CFSO Major Raffle for the 2011 June Specialty Show The tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10 Judge s Biography Lorraine Gillhespy I have owned Cavaliers since 1975 when my husband bought a blenheim bitch for my birthday and then two years later a tricolour joined our family. Showing my Cavaliers became for me, as it is for so many others, a hobby where one is able to meet and make many friends. In the early days the dogs that I had the greatest success with were: Lorphil Liberator who was born in 1983 from Cotterlee and Crisdig breeding. Nicky was a heavily marked tricolour who had personality plus in the showring. He went Best in Show at the Northern Cavalier Club show under a highly respected gundog judge, Mr. Jimmy Cudworth. He gained his Junior Warrant at 16 mths of age gaining his last two points at Bournemouth Championship show under Mrs. Dianne Schilizzi. Lorphil Leprechaun, ( 1986 1998) sired by Ch. Wishwin Horatio out of Cotterlee Catriona, a Ch. Homaranne Caption daughter. Shaun was a heavily marked blenheim who was awarded Best Puppy in Show at the Southern Cavalier Club s Championship show in 1987 and won a Res. CC at Blackpool Championship show in the same year. An original piece by artist, Barbara Bond Framed size 17.5 x 21.5 inches Tickets can be purchased from Sharon Ellis cavalaine@sympatico.ca. Please note the tickets will be available for sale on June 25 and 26 at Eastlake & CFSO Specialty Shows The Great Cavalier Raffle Over the years assorted items have been donated to the thrill of everyone who has attended our annual CFSO June Specialty Show. AGAIN THIS YEAR THE TRADITION CONTINUES. If anyone wishes to contribute an item to the CFSO raffle table, please call Norma Moffat 905 854-0517 or bring your item on June 25th or June 26th. The CFSO Raffle table will be on display for both Shows. Tickets will be available on June 25th and 26th. Many thanks to all last year s donors and participants. This has been a great fundraiser! Lorphil Liaison, Megan born in 1984 sired by Ch. Homaranne Caption won well for me, winning her first CC at SKC from Mr. Colin Fereday. Megan produced, in 1988, a beautiful litter to Paulian Blackthorn, a black & tan dog belonging to Pauline and Ian Sidgwick. From this litter I kept the most beautifully marked tricolour bitch, Lorphil Love Patch who also won very well during her showing years. She gained the CC at Leeds Championship show. Patches bred on well for me and produced some super pups. One of her sons from her last litter, Lorphil Love Potion sired Pauline and Ian Sidgwick s Champion Paulian Magpie. As well as my Cavaliers I also have whole-colour King Charles Spaniels. I have been fortunate to make up two ruby Champions, Ch. Lorphil Red Lace and her daughter Ch. Lorphil Copper Lace and several Reserve CC winners. All my King Charles have been bred from Maibee and Maplehurst stock, the very successful partnership of Joyce Robins and Shealagh Waters. At the last Championship show in 2010 I was thrilled to gain a 3rd CC with a B/T bitch, bred by Jeannie Coupland (Tucherish) and then at the first Ch. Show in 2011 this same bitch s litter brother, owned by me, gained his first CC. Their father is a ruby dog, Lorphil Copper Sunrise, 1CC, bred by me, and great, great grandson of my very first Champion Bitch. I began judging in 1982, locally in the North East of England and since 1991 have awarded Challenge Certificates to the following Cavaliers : 1991 SKC tri bitch Hilarny the Siren of Hometown 1993 Darlington B/T dog Ch.
