In honor of Father's Day, we would like to honor the Parent and Child connection in the poultry fancy. We will have a special show section for a Parent/ Child entry. No Entry Fee for this class. Entry will be limited to one bird, Parent and Child must be present. Champion bird in the Parent/Child class will receive $50.00 prize Fairgrounds open at 7am on day of show. All birds must be cooped in by 9am when judging will begin. Double coops are for Large Fowl only. There are no trio entries. Setup will be on Saturday, June 17 starting at 10AM. Please join a great group of poultry enthusiasts as we set up the show. All jobs are not heavy labor and any help is greatly appreciated. Showmanship Classes 10:30am Senior (age 3-18) 11:00am Junior (age 9-12) 11:30am Novice (for those who have shown 3 times or less) 12:00 Pee Wee Entry for Showmanship must be formally entered on to Entry Blank and sent in before deadline. Junior Exhibitors will be required to coop in and care for their own birds before and during the show. All birds must be inspected, identified and be accompanied by written proof (CT Flock test card or CT Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory Report) that verifies that the breeding flock or the individual birds listed on the report were blood test negative for Salmonella pullorum with in 365 days of the show date. Concurrent Avian Influenza testing of the flock and or individual birds is strongly recommended. Poultry vaccinated with in 30 days with ANY live virus vaccine will be prohibited from showing. All cages, crates or vehicles used for housing or transporting poultry must be cleaned and disinfected before and after each show. Doves, pigeons and waterfowl are exempt from testing but must be identified by leg bands or wing tags. Out of StatePoul-try: All Poultry must be identified and test negative for Salmonella pullorum with in 12 months of show date and be accompanied by the certificate. All poultry must comply with Department of Agriculture Avian Influenza requirements by originating from AI-free flocks or be tested for AI within 30 days of entry and have a certificate. No poultry vaccinated within 30 days with any live virus vaccine will be prohibited from showing. All cages, crates or vehicles used for housing or transporting poultry must be cleaned and disinfected before and after each show. Fertile Hatching Egg Raffle We will accept donations of fertile hatching eggs from tested flocks. All donations should be labeled with Breed and Variety included. This is a great opportunity to try your hand at some of the various breeds from breeders. Check out the donations for the raffle, you might just find what you've been looking for! Raffles The raffle is one of the sources of revenue for our organization that allows us to sponsor our annual show and to offer prizes to our exhibitors. Each year there are many things that you just can't live without. Some suggestions from previous shows: Pickles, Seeds, Plants, Feed, Shavings, Gardening Supplies, Dog Toys, Handmade Soaps, Baked Goods, Egg Baskets, Chicken Magazines, previous APA standards, Leg Bands, Heat Lamps, Gift Baskets, Nest Boxes, Poultry Transport Wooden Boxes, Knick Knacks, Wine Raffle donations may be delivered to the show, there will be an area designated for the raffle.
