B Limit Obedience is confined to dogs which have not been awarded an Obedience Green Star or four or more first prizes in any Obedience Classes with the exception of Beginners, Novice or Graduate Obedience Classes. A Graduate Obedience is confined to dogs which have not been awarded an Obedience Green Star or four or more first prizes in any Obedience Class other than in Beginners and Novice Obedience Classes. Novice Obedience is confined to dogs which have not been awarded an Obedience Green Star or four or more first prizes in any Obedience Class other than in Beginners Obedience Class. Beginners Obedience is confined to dogs or handlers which have not been awarded an Obedience Green Star or won three or more first prizes in any Obedience Class under IKC rules and regulations OR ANY KENNEL CLUB RECOGNISED BY THE IKC. Special Introductory Beginners Class is confined to dogs or handlers which have not won a FIRST PRIZE in any Obedience Class under IKC rules and regulations OR ANY KENNEL CLUB RECOGNISED BY THE IKC. SPECIAL INTRODUCTORY BEGINNERS CLASS Aim:This test will serve as an introduction to basic competitive obedience and handlers will be encouraged to motivate their dog throughout the test. Toys and/or other training aids may be used briefly between exercises, although during the exercise, these must be placed on the Judges table. Toys should be of a suitable size and texture. Handlers will not be penalised for encouragement or extra commands except during the stay exercise. Food must not be used as an incentive and must not be brought into the ring. Judges or Stewards must not use the words last command except in the Stay exercise. THE TEST (1) Play With or Motivate Your dog 20 Points (2) Heel on lead 20 Points (3) Examination of the Dog (handler to show judge) 20 points (4) Recall With Finish 20 Points (5) Stay one minute, handler in sight 20 Points Total 100 Points (1) Play with or Motivate your dog 20 Points (handler s choice - on or off lead) It is recommended that the Judge commences with this exercise and that it last approximately 30 seconds. To show how a handler can motivate their dog in preparation for Obedience work. Handlers may use a toy for this exercise. Play should be under the handler s control and if it involves articles they should be readily given up by the dog. Formal exercises will not be deemed as appropriate. Any form of aggression must be penalised. (2) Heel on Lead 20 Points It is recommended that this exercise follows Play With or Motivate Your Dog and should last no more than one minute. This is an introduction to competitive heelwork and should be straightforward, include minimal turns and not more than two halts. A large circle is permissible in either direction, at the judge s discretion. The handler should walk briskly and the dog should walk with its shoulder approximately level with and reasonably close to the handler's leg at all times while the handler is walking. The lead should be slack at all times. The test will start and finish with the dog sitting at the handler's side. (3) Examination of the dog (handler to show judge) 20 Points The handler will show the judge how they can settle and examine their own dog. This exercise will be carried out on lead. The dog will be required to have its mouth, teeth, throat, eyes, ears and feet inspected when standing, sitting or lying down on either side or on its back.
(4) Recall with Finish 20 Points Recall from Sit or Down position at handler s choice. Dog to be recalled by handler when stationary and facing the dog. Dog to return smartly to the handler, sit in front, go to heel all on command of judge or steward to handler. (5) Stay one minute, handler in sight 20 Points (Group Exercise - off lead) (Stand, Sit or Down Stay, handler s choice) Handlers may face their dogs. Individual handlers may choose the stay position for their own dog. TOTAL DOG TRIATHLON 100 Points Combine points gained from your dog s best placing at our OBEDIENCE Show on 7 th July, with points gained for your dog s best placing in a JUMPING class plus an AGILITY class at our Agility Show on 25 th and 26 th August. SHOW REGULATIONS 1. The Show will be held under the Licence, Rules and Regulations of the Irish Kennel Club Ltd. 2. The Show will be held at Streamstown, Malahide, Co. Dublin. The Show opens at 8.30 am. Entry fees are: Introductory Beginners & Beginners 4 ( 3) per dog per entry Novice, A & B 6 ( 5) per dog per entry C 12 ( 10) per dog per entry 3. Catalogue and car park are included. Cheques etc. to be made payable to Fingal Dog Club. 4. ENTRIES CLOSE WEDNESDAY 20 th JUNE, 2012. 5. Dogs under 6 months of age are not eligible to enter. 6. Fingal Dog Club reserves the right to refuse any entry. 7. All dogs must be registered or transferred with the I.K.C. Ltd., save in the case of greyhounds duly registered with the Irish Coursing Club. 8. All wins prior to the day specified for the closing of entries shall be taken into account when entering any class. 9. Food shall not be given or carried in the ring. 10. Any article carried by the handler is subject to the judge s discretion, but must be indicated to the judge prior to the commencement of the test. 11. A complete Running Order will be made for C Open by the IKC. 12. It is the competitor s responsibility to be available for their class and running order, and only in exceptional circumstances will any changes be made to the running order providing that the class has not already closed. 13. Fingal Dog Club will not be responsible for any loss or damage sustained through accidents by exhibits, exhibitors or other persons attending the show. 14. Dogs must be kept under proper control at all times. 15. Exhibitors must clean up if their dogs foul the grounds. Suitable facilities will be provided for this. 16. No bitches in season are allowed on the showgrounds. 17. The mating of bitches within the precincts of the showgrounds is forbidden. 18. The Committee reserves the right to appoint a substitute Judge if circumstances prevent an appointed judge from fulfilling the appointment. 19. Should circumstances so dictate the Club, in consultation with the Judges may alter arrangements as necessary.

When you reach the traffic lights at Total Fitness/Tesco, turn LEFT on to the R107 main Dublin to Malahide road. Follow this road towards MALAHIDE for just over 3kms. Go through traffic lights and STREAMSTOWN is about 100 m. on the left. From North leave M1 at Junction 4 signed R132, MALAHIDE, SWORDS, and DONABATE. Keep following signs for MALAHIDE. Go through ESTUARY ROUNDABOUT and SEATOWN ROAD ROUNDABOUT. Take the FIRST turnoff at the MALAHIDE ROAD ROUNDABOUT, signed R106 MALAHIDE. Go straight through next mini roundabout. Turn RIGHT at traffic lights at T-junction, on to the R107, Dublin to Malahide road. Follow this road towards Dublin for 1.3 km and turn right into STREAMSTOWN. If you get to traffic lights you have gone 100 m. too far.
