Open Class - For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Master Class - This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show, and who have won the 10 first place wins in an Open class with competition to be eligible to enter the Limited Class Competition. The calendar for this class will be November 1 October 31 of the following year. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to compete for the following year. BITCHES IN SEASON ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO COMPETE. EACH DOG ENTERED MUST BE OF THE BREED FOR WHICH THIS SHOW IS HELD. Junior Handlers must put their Junior Handler s number on the entry blank. To obtain a Junior Handler number, call the American Kennel Club (919) 816-3776 or E-mail at juniors@akc.org. Notice: Be sure all information for Junior Showmanship Classes is entered on the front and back of the entry form. By signing the entry form, certification is given that the Junior Showman does not now, and will not at any time, act as an agent/handler for pay while continuing to compete in Junior Showmanship. SWEEPSTAKES ~ PUPPY & VETERAN ~ AM SHOW ONLY PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES ELIGIBILITY: This Sweepstakes is open to all Saint Bernards at least 6 months and under 18 months of age on the day of the show. Champions of Record can NOT be shown. Classes to be divided by sex and age, but not coat. The winner of each class will compete for Best in Sweepstakes and Best of Opposite Sex in Sweepstakes. All entries in Sweepstakes must also be entered in a regular class in this show. Entries shall be made at the same time on the same entry form used for the regular class. Indicate Sweepstakes and the appropriate sex and age in the space provided for Additional Classes. CLASSIFICATION ~ SWEEPSTAKES CLASSES: The following age division classes are offered for both Dogs and Bitches: Puppy: 6 months and under 9 months; 9 months and under 12 months; Jr.: 12 months and under 18 months. The six class winners will compete for Best in Sweepstakes & Best of Opposite Sex in Sweepstakes. VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES ELIGIBILITY: This Sweepstakes is open to all Saint Bernards 6 years of age and over on the day of the show. Classes to be divided by sex and age, but not coat. Neutered dogs and spayed bitches may be entered in this class. The winner of each class will compete for Best in Veteran Sweepstakes and Best of Opposite Sex in Veteran Sweepstakes. Entries in Veteran Sweepstakes need not be entered in any other class at this show. Entries shall be made at the same time on the same entry form used for the regular classes. Indicate Veteran Sweepstakes and the appropriate sex and age in the space provided for Additional Classes. CLASSIFICATION ~ VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES CLASSES: The following age division classes are offered for both Dogs and Bitches: 6 years and under 9 years; 9 years and older. The four class winners will compete for Best In Veteran Sweepstakes & Best Opposite Sex in Veteran Sweepstakes. DIVISION OF SWEEPSTAKES STAKES ~ PUPPY & VETERAN 10% of total Sweepstakes fees will be retained for expenses. The remainder is divided as follows: In the event of fewer than four (4) dogs in a class, the balance of the percentages will be divided among those entered in the First Place in Class..40% of entry fee left for that class Second Place in Class...25% of entry fee left for that class Third Place in Class...15% of entry fee left for that class Fourth Place in Class...10% of entry fee left for that class class All prize money is paid in the ring to the person handling the dog. Undistributed prize money is retained by the Club. Money rounded to the nearest dollar. SWEEPSTAKES PRIZES ~ PUPPY & VETERAN Best In Sweepstakes & Best of Opposite Sex In Sweepstakes ~ Saintly Items IMPORTANT - NOTICES TO EXHIBITORS All buildings will be open at 6:00 AM. Specialty parking is available after 1 PM Thursday. No ACCESS to any buildings before 6 AM Friday. No Exceptions. Loading zone: Will be in front of Don Diego Clock Tower. Ten minutes maximum to unload dogs and to move vehicle to parking area. Specialty Parking is available after 1:00 PM Thursday. No access to any buildings prior to 6:00 AM Friday - No exceptions. ALL DOGS MUST BE OUT OF EXHIBIT HALL & O BRIEN HALL BY 6 PM DAILY. NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED TO PRACTICE IN RINGS. Crates and tables will not be allowed in the aisles of the show area, or within 30 feet of any ring unless marked otherwise. Exercise pens are not allowed in any buildings. Crates must be stacked. No crates, pens grooming or parking of vehicles will be permitted between the Bing Crosby Hall and Exhibit Hall and Pat O Brien Hall. Electricity will be very limited inside all buildings. Flexible and/or retractable leads are prohibited in and around all the buildings during show hours. Clean-up is your responsibility! Pooper scoopers will be placed at all X-pens, and clean-up personnel will patrol the grounds near rings. If your dog soils the parking lot or show grounds, you are responsible for clean-up. By signing the entry form at this show you are agreeing that all clean-up is your responsibility. Please notify a show official if you see an area needing clean-up. Guards will patrol throughout the show. No parking in fire lanes (which are 20 feet from all buildings.) Handicapped parking is available to those with DMB plates/placards. Handicapped parking is to provide ease (paved) access, not necessarily next to rings. All parking is at your own risk. Exhibitors will be held responsible for clean conditions in and around their crates both during and after the show. Waste water may NOT be emptied on the grounds or drained into open containers. Saint Bernard Club of San Diego, Inc. and Silver Bay Kennel Club reserve the right to remove any animal in distress from a parked vehicle or crate, and all persons attending these dog shows hereby waive any claim for damages against either club for such removal. All recording rights shall belong to SBCSD and SBKC, respectively while shows are in progress. Attendance grants permission to use the above without further release or consent. SBCSD and SBKE are not responsible for the actions or products of the commercial vendors. No peddling, soliciting, delivery of merchandise or passing out publications without written permission of SBKC. By signing the entry form you are agreeing to the above. Any exhibitor who does not adhere to these rules may be subject to disciplinary action. 6

Novice - Not Offered Amateur Owner Handler Bred by Exhibitor Bitches American Bred Bitches Open Bitches, Longhaired Open Bitches, Shorthaired Winners Bitch BEST OF BREED COMPETITION The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record. Dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. The entry and showing of dogs whose championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a championship according to the owner s records. If, at the end of the 90 day period, the championship of a dog has not been confirmed by AKC, no further entries of the dog for Best of Breed competition are to be made until its championship has been confirmed by AKC. GRAND CHAMPION SELECT When quality warrants, after Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex are awarded, a Select Dog (SD) and Select Bitch (SB) may be chosen from the remaining Champions (Non Regular Class winners that are Champions and Qualify for BOB are eligible) - (WD or WB are not eligible) (AKC Dog Show Rules, Chapter 3, Section 14, Effective 5-12-10) AWARDS OF MERIT In appreciation, SBCSD will offer Awards of Merit to deserving Saints for recognition of their quality. It is entirely the judge s decision whether to give all or none of the available Awards. Awards of Merit are selected from the Saints in the Best of Breed Competition, other the Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex winner. The number of Awards, signified by a Dark Green & Gold Rosette, is determined by the number of entries present: One Award of Merit for 4-9 Specials. Two Awards of Merit for 10 or more Specials. AMATEUR OWNER HANDLER CLASS ELIGIBILITY For non-champion dogs at least 6 months of age. Dogs must be handled in the class by the registered owner of the dog. Entry is limited to exhibitors who have never been a professional handler, an AKC-approved conformation judge, or employed as an assistant to a professional handler. Additionally, members of the immediate family or household of a current professional handler are ineligible for this class (as defined in Chapter 11, Section 13 of the AKC Dog Show Rules). Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs to a professional handlers organization, distributes rate cards, or otherwise advertise or represent themselves as handling dogs for pay. BRED BY EXHIBITOR CLASS ELIGIBILITY All dogs entered in the Bred-By Exhibitor Class must be individually registered with the AKC. The person handling the dog must be a breeder of record of the dog and an owner of record of the dog. Family members must be both a breeder and owner of record to exhibit in the class. NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING SINGLE DOG ENTRIES NOTE: Winners from these classes are eligible, if undefeated in another class for Best of Breed Competition. *Veteran Dog *Veteran Bitch (For dogs or for bitches six (6) years of age and over) *Chapter 11, Section 8: of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows provides that a neutered male may be entered as a Veteran Dog in the Veteran Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Veteran Bitch in the Veteran Bitch Class. NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES NOTE: As the judges' decision in these classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won any of these classes. * STUD DOG CLASS - For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. It is not necessary that the Get be under the same ownership as that of the Stud Dog. The Stud Dog may be entered separately in one of the regular classes, or if a Champion of Record, in the Best of Breed Competition, but MUST be entered in the Stud Dog Class. The Get MUST be entered in one of the regular conformation classes or for Best of Breed Competition. No Stud Dog or his Get may be shown as a part of another unit. The Stud Dog shall be considered as one entry and requires one entry fee. The Stud Dog must be shown in the ring with the Get. The class will be judged on the merits of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC Policy, or the standard for its breed. * BROOD BITCH CLASS - Same as for the Stud Dog Class except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get. * Chapter 11, Section 8: of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows provides that a castrated male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class. BRACE CLASS - Each Brace shall be composed of two (2) Saint Bernards, with at least one common owner, to be shown in the ring at the same time. The dogs comprising a brace must be named at the time of entry. The entry form for each dog entered as part of a brace that is already entered in a regular conformation class or Best of Breed MUST be marked accordingly in the space for Additional Classes Brace Class.. 7

NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS 1. Entries must reach the Show Secretary, Doris Bandoian, 1220 N. Richfield Rd., Anaheim, CA 92807-1812, by NOON, Wednesday, February 06, 2013. Fees should accompany entries. The Club and the Show Secretary assume no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or agent of the owner. The Club and the Show Secretary assume no responsibility for the owner or owner s agent entering a dog in a class in which the dog is not eligible to compete, or for entering the same dog twice. 2. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The CLUB will add a collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks for the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis. The returned check MUST BE MADE GOOD by cash or money order BEFORE the dog will be allowed in the ring. 3. Exhibitors confirmations and judging programs will be mailed or emailed to the address given on the entry blank. If not received within a reasonable time prior to the show, notify the Show Secretary. Confirmations returned by the Post Office marked Undeliverable will be held at the Show Secretary s office. Please being your confirmations to the show. 4. During the hours of judging owners are to be on call, and have their dogs ready to bring into the judging ring promptly in order that judging will not be delayed. Dogs need only be present for their judging. Dogs not needed for further judging may be excused. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to have his dog ready to be shown and at the entrance of the judging ring when the steward calls for the class. Owner of dogs or the handlers of the dogs alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. This means it is not the responsibility of the ring steward, nor of any agent of the show-giving club to locate any dog, it s owner or handler, when the dog s presence is needed in a judging ring. It should be understood by every exhibitor and handler that waiting for dogs to be brought into the ring is a courtesy extended to the owner or handler of the dog. There is no rule of these clubs nor the American Kennel Club that requires a judge to wait for an owner or handler t o bring his dog into the ring. Show hours 7 AM to 6 PM. 5. Trophies and prizes will be awarded in the judging ring by completion of the breed and the show secretaries office advised at once, in the event of any discrepancy. All trophies must be claimed the day of the show. None will be mailed. 6. Exhibitors are admonished to make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany the premium list. Rule books may be obtained from the A.K.C., 5580 Centerview Dr., Suite 200, Raleigh, N.C. 27606. 7. The Club, the Show Secretary or the members or employees will not be responsible for the loss of or damage to any dog exhibited, whether the result of accident or other causes and in addition assumes no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by an exhibitor/owner or handler. It is distinctly understood that every dog at this show is in the care and custody and control of his owner or handler/agent during the entire time the dog is on the show premises. 8. No grooming tables, pens or exhibitors setups will be allowed in the aisles and all grooming must be done at least 20 ft. away from the judging ring in areas specified by the club. 9. Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by veterinarian or judge, barred from competition by action of the Event Committee, or because the dog is ineligible to compete due to being entered incorrectly. There is no refund of entry fees for duplicate entry. 10. Only dogs that are eligible to compete to be allowed on the grounds. 11. The Club, may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive or may remove any dog on account of disease, viciousness or other causes, and no one shall have any claim or recourse against the Club or any official thereof. 12. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management, it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entry will be made. 13. Do not leave any dogs in closed vehicles. 14. A recording fee of 50 cents per dog and an event service fee of $3.00 per entry will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show. These fees are to be collected by the Show-giving Club and paid to the American Kennel Club. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2.) 15. Dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship after the closing of entries for the show but whose championships are unconfirmed, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed Competition, provided this transfer is made by the Show Secretary at least one half hour prior to the start of the earliest Confirmation judging at the show. 16. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class after the Closing of entries for a show may transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class provided that this transfer is made by the Event Secretary at least one half-hour prior to the scheduled start of the earliest conformation judging or one half-hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship judging at the Show, whichever is earlier. 17. All persons attending this event hereby waive any claim for damages against the Club, or its, members, in the event a motor vehicle has to be entered to rescue a dog from overheating or improperly vented conditions. 18. All vehicles parked in VIP Parking Area without VIP Pass will be ticketed and fined. 19. Parents and/or Guardians are responsible for the actions of their children. OVERNIGHT PARKING Limited spaces with full hook-ups are available through the Fairgrounds on a first come, first served basis. For availability and reservations, call (858) 755-1161 X2894. No generators in use before 6:00 AM or after 10:00 PM. Privileged set up and move in parking on show grounds - CHARGE $35.00 for each night. If advanced payment for privileged parking is not paid by Feb. 6, 2013, no guarantee of parking in preferred area can be made. If paid at gate on night before Show, charge is $40.00 per night, with no guarantee parking. REQUIREMENT - All units must be self contained, no water. ELECTRICITY - Because of rising costs, electricity will be very limited in the three show buildings. It will not be available anywhere outside, except for motor homes. Security guards on duty.
