Only a first place with a clear round completed within the course time set by the judge will count towards grade progression. Standard classes may be scheduled for Agility Shows as Agility classes or Jumping classes. All standard classes must contain the Weaving Poles obstacle. Standard Agility classes must contain the following elements: "A Ramp", Dog Walk and See-Saw. With this proviso classes are defined as follows:- Class Structure. A Class may either be held as a Graded Class or a Combined Class. A Graded Class may be scheduled for one or more consecutive grades with separate results and awards issued for each grade. A Combined Class may be scheduled for more than one consecutive grade with one overall set of results. Progression. Progression from each grade will require one Agility win or three Jumping wins in standard classes at that grade, except that progression from Grade 5 will require 3 wins at Grade 5, one of which must be an agility class. Progression from Grade 6 will require 4 wins at Grade 6, two of which must be agility classes. Results from Combined Classes will only count towards progression from the dog s current grade. Lower Height Option. Societies may offer the Lower Height Option to all dogs in that height category and may be offered at all grades. It is to be run as part of any Standard class as defined in the regulations and must be clearly identified in the schedule. Each relevant class will have two heights with a change part way through to raise/lower jump height and competitors must run at their entered height. The order in which the heights will run must be detailed on the ring cards / plan. There will be only one course walking at the start of the class. In a class where the Lower Height Option is available show organisers may offer one set of awards by combining the results of each height or may offer separate awards for each height category.

Competitors will be allowed to walk the course set at Small, Medium or Large height without their dos(s) before the class begins. Hurdles may be raised/lowered during the course walking time if multiple heights are offered within the same class. When the Lower Height Option is scheduled a dog may only be entered at either he Full Height or at the Lower Height and it cannot compete at a different height in any other class at that competition, including special classes. For these purposes a competition shall be defined as all classes covered within the same schedule. Points Progression. At the handler s discretion a dog may progress up to Grade 4 by winning 100 points at each grade, using the Agility Warrant points scheme, Regulation K3.c refers, except that there is no requirement for a minimum number of Agility points. If this method of progression is selected, the handler must ensure the Show Secretary signs the dog s Agility Record Book at the first show entered at the higher grade. There is no time limit on this progression. However, once a dog has progressed, it cannot return to a previous grade. Progression on points must be done prior to the close of entries. It is not possible to change a grade on points once the entries have closed. STANDARD CLASSES Only first prizes and points gained in standard classes at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows may be used for progression through the classes. (A dog is only eligible for one grade.) In defining the eligibility of the owner or handler for grade 1, the three jumping wins and points progression referred to in the definition apply only to one dog and not an accumulation of dogs. Grade 1 (Elementary) For owners, handlers or dogs which have not gained a first place in any Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows. NB Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 1 (Elementary) are not eligible for this class. Grade 2 (Starters) Open to dogs which are not eligible for Grades 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and have not gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 2 at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows, or elected to progress on points from Grade 1. NB Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 2 (Starters) are not eligible for this class. Grade 3 (Graduate) Open to dogs which are not eligible for Grade 1 or 2 or have elected to progress on points from Grade 2 at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows and dogs which are not eligible for Grades 4, 5, 6 or 7. Grade 4 (Novice) Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 3 or elected to progress on points from Grade 3 at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows and are not eligible for Grades 3, 5, 6 or 7. Grade 5 (Intermediate) Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 4 at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows and are not eligible for Grades 3, 4, 6 or 7. Grade 6 (Senior) Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of 3 first places at Grade 5 at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows, one of which must have been gained in an Agility (not Jumping) class, and are not eligible for Grades 3, 4, 5 or 7. Grade 7 (Advanced) Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of four first places at Grade 6 at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows. Two first places must be gained in Agility (not Jumping) Classes. Championship Class (Kennel Club Championship Agility Certificate) Open to dogs having qualified to compete in Grade 7 which have had 4 wins at Full height in either Grade 6 or Grade 7, at least 2 of which must be gained in agility classes. To consist of 2 qualifying rounds of Standard Kennel Club classes, 1 Agility and 1 Jumping Class and a final round of Agility to be held at the same Show. All rounds of a Championship Agility Class and any Kennel Club heat, semi-final or final must be run at Full Height.

SPECIAL CLASSES Societies may schedule classes other than those defined above as Special classes. The eligibility for Special classes must be defined by the Society and included in the schedule. The word Special must be included in the title of the class. Where special classes are classified for older and/or inexperienced dogs, the height of the hurdles, the A-ramp, and the dog walk, and the length of the long jump, may be reduced below the dimensions specified in these regulations, in which case such dimensions must be included in the class definition in the show schedule. Of such a temperament or is so much out of control as to be a danger to the safety of any person or other animal. 5. Likely to cause suffering to the dog if it continues competing. The circumstances of such a removal shall be recorded in the competition / show Incident Book and submitted to the Kennel Club. 23 Dog Agility is a competitive and physically strenuous activity. It is the responsibility of the owner / handler to ensure that their dog is "fit for function" and that they themselves are fit to take part. By signing the entry form you confirm that to the best of your knowledge your dog is fit and able to take part in Agility classes at the show. 24 In estimating the number of awards won, all wins up to and including 25 days before the start of the competition (ie 30th May 2017) shall be counted when entering for any class. For these purposes a competition shall be defined as all classes covered within the same schedule. In the event that a dog becomes eligible for the next grade at a particular show, after the entry for that show has been sent, it is the competitor s responsibility to notify the show secretary at least 14 days before the date of the show (ie 10th June 2017). The dog will then be moved into the appropriate class(es) for the next grade. The dog must be moved into the corresponding number of classes as were entered at the lower grade. If there are fewer or no classes available for the next grade the competitor should be offered a refund of the relevant entry fees. 25 Should circumstances so dictate the Society, in consultation with the judges may alter arrangements as necessary. Such changes and the circumstances surrounding them must be reported to the Kennel Club. 26 In the event that the show is cancelled owing to unforeseen circumstances, the society will refund fees, less reasonably incurred expenses. If the show processor has the provisions to do so, competitors will be refunded in the manner in which they had entered the show, but in any event the society will refund fees within 3 months of the show date to all those who had entered and requested a refund within 1 month of the show date. 27 Except for mobility aids, nothing shall be carried in the hand while the dog is under test and food shall not be given to the dog while in the ring. Competitors are prohibited from wearing bags or leads whilst under test. 28 Should the judge deem a rerun is required, any result and/or faults gained in the previous run must be discounted.

29 Separate entry forms must be completed by each owner and must be signed by the owner or his authorised agent in accordance with the conditions specified thereon. Entry forms must be accompanied with the appropriate fees. 30 (Not applicable) 31 Competition of Dogs Suffering from Contagious or Infectious Disease - No dogs suffering from infectious or contagious disease or having been exposed to such disease during the period of 21 days prior to the Competition may compete. Competitors must run as close to their running order as possible. Failure to do so may be reported to the Kennel Club. In Championship classes competitors must run in exact order specified in the Regulations. 33 Animals in Event No animal other than one officially entered shall be brought into the precincts of the event during its continuance, except any dogs registered to assist the disabled, or dogs required for educational or instructional purposes or by permission of the Board. This ring must be supervised by a responsible adult with agility knowledge. 36 Welfare of Dogs An exhibitor (or competitor) whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not knowingly put their dogs health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. A breach of this Regulation may be referred to the Board for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. The use of pinch collars, electronic shock collars or prong collars, is not permitted at any Agility show licensed by the Kennel Club. This shall apply at the venue and within the precincts of the show. 37 All dogs will be entered at this show at their owner s risk and whilst every care will be taken, the Committee or its Agents, or Servants will not accept any liability for any loss, damage or injury, however caused, to dogs, persons or property at this show. 38 Any alterations to this schedule will be notified on the Agilitynet web site, and Agilitynet facebook page if time permits. This will be deemed sufficient notice. 39 Any person failing to clean up after their dog or dogs, driving or driving at excessive speed or behaving in an aggressive or abusive manner will be asked to leave the show. 40 No dogs are to be tied up at the ringside and there should be no throwing of balls for dogs to chase in the ring field or day parking. 41 Dogs should be kept on the lead at all times except when competing or in an exercise/camping area. Dogs should be put back on their leads as soon as practical after completing a run. 42 Competitors should conduct themselves at all times in an appropriate fashion and should display good manners and respect towards other competitors, ring party and judges. 43 If you enter at Lower Height Option classes and subsequently win out into Grade 4 and cannot compete at lower height, Lune Valley will offer you the option of either: Entering Grade 4 classes at Full Height, Entering Any Size Classes and a refund or a full refund.

!! CRUFTS AND DISCOVER DOGS AGILITY HEAT REGULATIONS 2018/2019 General regulations The following regulations apply to all Crufts and Discover Dogs qualifying Agility competitions and heats. All events must be judged under the appropriate Kennel Club regulations H & H(1) in force at the time of the event. Competitors entering any competition will be deemed to have agreed to abide by these regulations. All heats must take place at Kennel Club licensed shows and the class name in the schedule should replicate exactly the name of the competition as stated in these regulations. All Kennel Club supported competitions should be judged using standard marking. If the entry for the heat exceeds the Kennel Club limit for a judge in a day, then the class will be equally split and another judge appointed for the second part. Qualifiers and points from that heat will be taken in equal proportion from each part. Dogs entered in any heats must be eligible for the competition entered. Judges have the right to check the dog's Kennel Club Agility Record Book to ensure the dog is running in the correct height category. Where points are accumulated throughout the year these will be allocated to the specific handler and dog partnership (no substitution of dog or handler may be made). If there is an equality of points after all the heat results have been calculated, the dog and handler partnership which has achieved the highest place at a heat will take precedence in the final allocation of places. An entry fee will be charged for each dog at Crufts. Crufts Large Novice ABC Agility Stakes (Special) 2018/2019 Eligibility This competition is a special agility competition open to all dogs excluding Border Collies, Working Sheepdogs and any of their crosses. (ie: neither parent can be a Border Collie or Working Sheepdog) In the event of a dispute over the parentage of a dog, a decision will be left to the judge s discretion. Those dogs eligible to compete in competition for Large dogs are those measuring over 430 mm (1 foot 5 inches) or under at the withers. Dogs should be eligible to compete at Grade 1-5 at the time of qualifying for the semi-final. Any subsequent wins by the dog will not alter its eligibility to compete in the semi-final or final. Competition Rules The competition will be held under Kennel Club rules and regulations for Agility and any handler entering the competition will be deemed to have agreed to abide by these rules and regulations. Standard rules will apply and all equipment used shall be of a standard size for that height category. The semi-final will consist of one round of agility competition and one round of jumping competition; the top 10 dogs qualifying for Crufts will be those with the least combined faults in the fastest combined time calculated over the two rounds of the semi-final. If there is equality of faults and time, the agility round will take precedence. The final will consist of one round of agility. The winner of the Crufts Large Novice ABC Agility Stakes will be the dog and handler with the least faults in the fastest time.

! Qualifying There will be 10 qualifying shows throughout the year. The first 10 placed dogs in each heat will have the following points awarded: 1st place = 10 points, 2nd place = 9 points etc. down to 10th place = 1 point. Qualifying points will be awarded down to 10th even if the show does not award class places down to 10th. If a qualified handler or dog is unable/unfit to attend the final, reserves will be taken from dog/s with the highest number of points from the heats which have/has not qualified. The top twenty dogs, with the most points, will be invited to a semi-final at Discover Dogs 2018. A maximum of three representatives of any one breed will be invited to the semi-final. This decision will be at the organisers discretion. Discover Dogs will be held at Excel, London in 2018. Car parking will not be provided by the Kennel Club. The first ten highest placed dogs at the semi-final will be invited to compete in the finals to be held at Crufts Dog Show, NEC Birmingham in March 2019. Crufts Medium ABC Agility Stakes (Special) 2018/2019 Eligibility This competition is a special agility competition open to all dogs excluding Border Collies, Working Sheepdogs and any of their crosses. (ie: neither parent can be a Border Collie or Working Sheepdog) In the event of a dispute over the parentage of a dog, a decision will be left to the judge s discretion. Those dogs eligible to compete in Medium dog competition are those measuring over 350 mm (1 foot 1¾ inches) and those measuring 430 mm (1 foot 5 inches) or under at the withers and eligible to compete in combined Grades 1 to 7 for Medium dogs. This competition will be classified as combined Grades 1 to 7. Competition Rules The competition will be held under Kennel Club rules and regulations for Agility and any handler entering the competition will be deemed to have agreed to abide by these rules and regulations. Standard rules will apply and all equipment used shall be of a standard size for that height category. The semi-final will consist of one round of agility competition and one round of jumping competition; the top 10 dogs qualifying for Crufts will be those with the least combined faults in the fastest combined time calculated over the two rounds of the semi final. If there is equality of faults and time, the agility round will take precedence. The final will consist of one round of agility. The winner of the Crufts Medium ABC Agility Stakes will be the dog and handler with the least faults in the fastest time.

! The first ten highest placed dogs at the semi-final will be invited to compete in the finals to be held at Crufts Dog Show, NEC Birmingham in March 2019. Discover Dogs Small / Mixi Pairs Challenge (Special) 2018 This is a competition consisting of eight heats of jumping. The competition is open to small dogs, partnering either a medium dog or a large dog, and heats will be scheduled as a Special combined class for grades 1 to 7. Eligibility The competition is open to two dogs with separate handlers. One dog must be a small dog, 35cm or under at the withers, the partner can be either a medium dog, over 35cm but 43cm or under at the withers, or a large dog, over 43cm in height. Handlers with more than one dog may enter in more than one pair. However, they may only qualify a maximum of two dogs for the final. No surrogate handlers will be allowed in the final. Should a qualified dog or handler within a pair be unable/unfit to enter the final, that pair will not be able to compete. Their place in the final will be offered to the next available pair with the highest points who have not qualified. Competition Rules The competition will be held under Kennel Club rules and regulations for Agility and any handler entering the competition will be deemed to have agreed to abide by these rules and regulations. Standard rules will apply and all equipment used shall be of a standard size set at the maximum height for each category. This is a relay competition with a baton change taking place either in a box or behind a line at the judges discretion. No part of the next dog/handler must be over the start line at the change over; failure to observe this will incur a penalty of twenty faults. An elimination will incur a penalty of 100 faults, a dropped baton will incur a penalty of 20 faults. A team member may only be eliminated once during a round. The competition will involve a change of height of the obstacles being jumped by the medium/large dogs at one stage during the class. The judge will decide which height of dog to start with and will announce the change of height when relevant. It is the competitors responsibility to be available accordingly. The course will be walked by everyone before the beginning of the class. The final will consist of two rounds of jumping competition. The winners of the Discover Dogs Small / Mixi Pairs will be the pair with the least combined faults in the fastest combined time calculated over the two rounds of the final. Discover Dogs will be held at Excel, London in 2018. Car parking will not be provided by the Kennel Club. Qualifying Points will be awarded to the specific pair (consisting of two handlers with their dogs) which competes at the heat. Points are not transferable between different pair combinations. Pairs will score 15 points for 1 st place down to 1 point for 15 th place. Points will be accumulated over all eight heats and the 15 pairs with the most points will go through to the final at Discover Dogs 2018.

! Crufts Team Agility Competition (Special) 2018/2019 These competitions will be scheduled as a Special combined class for grades 1 to 7 with a separate qualifying competition for each height category. There will be up to 8 separate heats for the Large height category and up to 9 heats for Small and Medium categories held at Kennel Club licensed shows throughout the country. Eligibility This event is open to teams from Kennel Club Registered and Listed Status clubs which, at the time of entry to the qualifying heat, have indicated in their Kennel Club registration details that they have an interest in agility or are an Agility Listed Status Club. Each team entry will consist of 4 dogs from the same height category, with 4 different handlers, plus up to 2 reserves. Only dogs entered in the team or as reserves at the qualifying event will be permitted to compete for that team in the final should a change of dog be necessary. Only handlers that competed at the qualifying event or those listed as reserves will be permitted to compete for that team in the final should a handler be unable to compete. Any amendment to the handlers entered at the heat must be notified and recorded in advance of the team competing. All team members must be members of the club at the time of qualifying for the CRUFTS Teams Final. Dogs do not have to be entered into any other class at a qualifying heat and a team entry will constitute acceptance of the Organising Club and Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. Clubs may only qualify one team in each height category for the final at CRUFTS 2019. Once a handler or dog has run for a Kennel Club Registered/Listed Status Club in a CRUFTS Team Agility qualifying event they cannot run for another Kennel Club Registered/Listed Status Club in a qualifying event at the same height category during the qualifying year. (Handlers or dogs entered as reserves may run or be entered as reserves for a different team, provided they did not run in the original team s heat). Competition Rules The competition will be held under Kennel Club rules and regulations for Agility and any handler entering the competition will be deemed to abide by these rules and regulations. Standard rules will apply and all equipment used shall be of a standard size for that height category. It is a team relay event and a suitable baton should be used which must remain behind the start line at all times. When the dog/handler returns to the start/finish, there will be a baton change between the handlers. No part of the next dog/handler must be over the start line at the change over; failure to observe this will incur a penalty of twenty faults. An elimination will incur a penalty of one hundred faults, a dropped baton will incur a penalty of 20 faults. The total time of the team of four dogs must be recorded for marking purposes irrespective of the number of faults or eliminations that a team incur. If any of the team members fail to complete the course or any of the team dogs fouls the ring the whole team will be disqualified. Please note that some areas of marking for the Crufts Team event differ from standard marking due to the fact that it is a relay class with cumulative marking and time. Qualifying The winners of each heat will be invited to CRUFTS 2019 to compete in the Small, Medium or Large Finals. In the event that the winning team or club in a heat has already qualified for the final then the highest placed unqualified team in that heat will be invited to the final at CRUFTS.

All winners of the Olympia Grand Finals will be invited to compete in the following year s Quarter-Final or Semi-Final at the International Agility Festival without qualifying through the usual procedure via heats. For the Novice winner this will be dependant on the dog still being eligible for grades 3 5 on the date of entries closing for the Kennel Club International Agility Festival.
