Correspondence a. Correspondence listing - Refer attachment listing for general correspondence. Only correspondence that needs to be discussed listed on the agenda. Noted b. Enquiry from CFCCQ re advice on registration of dual mating kittens and Pointed Siberian kittens. i. Dual matings to be referred to Breed Council for advice. Secretary to agenda for November 2011 meeting. ii. Clarified CCCA does not recognise Pointed Siberians. c. Enquiry from ACF re CCCA policy on pointed Siberians. Secretary to reply to ACF that CCCA does not recognise Pointed Siberians. d. Request from an ACF body to change CCCA processes so that the award applicant makes out a cheque to CCCA and not their own member body. This would eliminant the need for an invoice to be sent. Agreed to allow ACF members to forward cheque payable to CCCA with award request. Procedures for CCCA members to remain unchanged. e. Clarification sought by NSWCFA on the final outcome of registration of solid colour ragdolls. Clarified To allow the registration of imported Ragdolls, If solid ragdolls appear back in the pedigree, these are to be registered as AOC ragdolls. No new solid colour progeny would be allowed to be registered. Future of Solid Ragdolls referred to the Breed Council for investigation. CFCCQ asked to have general discussion on solid Ragdolls at the judges conference. CCCA 1 st Draft Minutes June 2011 3

f. One of CCI Group 2 breeders is concerned about the Peterbald being mated with Siamese and Orientals. COAWA had Peterbalds present at a Local show on the 1 st May 2011. Secretary to write to COAWA seeking an explanation g. Query from GCCFV re the status of melanistic (black) Bengals as breeding stock only. CCCA does not recognise Black Bengals h. Query from GCCFV re how to deal with a registration of a Golden Classic Tabby in an imported pedigree. Clarified that the breed in question does not have a colour standard so can use the terminology as shown on the original pedigree. i. Invoice for WCC 2011 membership fees. $340.00 NSWCFA CCI, CFCCQ, GCCFV 9 Agenda Items a. Travel Subsidy raised by GCCFV at November 2010 meeting - Chairman s proposal from November 2010 meeting - Accommodation rep from COAWA needs to stay 2 extra nights. Victorian bodies pay for these two nights for 1 representative for November & June meeting. CCCA to pay for next two meetings to give Victorian bodies time to put it to their committee. Treasurer to do numbers for equitable proposal Proposal for sharing costs Treasurer found cheaper flights can be sourced if done earlier. Also feels that there is no need to stay the extra night. It was felt consideration should be given for timing etc. but maybe only one delegate could attend. Other bodies do this now. FCCV and GCCFV will pay for the catering costs as well as the room hire. From November 2011 meeting on. Record a vote of thanks for the offer from FCCV & GCCFV. (see rule 9.5.91) Secretary to write to COAWA informing them that the Treasurer has looked into it and recommended that we do not subsidise any one body as this could create a precedent. Catering will now being paid by the two Victorian members. The issue will be on the agenda for further discussion at Nov 2011 meeting. NSWCFA, CFCCQ, GCCFV CCCA 1 st Draft Minutes June 2011 4

b. Recognition of Pixiebobs raised by NSWCFA at November 2011 meeting. After much discussion it was decided not to recognise the Pixiebob at this stage. c. Manx Breeding Rules raised by at November 2010 meeting Referred to Breeds Council for consideration d. FCCV re Title for interstate cat. It is up to each member body as to wether or not they issue other state titles. e. FCCV proposes the following action re DNA testing protocol: That the FCCV DNA testing and recording protocol be adopted by each governing body, suitably adapted to their paperwork, and that they also record DNA data so obtained on pedigrees. proposes the introduction of National Guidelines and Procedures for acceptable collection and reporting of DNA testing procedures of cats. Should have accredited people to collect tests rather than just anybody. MOTION: That a working party be created to investigate a DNA testing and record protocol to be implemented across all CCCA bodies creating a uniform and transferable system to be bought back to November 2011 meeting. FCCV, CFCCQ, GCCFV Working party to comprise Truda Straede (lead), Julia Nicholls, Debbie Cameron. MOTION: That the following DNA testing protocols prepared by the working group be accepted. DNA PROTOCOL WORKING PARTY 5/6/11 AIM Verifiable DNA tests which create an audit trail PREAMBLE DNA tests are becoming more widely used. There is no obligation to place information in the public domain, but if there is any possibility that the information may be used for; 1. registration purposes, 2. to contribute to dispute resolution, 3. to demonstrate compliance with Legislation; then the following protocol as set out below must be followed. The CCCA and its member bodies recommend that these protocols should be followed when conducting any DNA testing. Only the original Laboratory certificate will be accepted for the results to be included on the data base. Collection Protocol Steps Contact a DNA Testing Laboratory and obtain a test kit and submission forms. Select a veterinary surgery to conduct the test. (a system is being developed of accrediting non-veterinary collectors). Ensure cat/ kitten is microchipped. Take the cat/kitten, testing kits and any other necessary paperwork to the collection point. The collector will scan the microchip, record the number on the paperwork- including registered name and number. The Collector will perform all tasks as requested on paperwork including signing and dating. The DNA sample will be collected by the vet to ensure there is no contamination of the swab. The swap should be allowed to dry in a non contaminated area. Once dry, the swab is packaged by the collector, sealed and posted from the Collection point (not given back to the owner). Truda Straede (Lead working Party) NSWCFA, CFCCQ, GCCFV Member bodies to consult on accredited collectors and provide feedback. Also put to judges conference for discussion f. Breeds Council Bengal Colour Groupings That Bengals be divided into - Brown, Sepia, Mink, Lynx Point, Silver, Silver Sepia, Silver Mink, Silver Lynx Point, both Spotted and Marbled groups, for the purpose of competition To be ratified at November 2011 meeting. These names would definitely reflect better both the descriptions of each colour as in the current standard, and leave open the possibility of future subdivisions into Specific colour classes. Eg Seal Sepia, Chocolate Sepia and Cinnamon Sepia. Abstentions: Truda Straede (Lead Breeds Council) (4) FCCV, CCI,, CFCCQ, (2) NSWCFA, GCCFV CCCA 1 st Draft Minutes June 2011 6

g. requested that CCCA introduce National Breeding Guidelines for both the Manx and Munchin cats. Munchin - Allowable outcrosses Domestic short & longhair only (Domestic - bears no resemblance to any recognised breed). CCI (6) FCCV, CCI,, CFCCQ, NSWCFA, GCCFV h. GCCFV MOTION: That CCCA develop a protocol whereby member bodies may notify CCCA of defecting members who have been the subject of complaints regarding poor animal husbandry practices Working party to look at it tomorrow and bring back submission to meeting. Meeting adjourned 5.00p.m. Saturday. Working Parties recommenced at 9.00 a.m. Sunday. Meeting resumed at 10.30 a.m. Sunday. Motion Where there are concerns surrounding issues of animal welfare all CCCA member organisations agree to consult and liaise informally on transfer of memberships between CCCA member organisations. NSWCFA (6) FCCV, CCI,, CFCCQ, NSWCFA, GCCFV Secretary to write to ACF & ANCATS to advise of this decision and ask if they would be prepared to implement a similar process. i. FCCV Inclusion of silver on pedigrees. FCCV moved that the silver be removed from reg numbers if not seen on pedigree Motion lapsed j. FCCV Clarification sought on the use of the term Black Tipped (Chinchilla) and Black Shaded (Shaded Silver). FCCV to put forward a motion for the November 2011 meeting. k FCCV Patched Siamese Included in Group 2 Breeding regulations Oct 2010. Recognition of Siamese with white patching gene to be called Patched Siamese. Recommendation from FCCV for recognition of Patched Siamese. Motion That CCCA recognise patched Siamese & Balinese Against: FCCV CFCCQ (5) FCCV, CCI, CFCCQ, NSWCFA, GCCFV (1) Carried, by majority of 75% Effective immediately. l. FCCV Develop a general protocol for the breeds which use domestics as allowable outcross (without loss of breed status) - (Devon Rex, Munchkin, Scottish Fold, La Perm, Manx). Breed Council to prepare report. m. FCCV Group 2 Breeding Regulations Can be accepted for the 2011 National using the GCCFSA standard. To be judged together I challenge. All members to take the recommendation back to their bodies and give feedback to the Breed Council by end of August. Revised paper to be circulated. n. Turkish Angora NSWCFA enquiry re recognition. CFA is the country of origin. MOTION That CCCA accept Turkish Angora using the CFA American standard. Inter mating between Turkish van and Turkish Angora not allowed. To be shown in Group 1 NSWCFA CCI (6) FCCV, CCI, CFCCQ, NSWCFA, GCCFV, 10 Working Parties a. CCCA Registration Guide Ongoing b. Breed Council Sub Committee (Truda Straede, Lesley Freemann, Julia Nicholls) Agenda a report for Nov meeting Allowable outcrosses table presented. Recognition of Caramel and apricot. That Cinnamon, Fawn and Caramel be added to the SPECIFICALLY EXCLUDED colours for MAINE COON, SIBERIAN and NORWEGIAN FOREST standards. Breed Council That the Siberian cat standard be altered to read All recognised colours with the exception of (include caramel to the current exclusions). Agenda item for November 2011 meeting Breed Council Patched Group In breeds without colour standards, cats exhibiting white patching be designated as & white Siamese & Balinese exhibiting the white patching gene to be designated as & White not Van or Bicolour. The withhold fault for Maine Coon Buttons, Lockets, Spots be removed from standard The Persian & Exotic standard to have the texture section reinstated Choc & Dilutes for pointed cats, note in standard that leg markings in dilute cats may not be evident up until about 18 months of age. Needs to be included in all standards where pointed cats appear. MOTION: That the above additions be agreed to and the report and its contents be accepted Breed Council Carried by agreement 11 WCC a. ILO - WCC Seminar & Business Meeting 2011 SACC Mrs Cheryle U Ren reported the Executive meet fortnightly. WCC web site is creating a library of recognised breeds. Each member body putting in a 3 monthly newsletter. 12 Feline Health Research Fund a. Report Guest speakers Dr Carol Webb & Dr Kerry Fowler Dr Carole Webb gave report on last 12 months operations. NSWCFA suggested FHRF could look at having major sponsors such as some of the chemical companies eg Bayer or the food companies. Having their name associated with the FHRF would be perceived as quite important within the cat world. NSWCFA invited FHRF to have a display at the National show to promote the fund. Ann Eckstein & Shirley Sargent will run this. CCCA 1 st Draft Minutes June 2011 9

13 National Show a. 2010 National Show Total Profit of $4630.90 which equates to $2315.45 each for CCCA & FCCV. b. 2011 National Show Request for sponsorship sent to Royal Canin in December 2010 acknowledgement received. NSWCFA organised sponsorship with Purina when no response was received from Royal Canin. NSWCFA also talking to another sponsor who may become a co-sponsor. Change in Overseas Judge - Mr Brian Peterson replaces Mr L Adkison Kitten date of birth is set as 1 st day of show kitten on day 1 of the show remains a kitten on day 2. Clarification was sought on CCCA UTH Rule. Copy of rule forwarded. Rosette Sponsorship is sought from all member bodies. Amendment to CCCA Show Rule (41) from In the event of a two day show can the exhibit be present on either day to be eligible for awards. To - In the event of a two day show the exhibit may be present on either one day or both days to be eligible for daily awards. Change accepted by agreement. Transfer of ownership Issue raised. Issue of registering bodies processing pedigrees not yet officially transferred into their members names in the original registering bodies data base. All CCCA member bodies reminded of this agreed procedure. Secretary to write to ACF and ANCATS re this issue. c. 2012 National Show - CCCT As CCCT was not in attendance, item deferred to November 2011 meeting. 14 Judges Conference a. 2011 Judges conference CFCCQ 13 th & 14 th August Sponsorship Royal Canin not sponsoring this event as previously agreed.
