You can earn 4 hours for helping out that day, so mark your calendar and come on out. You also may test your own dog and also earn hours for helping. DOT s: Jackie Kobierecki said they are looking for helpers for our training classes. If interested in helping please talk with her. Kayla Baudhuin would be the person to talk with as we wouldn t be walking as WDC members but joining a newfoundland group of dogs. Then Neenah/Menasha Memorial Day parade Penney hasn t heard anything from them yet, but they are slower to get their information out. The Flag Day Parade will be coming up on Saturday June 9 th starting at 2 pm. This parade can be very hot for the dogs to walk in so a decision to walk with dogs would be made closer to the parade date. Canine CPR & First Aid Class: Len said that he and Patty will be able to offer the classes because he found another book to replace the old one he has been using. The next class will be April 21 here at the club from 8 until noon. You will learn how to keep your dog alive until you can get them to a vet. An event cannot run smoothly without great help. At WDC, we are blessed with superior volunteers who all pitch-in to help the club from Friday morning set up--to clean up on Saturday afternoon. Thank You! The day was successful with over 90 runs with new agility teams. Participants cheered each other on. Club members were full of encouragement to these brand new teams. New this year, we had vendor Jodi Bauer from All Pawsitive selling collars, toys, shirts, signs, and everything dog related. A complimentary doggie treat bar and human hospitality table greeted our participants. Many ribbons, title certificates, and title toys were awarded to those earning qualifying runs. Two NQ baskets were drawn for those not lucky enough to qualify. I know some people may think things were a little over the top. However, it is my personal goal to make each new agility participant feel welcome at the WDC. They are our future. As a club, we may not be able to hold the largest agility trial, but wouldn t be great to be known as the friendliest and most welcoming? Absolutely! A special thank you to Chelsea Wood for being our evaluator/judge. Also, a very special thank you to Terri Bartz for organizing the pre-act run-throughs the Saturday prior to the ACT event. This really helped our participants by answering their questions ahead of time and to get the butterflies out before their debut runs! Way to go TEAM WDC! AWESOME job! Respectfully Submitted by Mary Huntington

WINNEGAMIE DOG CLUB, INC. RULES FOR YARD USAGE One of the benefits of club membership is the use of the yard to run your dogs. Therefore, you must be an APPROVED CLUB MEMBER to enjoy it. To identify you to other club members, you MUST have a yard pass hanging from your vehicle s rear view mirror. This can be obtained from WDC s Yard Pass Chairperson after you are an approved member. If you walk or bicycle to the club, carry the yard pass with you. Club members who see a vehicle without a yard pass are instructed to call the Menasha Police Department. Picking up after your dog(s) is VERY IMPORTANT. As you re doing so, don t hesitate to pick up any that is missed by someone else. Most likely you like how clean the yard is, and it can only be kept that way through a joint effort from all of us. If someone else is using the yard when you arrive, be sure to ASK PERMISSION to bring your dog(s) in. Not every dog wants playmates. If you are using the yard and choose to let your dog(s) play without new playmates, please be aware there is a 15 MINUTE TIME LIMIT from the time the next person arrives. If no one is waiting, feel free to use the yard as long as you like. For the safety of the dogs and people, please do not use LONG LINES on dogs and refrain from using PRONG COLLARS when dogs are playing with each other. If the training center is rented out for a day or weekend, the yard will be closed, since BUILDING RENTAL also INCLUDES the exclusive use of the YARD. Dates will be posted before the event in the newsletter and/or on the bulletin board by the yard. Occasionally the yard is SATURATED WITH WATER, and dogs running and playing will tear up the lawn and could become hurt. During these times (usually in the spring), the yard will be closed. It will be posted on the bulletin board near the entrance and on the website. By adhering to these rules, we can all be assured that the yard will continue to be a place where we can enjoy some active time with our best friends. 2018 WDC YARD PASSES ARE READY!! A 2018 Yard Pass is required to use the Club s front and back fenced yards. The new Yard Passes are Lime Green and Black and they are to be placed in the clear plastic hanging pockets. So, don t throw away the plastic hangers. Take out the old 2017 Yard Pass and place the new Lime Green and Black passes in the hanger.

The plastic hangers are to hang from your rear view mirror. If you bike or walk to the club, carry the hanging pocket pass with you. Family Memberships may have two FREE passes. Single memberships may have one FREE pass. Extra passes are $1.00 each and extra plastic hangers are $2.00 each. If your pass is damaged or stolen, replacement passes can be obtained for $3.00 fee (pass $1.00 and hangers $2.00). If you get a new license plate number, you will need to get a new pass. The passes will change yearly. ALL CLUB MEMBERS MUST HAVE PASSES BY MAY 1. We need your help please help enforce the yard-use policy! Look at the cars for the people using the fenced yards. If someone using the yard doesn t have a yard pass, please courteously ask him or her if they are WDC members. If they are not members, tell them the yards are for MEMBERS ONLY and tell them how they can become WDC members. If someone is abusing the posted rules, give the license plate number and complaint to any board member or Linda Allen. Feedback/concerns/suggestions contact Linda Allen or any board member. To obtain a car pass, complete the application below and bring with you to the membership meeting, where Linda or Michael Allen will be on hand to distribute yard passes. Or you can mail the completed application with a stamped, self- addressed envelope to Linda at the address on the form. 2018 YARD PASS ORDER FORM Name: Street Address: City/State/ZIP: Phone: Type of Membership: Ο Family (2 free yard passes) O Single (1 free yard pass) Number of Yard Passes Needed: License Plate Numbers: 1st Plate 2nd Plate ADDITIONAL YARD PERMITS ($1.00 for yard passes each, $2.00 for plastic hangers each, make check or money order out to WDC): Number of extra Passes: Number of extra Plastic Hangers: License Plate Numbers: Bring completed application to a monthly membership meeting or mail with a stamped, self-addressed envelope to: Linda Allen 1730 North Outagamie Street Appleton, WI 54914 920-731-4202
