The servants tried their best to brighten up the young king s days.

There were musicians and clowns to entertain the King but nothing took away his frowns.

Unit 2: Fearless Phil To be tested on: Term 1 Week 4 1 tired Tom felt tired after studying for two hours. 2 pack My mother helps me to pack my school bag everyday. 3 stomach The bully punched Jim in the stomach. 4 fearless James is a fearless boy who is not afraid of anyone. 5 Hungry I was extremely hungry as I had not eaten my breakfast. 6 menacing A menacing bulldog is guarding that rich man s house. 7 mountain track Walk along the mountain track if you do not want to get lost in the mountain. 8 jacket Please wear a jacket if you feel cold. 9 as hungry as a bear 10 as proud as a peacock The poor boy gobbled up his food very quickly as he was as hungry as a bear. Mike was as proud as a peacock when he boasted about his excellent test results. There was a fearless boy named Phil who loved climbing mountains.

Unit 2: Fearless Phil To be tested on: Term 1 Week 5 1 bolted The thief bolted out the door when he heard the police coming. 2 flexed The bodybuilder flexed his muscles in the gym. 3 bouncing The boys were bouncing their basketballs in the court all afternoon. 4 trekking Mr Lim loves trekking in the Grand Canyon. 5 snarl The ferocious dog snarls at everyone except its master. 6 screamed The frightened boy screamed in fear. 7 rumble Thunder rumbled high above us. 8 grumble Peter did not grumble when he was asked to clean up the classroom. 9 stomped feet in anger 10 scared stiff at the thought The spoilt child stomped (his) feet in anger when his parents refused to buy him a new toy. Thomas was scared stiff at the thought of going to the cemetery alone. Phil did not shake or shiver when he saw a lion while he was climbing a mountain.

Mr Brown worked on stitching up the sunflower from dawn till dusk.

Put out the fire! The firemen shouted to one another. Nobody believed that the wolf went tumbling down the chimney to put out a fire.

The wolf said he was innocent but everyone thought that his story was outrageous.
