PVA Sponge Products Bacteriostatic PVA sponges

Winner of the Medical Design Excellence Award in 2000 Blu and Blu Glide sponge products take PVA packing to a new level. Available in all popular sizes for nasal, FESS, epistaxis and even otologic applications, Blu and Blu Glide provide benefits beyond what standard PVA sponge packs can offer. Both products contain a safe, patented, bacteriostatic compound, which inhibits the growth of infection and odour-causing microorganisms on the sponge.

Bacteriostatic PVA sponges In addition, Blu Glide possesses glide surface which helps prevent sticking upon removal of the sponge. This breakthrough patent-pending eliminates the problems associated with current laminated products. Blu Glide glide surface is double-compressed for easier insertion and placement, and its microporous surface assures proper expansion with none of the cracking or separation associated with laminated layers. If the answer is sponge packing, the choice is Blu or Blu Glide for an added measure of safety and patient comfort. Blu and Blu Glide are: Biocompatible Bacteriostatic Hydrophilic Micropore surface Durable yet impressively soft Leading competitor s PVA sponge (20x mag.) Blu Glide PVA sponge (20x mag.)* Blu and Blu Glide have been proven effective for inhibiting growth of the following troublesome bacteria and viruses on the foam for up to seven days: Staphylococcus aureus, including MRSA Staphylococcus epidermidis Bacillus subtilis Yersinia enterocolitica Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecalis (VRE) Escherichia coli Vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) Encephalomyocarditis virus (EMCV) Serratia marcescens *Microscopic comparison of Blu Glide PVA foam to the leading product demonstrates smaller pore size and consistency of Blu and Blu Glide products.

PACKS Blu and Blu Glide sponge products are bacteriostatic and biocompatible. Performance properties such as expansion rate and softness have been fine-tuned to assure ease of use and comfort.
