [4] A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for a show closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any show for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his name. State on entry form whether transfer application has been mailed to the AKC. (For complete rules, refer to Chapter 11, Section 3.)
