JANET WILLIAMS JUDGE REPORT for COMBINED & SHCS SHOWS 21 st January 2017 I am very grateful to Lynda for inviting me to judge at these well run shows. Thanks also go to my good friend and fellow judge Claire Lewis who stewarded for me. She was good company on the day and kept all my ducks in a row. COMBINED SHOWS Class 1701: OLYMPIAN IMPERIAL GRAND MASTER CAT MALE 1 st and OLY to Mrs S L Miller SUP UK OG IMP GMC OLLIVANDER Red Short Hair 6 years This boy has it all. He is red Burmese in type with a stunning red top coat and a creamy undercoat. He has attractive facial markings and beautiful green eyes. He is a big, stocky and weighty boy who has been there, seen it and done it all before, a real pro. He was just so friendly, rolling around on the trolley, purring softly and licking my steward s hands. Beautifully presented for his day out, he had to be my winner. 2 nd and RES OLY to Mrs S Lovell IMP GMC JUST WILLYUM Cinnamon Shorthair 9 years This is a big weighty boy of oriental type. He has a beautiful glossy coat in a stunning cinnamon colour with a hint of resilience on his back and with just a tiny bit of dandruff. He has deep yellowy/green eyes. He was very easy to handle. He had a deep throaty purr and he was very content with his lot, both in and out of the pen. He was very well presented for his day out with neatly clipped claws. He was unlucky to meet such a tough competitor today. Class 1737: PEDIGREE PET or KITTEN 1 st to Miss A Toogood MC SPOOK of CLUBS Chocolate pointed semi longhair 15 months This is a very handsome, large and weighty boy. He was beautifully prepared, sporting a long cream coat, dark brown points and a light brown fluffy tail. He has deep sapphire eyes, small neat ears and very long white whiskers. He was a very gentle boy and was very easy to handle. 2 nd to Mr G Eyres VICTOR Brown shorthair 15 months What a super glossy brown coat this young lad has! He is brown Burmese in type with a nice broad head and with ears that are set well apart. He was very well presented with neatly clipped claws. He has a very friendly and curious nature. This boy is very handsome and is of Oriental type. He has a lovely short apricot coat intermingled with some paler patches and with some barring on his legs. He has very deep set amber coloured eyes. His body is slim and muscular. He has a nice nature and was easy to handle. He was sitting very contently in his pen and came out willingly, just a little bit wriggly when he was on the trolley. 3 rd to Miss J P Creaton & Miss C Walker OG IMP GMC SR JOSHUA PURRKINS red curly longhair 9 years I think I caught this lovely boy in an off moment. He was rather grumpy and was growling in his pen when I met him in the morning and his coat wasn t quite in tip top condition. He is, nevertheless, a super, big, curly boy, one of my favourites, and I was pleased to see that, later on in the day, he did extremely well for himself. SHORT HAIRED CAT SOCIETY SHOW Class 437: AV FOREIGN JUNIOR ADULT, MALE 1 st to Mrs M Lincoln GLENDAVAN YUZURU HANYU usual abyssinian d.o.b.27/9/15 This is a mature looking fifteen month old Aby. He has gently rounded contours to his head, large well cupped and tufted ears, and a slight nose break. He has a little bump on his nose. His expressive eyes are medium sized, and are amber in colour. His coat is a rich gold, sound to the roots with attractive black ticking. He is a strong muscular and jowly boy and is a lovely cat. 2 nd to Miss J Bates CH JALANKAYU LAMANG singapura d.o.b. 01/04/15 This young boy has a short rounded wedge with large wide ears that are deeply cupped. His large eyes, in the hall light, are dark amber in colour. He has a very short coat in a warm ivory which is ticked in sepia. He was rather fed up when I met him in the afternoon and was a little difficult to handle. Class 438: AV FOREIGN JUNIOR ADULT, FEMALE 1 st to Mrs J Whitehouse WHITECREST AMISI silver Egyptian Mau d.o.b. 27/07/15 This is a promising 17 month old youngster who is a lovely example of the breed. She has a nicely shaped wedge of medium length with good width to the top of her head. Her muzzle is gently rounded in shape, and flows well into the contours of her head. Her profile shows a gentle contour with a slight rise from the bridge of her nose to her forehead. She has a noticeably level brow, which, together with her nose of a uniform width, gives her a good worried expression. Her chin is a reasonably firm and she has a level bite.
She has medium sized ears, which are cupped forward and are set very nicely on her head at an angle that follows the planes of her head. She has almond shaped medium sized eyes which are mainly gooseberry green in colour, with just a hint of amber in evidence. She is a graceful young cat of a good size, just a little bit chunky round her middle, but her body has a sound muscular feel to it. Her legs are elegant, showing both barring and spots. Her tail is a good length, heavily banded, thick at the base and tapering with a solid black tip. Her coat is very striking, with masses of small black spots set on a beautiful silvery base coat. It is fairly soft, but there is a little resistance to the touch. She has a completely unbroken spine line and two clearly broken necklaces. She also has a spotty belly. She was well presented and shown in a very good condition. She was a little nervous when out of the pen, but I was able to handle her. 2 nd to Mrs D Peck ALYONA JELISAVETA Russian Blue d.o.b.16/3/16 This is a youngster of just over ten months of age with a short rounded wedge, a good chin and a shallow concave curve to her profile. Her large ears are set nicely vertical and her eyes are a light green. Her medium blue coat is sound to the roots, and is a little fine and soft at present. 3 rd to Ms J Oakley KREMLINKATZ KATAZYNA Russian Blue d.o.b.19/11/15 This youngster is fourteen months of age with a short wedge, a rather square muzzle, a good chin and a shallow concave curve to her profile. Her large ears are well set vertically on her head. Her medium blue coat has a lovely silvery sheen. It is a little fine, but has a nice feel to it. Class 439: AV FOREIGN ADULT, MALE 1 st to Dr S F Moreland MISTYMOGWAI KNIGHT INDARKSATIN Toyger d.o.b. 21/05/15 This big, strong and handsome boy is approaching his 2 nd birthday. He has a broad and medium sized wedge with a rounded muzzle. Hs eyes are medium in size and are an olive green. His tail is wide at its base and tapers to a black tip. His coat is a lovely rich red in colour with dark brown vertical stripes and with some evidence of braiding. He has a rosette on his body. His chin is a creamy colour. He wasn t very easy to handle and I wondered if he was feeling a little hormonal! 2 nd to Mrs A Almond MURPHY MCCOLL DE LA SOIE LYONNAISE White blue eyed Devon Rex d.o.b. 28/2/16
This young lad has a short broad wedge, with a good nose break, wide set eyes which are oval in shape and slope towards his ears. His chin is rather weak. His coat is beautifully whiter than white and is very short with good rexxing to his back, shoulders and tail. His undersides and chin, however, are somewhat bald. This attractive boy was a little nervous out of the pen but I could handle him. Class 515: AV FOREIGN DEBUTANTE KITTEN 1 st to Messrs S Crow & T Goss CAGARAN QUAIST Chocolate smoke BCR Asian F d.o.b. 18/6/16 What a super little girl. She has a lovely Burmese look with a short rounded wedge, a good nose break and beautiful amber eyes that are round and kittenish at present. Her coat is chocolate with a white base coat and the smoking is just starting to come through. It is short, lies well and is soft to the touch. Class 525: AC BENGAL, OCICAT, SINGAPURA or SOKOKE kitten 1 st to Miss E Williams TYPHAST FIRECRACKA Brown spotted Bengal MN d.o.b. 30/05/16 This young lad was rather unhappy and I was only just able to handle him. His head is a broad medium wedge that is the desired longer than wider in shape and he has a broad nose and a deep chin. He has medium ears which have a broad base with rounded tips and which are set fairly high on his head. He has small eyes that are almost round in shape and are a deep gold in colour. His soft coat is a lovely rich golden brown colour with clearly marked rosettes. Class 584: AV FOREIGN JUNIOR NEUTER 1 st to Mrs M Cross GRPR BEXBENGALS MOCKINGJAY Brown spotted Bengal MN d.o.b. 06/02/15 This boy is just under two years old and is a good size. His head has the desired longer than wider shape with a broad and nicely rounded muzzle. He has a broad nose, a dip in his profile and a rather shallow chin. His green eyes are medium sized and are almost round in shape. He has a lovely soft rich golden brown coat with visible glitter and clear arrowhead spots. His head sports a scarab with M markings and clear mascara lines. His legs are barred and he has large and rounded paws. He has a pip at the end of his tail. 2 nd to Mrs P Kilburn ICEGEMS LADY WALTON Snowshoe FN d.o.b. 05/06/15
This lass is a good size and has a short, dense and slightly soft coat. Her coat shows a good contrast of colours and she has a balanced inverted V on her face. Her nose has a little bump and her right eye looks to have an intermittent convergent squint. She was a bit wriggly but otherwise handled well. He is a weighty lad, one might say a little plumptious! He has a beautiful ticked coat in shades of brown, attractive facial markings, bars on his legs and a ringed tail. This handsome lad was very friendly and purred continuously. 2 nd to Miss S Brown GMC TEXAS Black Spotted tabby shorthair MN 1 year 8 months This is an extremely handsome chap of oriental type with huge ears on the side of his head. He has attractive black markings on a short brown coat. His eyes are olive in colour. He was well prepared for his day out with nicely clipped claws. He was a little frightened when we took him out of his pen but he handled well.
