SHOW RULES Please read carefully as some rules for the show have changed from past years. Important: The Los Angeles Pigeon Club (LAPC) reserves the right to deny any person or person s presence at and or participation in any LAPC event including LAPC monthly meetings, the LAPC Annual Young Bird Show, etc. Included is the right to deny acceptance of any persons entry of birds and or their presence at the Pageant of Pigeons and or to ask any person or person s to leave the show premises if they are deemed by the officers of the LAPC and or Pageant officials to be disruptive and or their presence is deemed not in the overall best interests of the LAPC Pageant of Pigeons or other participants. No Food/Beverage: By Ontario Convention Center rules, no food or beverages from outside will be allowed to be brought into the show hall. Please abide by this rule. Show Setup Days: Tuesday 8:00am Nov. 17 and Wed. 8:00am Nov. 18 till twelve noon. Show hall hours: Wednesday, Nov. 18 Show hall opens at 8:00am and closes at 10:00pm. Birds may be brought in beginning at 12 noon on Wed. the 18 th. Thursday, Nov. 19 8:00am - 10:00pm. All entered birds must be cooped by 12 noon. Judging of birds may begin after 12 noon. Exception - In the event all the entries in a breed are cooped before 12 noon judging of that breed may begin before noon at the discretion of the breeds sponsoring specialty club. Friday, Nov. 20 8:00am - 5:00pm. Early closing time due to LAPC Pageant Banquet. Saturday, Nov. 21 8:00am - 4:00pm. Bird box up time will be announced at the show. Bird release time will also be announced at the show. Both times are dependent on when all the judging is completed. Tear down to begin following bird box up. The LAPC would greatly appreciate any and all help during tear down. Note: Anyone caught trying to remove their birds from the show hall before the announced release time will cause their breed club to lose its rebate. We do this to protect all exhibitors birds from theft and possible error during box up. Please respect this show rule. No Liability For Lost/Stolen Birds: The Pageant of Pigeons and LAPC assumes no liability for lost or stolen birds. We will have security at the show, but like at any other large event, we cannot possibly see everything going on, and thus we depend on due diligence of those in attendance to inform a show official or security person of any suspicious activity. Security: The LAPC will provide security for the show; however the LAPC does not assume responsibility for the theft of any personal property. Again, please report any suspicious activity to the show officials. Theft and vandalism will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law plus result in the guilty being banned from future LAPC shows for life.

SHOW RULES Sale Of Birds: There will be no sale section at the Pageant. Any sale of birds is strictly between the seller and buyer. The LAPC/Pageant management will not act as an agent for any seller or buyer nor will the LAPC accept and hold payment from any buyer for any seller. If you wish to sell any of your entered birds, put a note on your bird s coop with your phone number and/or the breed area you can be found in, so potential buyers can contact you. Any bird entered in the show, if sold, must remain in their coops until the show ends on Saturday, unless an early release per bird fee has been paid at the LAPC show info table. A special release form will be issued when the fee per bird is paid. No Bird Sale At Parking Lot: ABSOLUTELY NO selling of birds in the parking lot will be allowed. Doing so is against the Ontario Convention Center, Los Angeles Pigeon Club and Pageant of Pigeons rules and jeopardizes our holding future Pageants at the Convention Center Judging Sheets: To insure accuracy in regards to breed results in the Pageant Marked Catalog, the LAPC will prepare judging sheets from the received entry blanks which will be on file at the Pageant show booth. These judging sheets may be taken by a breed judge or representative of the breed, but must be signed for and returned to the show booth after judging is completed. Failure to return judging sheets by the close of the Pageant on Saturday will result in your breeds club not receiving their rebate till the results are returned to the LAPC. In addition failure to return judging sheets may result in your breeds show results not being included in the Marked Catalog. Pageant management is aware some breed specialty clubs use their own judging sheets prepared in a format different from the LAPC supplied sheets. It is ok to use your clubs judging sheets, but if you want your results in the Marked Catalog and your rebate check you must supply the LAPC with a completed copy of your judging sheets in a timely manner. Also keep in mind that the Marked Catalog editors in the past have generally requested that breed results be in Microsoft Word format. If your specialty club records the judging results in another format please convert them to MS Word. Send the info by e-mail to the Pageant Show Secretary Fred Maenpa at fjmaenpa@sbcglobal.net. Unhealthy Birds: The show management reserves the right to reject any unhealthy or diseased specimens received for exhibition. If sickness develops, the ill bird will be removed from the show hall. Mandatory Vaccination: All birds entered at the show must be properly vaccinated for PMV at owner s responsibility. Do not chance losing your prized show birds; vaccinate your birds for PMV, it is your only insurance against this potentially deadly disease.

SHOW RULES Feed And Water: All exhibited birds will be fed and watered by LAPC during the show. Note: The Pageant management will be removing and emptying the feed and water cups from all the coops starting at approximately noon on Saturday. Spilled water and feed on the show room floor can lead to slips and falls and is especially dangerous in the hustle bustle of bird box up and show tear down. No Alcoholic Beverage Allowed: No drinking of alcoholic beverages is allowed in the show hall or parking lot. Violators will be ask to leave the premises. Exception - If the Ontario Convention Center has present a vendor of alcoholic beverages they have approved. Handling Others Birds: Do not handle other people s birds or change their coop location. Doing so will get you bared from future LAPC Shows. Coop Cards: Do not remove any coop cards from exhibited bird s coops. If you find one of your entered birds has no coop and/or no coop card, check at the Pageant show booth to rectify that. If a coop card for one of your birds is inaccurate or you re substituting one bird for another please see to it that the breed judging sheets are corrected (judging sheets are held at the Pageant show booth). No Trimming In Show Hall: ABSOLUTELY NO trimming of show birds is allowed in the show hall before, during or after the show. This is for everyone s safety. Some heavily muffed breeds fanciers like to trim their birds muff feathers after the show is over, then put them in their carrying boxes in preparation for bird release, this will not be tolerated. Trimmed feathers on the floor along with spilled water and feed make for a dangerous condition; so please follow the rules. If you get caught trimming feathers, your club will lose $100.00 from its rebate. Decorations: Pageant management welcomes and encourages specialty club judging and cooping areas decorating. However if you put up a judging area please take it down after the show; if you do not your clubs rebate will be docked. PLEASE REMEMBER There will be no hanging from hangers, nails or taping of any materials including streamers, posters, banners, etc on the show hall walls unless approved by the Pageant Show Secretary Fred Maenpa in advance. Contesting Judging: If you wish to contest any judging you must deposit with the show clerk the sum of $50.00 along with your challenge in writing within one (1) hour of the completion of the contested judging. The LAPC board will make a decision on your challenge, if you lose your challenge, you will lose your deposit.

This year s show photographer will be tentatively Thomas Hellmann from Germany All breed champions will be photographed and the pictures will be included in the Pageant of Pigeons Marked Catalog. The show management makes every effort to see that all breed champions are brought to the photo booth and photographed.
