NEWS RELEASES KEEP HORRY COUNTY BEAUTIFUL LITTER CLEANUPS Conway, South Carolina The Keep Horry County Beautiful Committee announces a volunteer opportunity for people or organizations interested in assisting with upcoming litter cleanups in our community. Trash bags, gloves, safety vests, and trash grabbers will be provided. Saturday, July 11, 2015, 8 a.m. Carolina Forest Boulevard The Carolina Forest Sunrise Rotary will clean up litter along Carolina Forest Boulevard (from Hwy 501 to Carolina Forest Elementary School). Volunteers will meet at 8 a.m. in the Ollie s Bargain Outlet parking lot located at 2100 Oakheart Rd in Myrtle Beach. Contact Elizabeth Howland at 843-591-1125 for more information. HORRY COUNTY ANIMAL CARE CENTER TO HOLD PET VACCINATION CLINIC Conway, South Carolina The Horry County Animal Care Center will hold a vaccination clinic, 21 July 2015, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the animal shelter located at 1923 Industrial Park Road in Conway. The Clinic will offer the following services: Distemper/Parvo $10--must be at least 8-weeks old (canine) Bordatella $10--must be at least 8-weeks old (canine) Rabies $10--must be at least 4-months old (canine & feline) Microchip $15--must be at least 8-weeks old (canine & feline) Rhinotracheitis/Calici $10--must be at least 8-weeks old (feline)

Dogs and cats are both welcome; dogs must be on a hand-held leash and cats must be in a pet carrier. The Animal Care Center holds these clinics monthly. To help homeless animals in Horry County find loving homes, the Animal Care Center will offer discounted adoptions the first Friday and Saturday of each month. Potential adopters are encouraged to visit and spend time with the animal they are interested in. All of the animals are already spayed or neutered and have their shots up to date, however younger animals may need to be returned later to have shots and/or spay/neutering done. The paperwork is easy and only takes a few minutes to fill out. Adoption fees are discounted and typically include spaying/neutering, vaccines, heartworm or leukemia testing, heartworm and flea preventative, intestinal parasite treatment and microchipping. Qualifying new pet parents also get 30-days free pet health insurance and coupons from local pet businesses. ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE CAROLINA BAYS PARKWAY PROJECT Thursday, July 16 Saturday, July 18 Monday, July 20 Tuesday, July 21 There will be a single lane closure of Peachtree Road, approximately 1 mile south of Dick Pond Road between Renata Lane and Sweet Home Church Road, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. GLENN S BAY WIDENING & INTERCHANGE PROJECT Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 8 p.m. 6 a.m., the left northbound lane of US 17 Bypass will be closed for asphalt work. Sunday, July 12, 2015, through Thursday, July 16, 2015, from 8 p.m. 6 a.m., there will be a single lane closure of Glenn s Bay Road for asphalt work.

Monday, July 13, 2015, through Friday, July 17, 2015, from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m., the right-hand eastbound and westbound shoulder of Glenn s Bay Road from Evergreen Circle to US 17 Business will be closed for utility relocation. Monday, July 13, 2015, through Friday, July 17, 2015, a portion of Caropines Drive will be closed for utility relocation. Tuesday, July 14, 2015, from 7 a.m. 5 p.m., the westbound right-hand lane of Holmestown Road will be closed for utility work. Tuesday, July 14, 2015, through Thursday, July 16, 2015, from 8 p.m. 6 a.m., the right westbound lane of Holmestown Road will be closed from US 17 Bypass to Blue Jay Drive for construction traffic access.
