Entries will be staged for other breeds Entries for Giant Schnauzers open August 1st, 2018 All other breeds September 1st, 2018. After that date there is no guarantee there will be room for additional Giants. Trial Limits: 30 dogs per trial General Information The safety of the dogs, handlers, and rats is to be of paramount importance. Rats will be humanely handled and safely confined in aerated PVC tubes; Barn Hunt is not intended to harm or kill rats. Exhibitors while setting up must stay at least 10 ft. away from rings. If your dog is disruptive, trial committee has the right to have you move your set-up further from the ring. Bring adequate containment for your dog(s), shade, water and ground cover. Bitches in season MAY compete and must wear pants. They will be run at the end of each class. If bringing a bitch in season, please inform the trial committee prior to the trial and inform all exhibitors at the judge s briefing. There is NO SMOKING anywhere near the straw or blind. Smoking is allowed within the confinement of your vehicle and all butts disposed of in the ashtray of the vehicle. Please pick up after your dog and dispose of waste in appropriate containers. Do not allow dogs to urinate on trash cans. This is a self- cleaning trial please maintain your area. Any exhibitor failing to do so may be excused without benefit of refund if the Event Committee deems the exhibitor to be in violation of this requirement. Collars and Leashes per BHA rules: *Electric collars are not allowed to be used on the Trial Grounds *Bark collars, including Citronella bark collars, are not allowed to be used on Trial grounds *Head halters are not allowed to be used on Trial grounds *Muzzles are not allowed to be used on Trial grounds *All other collar, lead, and harness types and combinations are allowed to be used on the Trial grounds *At no time can be dogs be tied out or otherwise be left attached to anything other than a human when outside a crate, car, or other secure enclosed confinement. Leashes cannot be left dangling or dragging.
Standing or stepping on a leash is not allowed as a form of restraint (but can be used in case of emergency to help secure a loose dog). Accommodations to this rule may be made for differently disabled handlers as determined by the club. *Dogs cannot be brought to the ring on flexi-leads or prong collars. Dogs should be brought into the ring with collars/harnesses/slipleads which can be easily and quickly be removed and replaced. Dogs must run naked There will be a $15.00 replacement fee if your dog eliminates on a bale of straw. Please be considerate of other competitors. If you have a concern with anyone for any reason, please contact the trial committee. This may result in a Conduct Committee. Decision of the Conduct Committee will be final. No refunds will be made for withdrawal after the closing date No event fee will be refunded if the event cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, or public emergency, act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the event committee.. Requests for refunds must be made by the closing date. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event a dog is absent, disqualified, excused or barred from competition by action of the Conduct Committee or BHA CARP reserves the right to decline entries for cause and may remove any dog upon Conduct Committee's recommendation. No one shall have any recourse or claim against CARP, GSCA, or any official thereof. There will be no refund for any person/dog that has been dismissed from the grounds/trial Exhibitors are responsible for being ready to go to the staging area, in the staging area, and waiting for the call to the gate when it is their turn to run. The judge need not wait for any dog holding up a class. The club has no obligation or responsibility for providing service through a public address system or steward for the purpose of calling or locating dogs that are not bought to the ring when required. Central Arizona Rat Patrol nor the Giant Schnauzer Club of America takes no responsibility for children under the age of 18 who are exhibiting or attending this trial. All Children under the age of 18 must be under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian. Parents or guardians shall take full responsibility for the actions of their children.
