Junior Poultry & Rabbit Department 1. Exhibitors must be in uniform. 2. Use a separate entry form for each department (i.e.: Poultry and Rabbit entries would go on separate entry forms). 3. Please fill out all entry forms completely, including breed, variety, sex, color and identification number. 4. Entry fees are $2.00 per entry, except as stated elsewhere. 5. All exhibitors will be responsible for one 3-hour shift one day to help care for animals. Sign-up for shifts at time of check-in. 6. Show management reserves the right to place more than one female of the same variety belonging to the same exhibitor in one coop. 7. No identification cards, pedigrees or advertising will be allowed on or near the cages until after the completion of judging. 8. Birds or animals showing evidence of diseases or external parasites will not be cooped in or will be removed by the show manager and placed in an isolated area until they may be removed by their owner. Birds or animals showing evidence of disease or external parasites will not be judged. 9. The show manager and the Napa Valley Exposition take every precaution to care for and secure all entries but accept no responsibility for loss of entries due to illness or theft. 10. Exhibitors are responsible to handle their animals for judging or to have another exhibitor who is designated to handle the animals for judging. Animals will not be moved by building personnel. 11. Exhibitors are responsible for the daily care and feeding of your own animals. Open to eligible members placing 1st in their respective showmanship classes Junior, Intermediate and Senior. Novice winner will not compete in Small Animal Master Showmanship. 2. Should an exhibitor qualify in more than one Division (i.e. Exhibitor placing 1st in Rabbit Showmanship and 1st in Poultry Showmanship) Livestock Superintendent will designate which specie that exhibitor will show in Master Showmanship. The 2nd place exhibitor of the then open species will then move up to become eligible for Round Robin. 3. After the Awards Program, scores will be posted at the Livestock Office. 4. Pygmy Goats will show in the Small Animal Master Showmanship. 5. Small Animal Master Showmanship will include the following: Poultry, Rabbits, Pygmy Goats and Cavies.

Rules, definitions and judging procedure as prescribed in the latest edition of the Official Show Rules and the Standard of Perfection of the American Poultry Association Inc., shall apply, except in such instances where they are in conflict with the rules and regulations prescribed by the Department of Food and Agriculture, Division of Fairs and Expositions. 2. Birds will be shown and judged in their proper division and class for breed, variety, age and sex only. As per the State of California rules no changes in division. If no class is offered, no awards will be made. 3. All chickens must be properly banded with numbered leg bands and the numbers must be placed on the Official Entry Form (ear tag). 4. Exhibitors must be 9 years of age by June 1, 2018 in order to exhibit Turkeys and Meat Pens. 5. Because of limited space, the management reserves the right to return entries. Entry fees will be returned only on entries returned by show management because of space limitation. 6. Birds must be clean and dry at the time of poultry health inspection. Wet birds will not be cooped in. MEAT BIRDS 1. A single broiler meat pen entry consists of 2 birds, of any recognized purebred or synthetic meat cross. Judged on uniformity of entry. No broiler shall be less than 3lbs. nor exceed 6lbs. Turkey Meat weights shall be not over 22 weeks and not under 14 lbs. 2. All meat pens must be weighed in the presence of the judge. If any one entry in the pen weighs in over the weight limit, the entire pen is disqualified. 3. Broiler Meat Pens must be brought to the scales by the Exhibitor at the time of official weigh-in. 4. All Meat Pen entries must be owned by the exhibitor a minimum of thirty days. 5. The Champion and Reserve Champion Broiler Meat Pens ONLY will be automatically entered in the Junior Livestock Auction. If you do not want to participate in the Junior Livestock Auction, you must declare at the time of entry by printing "I DO NOT INTEND TO PARTICIPATE IN THE JUNIOR LIVESTOCK AUCTION" on your entry form. 6. All applicable rules of the Junior Livestock Auction must be followed. Rules, definitions and judging procedures, as prescribed in the latest edition of the Guide Book and Standard of the American Rabbit Breeders Association, Inc., shall apply to all District and County Fairs regulations prescribed by the Department of Food and Agriculture, Division of Fairs and Expositions. 2. All animals, including cavies, must be permanently earmarked in the animal s left ear, conforming with the entry form, upon arrival at the show. Any duplication with the ear markings by one exhibitor in the same class must be eliminated and the change recorded on the judging sheet check-in. 3. All rabbits shown in the Breed Divisions must be of a recognized breed and variety under the current A.R.B.A. standards. All mixed breed rabbits may be shown in the Small Pets Division and Showmanship only. If no class is offered, no awards will be made. 4. The age in months must be entered on the entry form on each animal entered in breed classes. 5. Because of limited space, the management reserves the right to return entries. Entry fees will be returned only on entries returned by show management because of space limitation. 6. Any substitutions of rabbits must be within the same breed and class. Substitutions must be made at time of check-in. Two substitutions per exhibitor may be made free of charge. The fee for any additional substitutions will be $5.00 per change, to be paid at the time of check-in. 7. Exhibitors should be present for the judging of their animals and to help with the running of the show. 8. Exhibitors must be present for all Judging. Champion Rabbit Meat Pen & Reserve Champion Rabbit Meat Pen 1. A single meat pen entry consists of 3 rabbits, all the same breed and variety, not more than 10 weeks old (70 days). No meat shall be less than 3.5lbs. nor exceed 5.5lbs. 2. All rabbits must be weighed in the presence of the judge. If anyone rabbit in the pen weighs in over the weight limit, the entire pen is disqualified. 3. If any one rabbit in the pen is disqualified, the entire pen is disqualified. 4. A meat pen is judged on the meat type and condition of each rabbit, and the uniformity of the pen. 5. The Champion and Reserve Champion Meat Pens ONLY will be automatically entered in the Junior Livestock Auction. If you do not want to participate in the Junior Livestock Auction, you must declare at the time of entry by printing "I DO NOT INTEND TO PARTICIPATE IN THE JUNIOR LIVESTOCK AUCTION" on your entry form. 6.
