Excellent is for dogs that have acquired the Agility Intermediate title, but have not yet earned the Agility Excellent title. Master Excellent is for dogs that have acquired the Agility Excellent, the Agility Master Excellent, Agility Excellent Jumper or Agility Master Excellent Jumper titles. Regular: Any dog may enter the regular class (as long as it has not competed in the Selected or Veteran class) Selected: Dogs may carry Regular Division legs to Selected or Veteran. Dogs may run in either Regular or Selected Division but not in the same set of trials. CKC must be notified if an owner does not want to carry Regular Division legs to the Selected Division for titling purposing. Veterans: A dog 7 years or older may be entered in the Veterans class. The dog will retain its titles and qualifying score previously earned but may not revert back to the Regular or Selected Classes once it has run in the Veterans class. Dogs entered in the Veterans Class run the same course as Regular but jump one or two jump heights lower and receive 10% more time (20% more time in Steeplechase)

Major Changes to CKC Agility Effective January 1, 2017 New Game: Jumps and Tunnels This is an entry level class to introduce dogs to running a full course without contacts or weave poles. It is a time plus fault course that does not fault wrong courses or refusals. Knocked bars are faulted 5 points. The goal is to complete all the obstacles, jumps and up to 3 tunnels in a time frame that requires a dog to run at a rate of 2.3 to 2.8 yards per second. The course is to be of a simple straight forward nature to encourage dogs and handlers to negotiate the 13 to 15 obstacles. There are no levels in this game and dogs can earn the following titles: JT (three leg under 2 judges), JTX (10 legs) and JTX2 (20 legs) The International Challenge Class both Standard and Jumpers is now a titling class (However, SD&G is not offering this class). Equipment and Performance Changes: Currently the use of the Closed Tunnel is suspended. A Breakaway tire is now mandatory. This must displace/separate in response to 16 to 20 lbs. of horizontal force. If the tire breaks apart while the dog is performing the obstacle, it is faulted as a knocked bar (5 points in Steeplechase and Jumps & Tunnels and a failure to perform in other classes.) A regular bar jump may be substituted for the panel jump in high winds. Only the down contact of the dog walk will be judged. The up contact will no longer be faulted. Weave poles must be completed in a full set. If the sequence is broken, the dog must restart the sequence from the beginning of the first pole, regardless of where the sequence was broken. A dog may make three attempts at the weave poles but must carry onto the next obstacle without completing the weave poles if not successful in three attempts. (The judge will instruct the handler to move to the next obstacle). An attempt is defined as the dog entering the poles and doing at least 2 poles. Start and Finish Line shall be the same regardless if manual timing or electronic timing is used. (The front plane of the first jump or tunnel and the back plane of the last jump or the exit of the last tunnel. Selected and Veteran Class Course Times: Selected Division will receive 10% more time and Veteran dogs 20% more time than the Regular Division. Dogs may carry Regular Division legs to Selected or Veteran. Dogs may run in either Regular or Selected Division but not in the same set of trials. CKC must be notified if an owner does not want to carry Regular Division legs to the Selected Division for titling purposes. Maximum Course Time is the Standard course time for an 8 jumping dog multiplied by 1.25. All particulars called for on the entry form must be complete. Any telephone calls required to confirm information will be made COLLECT. Exhibitors must abide by errors made in entering their dog/s regardless of how or by whom the entries were made. No entry will be accepted unless accompanied by full entry fees. The SD&G club cannot accept fax or phone entries and reserves the right to refuse any entry, subject to CKC rules. If because of riots, civil disturbances or acts beyond the control of the Trial Committee, it is impossible to open or complete the trial, no refund of entry fees will be made. All entry confirmation and judging schedules will be mailed or e-mailed as soon as possible after entries close. Attention U.S. Exhibitors: We will accept U. S. cheques (checks) as noted in entry fees. Due to the constantly fluctuating currency rates, discounted cheques will not be accepted. Personal cheques will be accepted; however, they must be made payable in U.S. funds in amounts noted under entry fees. Listing Fees A CKC listing fee of $9.70 (incl.13% HST) Can. or U.S. per dog per trial is payable with the entry fee if the entry of the dog does not include a CKC individual Registration number, PEN (Performance Event Number), ERN (Event Registration Number), or Miscellaneous Certificate Number (MCN). Eligibility: To be eligible to compete in this trial, a dog must be at least 18 months of age and registered with the CKC or eligible for registration with the CKC, have a PEN, an ERN, a CKC MCN (Miscellaneous Certificate Number) or a CCN (Canine Companion Number). Bitches in season are not permitted to compete in the trial. However, entry and listing fees will be returned, providing a veterinarian s certificate stating that the bitch was in season within the 10 day period preceding the trial is submitted to the Trial Secretary on or before the day of the trial. It shall be the duty and obligation of the trial giving club to see that a judge, club official, volunteer, or any participant at an event held under these rules, is not subject to indignities of any kind. The Agility Trial Committee Chair shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of this regulation, and the Discipline Committee shall have the authority to take such action as it deems fit, on receipt of a report indicating that this has occurred. (4.1.3 t)
