INTRODUCING YOUR JUDGES Dog Judge: Mrs C. Zingg (Rayleas) Mrs Zingg owned her first Golden Retriever, Sebastian of Eidrah 'Bass', in 1969. Bass was bred by Mrs Margaret Hardie. His sire was the lovely dual purpose Champion Crouchers Leo (owned and bred by Mrs E. Melville) and his dam was a delightful Ch Camrose Tallyrand of Anbria daughter. Bass was an excellent dog in the field and very successful in competitive Obedience qualifying to work in Test B. With his good looks and natural willingness to please, Bass immediately set standard for all future Rayleas Goldens. Over the last 10 years she has, in England, judged 4 Championship Shows giving CCs to both dogs & bitches. Her last judging appointment for the SGRS was in 2008 where she awarded CCs to the bitches. Bitch Judge: Mrs S. Golder (Summeramba) Myself & my husband Garry, bought our first Golden Retriever in 1993, although we didn't start showing until 3 years later. But it wasn't until 1997 we began showing seriously and we were lucky enough to make up Sh Ch Twilly Iphiginia of Summeramba a few years later. Our first homebred Show Champion was Sh Ch Summeramba Stilton JW and we have also bred some Champions in Europe. My career of judging started in 2000, and then in 2010, I awarded my first set of Challenge Certificates, and have completed 4 more judging appointments in the UK. I have also judged in parts of Europe. Suzi Golder (Summeramba Goldens)

The mating of bitches within the precincts of the Show is forbidden. 11. Best Puppy in Show Where a Best Puppy in Show competition is scheduled the Best Puppy in Show is a puppy which has competed and is unbeaten by any other puppy exhibited at the same Show. A puppy is a dog of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the first day of the Show. Where the Best in Show is a puppy it should automatically be awarded Best Puppy in Show. Similarly, if the Reserve Best in Show is a puppy which has only been beaten by an adult dog it should also automatically be Best Puppy in Show. Consequently, selection of Best Puppy in Show must follow the selection of Best in Show. Best Puppy in Show must be selected from puppies which have been judged and which are unbeaten by any other puppy. Withdrawal from other Competition: Puppies which become eligible for Best Puppy in Show may be withdrawn from all other competition, other than Breed Classes prior to the competition for Best Puppy in Show as appropriate, in order to remain unbeaten. A puppy beaten in competition for Best Puppy in Show may subsequently be exhibited in all competition for which it was previously eligible. The dog declared Best Puppy in Show, however, must not compete in any subsequent competition. Proviso: For the purpose of this Regulation, dogs beaten in competition for Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Progeny, Brace and Team or a Special Award confined to one breed will not be considered to be a beaten dog. 12. Best in Show The dog declared Best in Show is a dog which had competed and is unbeaten by any other dog exhibited at the same Show. Best in Show must be selected from the exhibits declared Best of Sex providing they are unbeaten winning dogs. Reserve Best in Show must be selected from the Best Opposite Sex and the Reserve Best of Sex to the exhibit declared Best in Show. The dogs declared Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show must not compete in any subsequent competition. Withdrawal from other Competition: Dogs which become eligible for Best in Show maybe withdrawn from all other competition, other than breed classes prior to the competition for Best in Show as appropriate in order to remain unbeaten. A dog beaten in competition for Best in Show may subsequently be exhibited in all competition for which it was previously eligible. The dogs declared Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show however, must not compete in any subsequent competition. Proviso: For the purposes of this Regulation, dogs beaten in competition for Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Progeny, Brace and Team or a Special Award confined to a single breed, will not be considered to be beaten dogs. 13. Exhibits will not be admitted to Best in Show competition after a period of ten minutes has elapsed since the announcement that exhibits are required for judging, unless they have been unavoidably delayed by previous judging not being completed on time, and then only with the special permission of the Show Management. 14. Exhibitors must not pick up dogs by their tails and leads when lifting them. This is not acceptable. Exhibitors should note that such practice would constitute harsh handling and reports of such practice will be referred to the Committee under Kennel Club Show Regulation F11. 15. It is not acceptable to handle a dog in a manner which causes its feet not to touch the ground when on the move. Exhibitors should note that such practices could constitute harsh handling and reports of such practice will be referred to the Committee under Kennel Club Show Regulation F11. 16. All exhibitors must be familiar with Kennel Club Regulation F (Annex B) - Regulations for the Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition. 17. All dogs resident outside of the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete number before entry to the show can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be returned to the exhibitor/competitor. 18. Dogs in Vehicles on Hot Days. Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers the following guidance to help guide you through the do s and don ts travelling to and whilst at KC licensed events. When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy holiday route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams. If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all. The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water available to drink. Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog. When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle. Keep the dog in the shade - take your own shade for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of water available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated. Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths of time. Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to dire results. Please look after your dog s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED. Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club

licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. Exhibitors/Competitors are reminded that show societies have the right under Kennel Club Regulation to refuse any entry. 19. Not for Competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must be recorded on the entry form and must be Kennel Club registered. 20. No modifications will be made to this Schedule except by permission of the General Committee of the Kennel Club, which will be followed by advertisement in the Canine Press wherever possible. 21. All dogs entered at this Show will be entirely at their owner's risk and the Committee will not accept responsibility for any loss, damage or injury howsoever caused to the person's property or dogs whilst at the Show. 22. The entrance fee of a dog entered but not sent to the Show will be forfeited. 23. Should any Judge be prevented from fulfilling their engagement, the Committee reserve to themselves the right to appoint another in their place. 24. Please note that cheques sent must be in order for immediate payment. Those which are not, for any reason whatsoever, will not be accepted and will be returned together with the entries. Cheques returned by the exhibitor's bank will have a surcharge of 10 levied to cover administration and the Society's bank charges. On each and every occasion failure to pay entry fees or surcharges thus incurred will be referred to the Kennel Club. 25. In the event of the abandonment of the Show, through circumstances beyond their control, the Society may defray such expenses from the entry fee to cover the cost of Show preparations. 26. Any owner, competitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog is required to remove as soon as possible any fouling caused by their dog(s) at any Kennel Club licensed show within the licensed venue and within the environs of that event including car and caravan parks and approaches. 27. Close of Entries: Saturday, 20th January 2018 (postmark), but must be in the hands of the Hon. Show Secretary by Tuesday, 23rd January 2018. 28. MEMBERS are those persons either a) who have renewed their subscriptions for the current year; or b) whose application for membership has been submitted to the Executive Committee and have been notified as approved prior to the closing date of entries. 29. No exhibitors passes will be sent. 30. A dog must, at the time of entry for the Show, be registered as required by Kennel Club Rules & Regulations in the exhibitor's name (or registration or transfer applied for). In the case of joint registered owners the full name of every registered owner must be given. Where an owner makes an entry on behalf of another joint registered owner(s) or where an agent enters on behalf of a single or joint registered owner(s) such person must have the authority and consent from the single or joint registered owner(s) to sign the entry form on their behalf thereby binding them all to such authority and consent will be required. A dog acquired subsequent to entry having been made at a Show may be exhibited by the new owner as the new owner's property provided that an application for the transfer has been forwarded to the Kennel Club before the Show, and the new owner has undertaken to abide by the Regulation and conditions of the original entry form (and accordance with the conditions set out above). 31. Separate entry forms must be completed by each exhibitor and must be signed by the exhibitor or his authorised agent in accordance with the provisions specified thereon. Entry forms must be accompanied by the appropriate fees. 32. No animal other than an exhibit shall be brought into the precincts of the Show during its continuance, except a registered guide dog for the blind or hearing dog for the deaf, or dogs for educational or instructional purposes or by permission of the General Committee. 33. Exclusion of Dogs. If in the opinion of the Show Manager or Judge any dog is considered not in a fit state for exhibition owing to disease, savage disposition, or any other cause, the dog may be excluded or removed from the Show on the instruction of the Show Management. Once excluded or removed from the Show the dog must not be brought into the Show at any time under any circumstances and the case must be reported in full to the Kennel Club within seven days. 34. No dogs suffering from any infections or contagious disease or having been exposed to such disease during the period of 21 days prior to the Show may be exhibited. Exhibitors infringing this Regulation will be liable to be fined and/or to be dealt with under Kennel Club Rule 11. 35. Safety Officer: A Safety Officer will be in attendance throughout the show. Exhibitors, Competitiors and Spectators are reminded that just as Southern Golden Retriever Society has a responsibility to ensure the health and safety of all those attending their event, all those present have a duty and responsibility for their own safety. They are therefore expected to take the greatest of care to avoid uneven sufaces and other hazards which are inevitable and integral element of a dog show. Those bringing and using portable items such as folding chairs, trolleys, cages and grooming equipment have a responsibility to ensure that their tools, equipment and collapsible furniture is used and erected safely and does not constitute a hazard to others. Exhibitors are also reminded that they should wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the prevailing conditions on the site. Exhibitors show and competitors compete at their own risk if conditions are not ideal. The Safety Officer and committee members of the SGRS will be patrolling all areas of the show and car park throughout the show. 36. The Committee will not be responsible for the loss, detention of, or damage to any dog, person or property whether arising from accident or any other cause whatever, or from any act or omission of itself, agents, servants or others or the damage done by the exhibitor to any person or property. 37. Parents will be held responsible for any damage to property caused by their children within the environs of the show. 38. In the event that the show is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, the club/society will refund fees, less reasonably incurred expenses, on receipt of a stamped addressed envelope submitted within one month of the show date. 39.
