Level Classification Please read the information below to help you complete your entry form. Please enter classes based on your dog s ability not the handler or owners KC, UKA or BAA competition status. Ability NURSERY: Dogs new to agility competitions. Dogs should be at least 12 months old on the day of the show. Maximum Jump Height will be 450mm (1ft 5.7ins). There will be no seesaw or weaves. The A-Frame & Dog-Walk will be lowered (approximately 1450mm (4ft 6ins) & 1070mm (3ft 6ins) respectively). SCHOOL: For less experienced dogs aged 18 months or older on the day of competition. Dogs may jump at competition height or one height down, e.g. dogs that measure Large at KC or UKA may jump Standard, dogs that measure Standard in UKA may jump over Medium, etc. The courses may contain weaves and seesaw. The A-Frame and Dog Walk will be at full height. UNIVERSITY: For more experienced dogs aged 18 months or older on the day of competition. Dogs may jump at competition height or one height down, e.g. dogs that measure Large at KC or UKA may jump Standard, dogs that measure Standard in UKA may jump over Medium, etc. The courses may contain weaves and seesaw. The A-Frame and Dog Walk will be at full height. ANYSIZE: Dogs aged 18 months or older on the day of competition. Maximum Jump Height will be 550mm (1ft 9.65ins). For dogs that for any reason do not jump their measured height or cannot weave or seesaw. Dogs may jump at any height the handler chooses. The course will be the same as the School courses however the weaves and seesaw will be exchanged for another obstacle. The A-Frame & Dog-Walk will be lowered (approximately 1450mm (4ft 6ins) & 1070mm (3ft 6ins) respectively). VETERAN: Dogs aged 9 years or older on the day of competition. Maximum Jump Height will be 450mm (1ft 5.7ins). Dogs may jump at any height the handler chooses. The course will be the same as the School courses however the weaves and seesaw will be exchanged for another obstacle. The A-Frame & Dog-Walk will be lowered (approximately 1450mm (4ft 6ins) & 1070mm (3ft 6ins) respectively). Veteran and Anysize classes will be run over the same course together but results will be split as separate classes Jump Heights and Dog Height Categories LARGE: for dogs measuring over 430mm (1ft 5ins) at the withers. Jump height will be 650mm (2ft 1.6ins). STANDARD: for dogs measuring KC Large height who wish to jump lower OR UKA Standard measure between 430mm (1ft 5ins) and 500mm (1ft 7.7ins) at the withers. Jump height will be 550mm (1ft 9.65ins). MEDIUM: for dogs measuring over 350mm (1ft 1.75ins) and under 430mm (1ft 5ins) at the withers. Jump height will be 450mm (1ft 5.7ins). SMALL: for dogs measuring under 350mm (1ft 1.75ins) at the withers. Jump height will be 350mm (1ft 1.75ins). MICRO: for dogs measuring under 350mm (1ft 1.75ins) at the withers. Jump height will be 250mm (9.85ins). Dogs may jump at competition height or one height down, e.g. dogs that measure Large at KC or UKA may jump Standard, dogs that measure Standard in UKA may jump over Medium, etc.

A combination of tunnels and boxes. A jumping course that resembles a clock face. A course where the only piece of contact equipment used is the dog walk of which you have to complete 2 times. A jumping course which consists of increasing and decreasing circles. Agility - First complete the jumping section with speed and then finish with your contacts and/or weaves. A course where the only piece of contact equipment used is the A-Frame of which you have to complete 3 times. You either avoid or take the tunnels depending on the judge. Show processing by
Leagues This year PODS will be offering prizes for the dog with the highest number of points gained across the season. Presentations will take place at the PODS Christmas Party at The Valley Hotel on 16 th December 2018 Points The top 10 dogs competing in each class at each show will gain points towards the league. 1 st place gains 11 points, 2 nd place gains 10 points, 3 rd place gains 9 points and so on down to 10 th place. Any clear rounds after 10 th place will gain 1 point. Points will be awarded to all classes apart from training and fun classes on 24 th June 2018. There are 5 leagues: Nursery (all sizes combined) School (Large/Standard & Medium/Small/Micro) University (Large/Standard & Medium/Small/Micro) Anysize (all sizes combined) Veteran (all sizes combined) Rosettes will be awarded to the top 4 dogs in each 5 league / height classification. Trophies will be awarded to the winner of each league / height classification. Dogs can stay in their eligible level for the season regardless of number of wins to allow you to gain consistency and confidence with your dog. If you wish to progress up a level during the season, you cannot take your league points to the next level. The winner of the Nursery League will be automatically moved to Anysize or School depending on handler preference.
PODS Agility Shows Rules and Regulations 1. Dogs entered for this show do not have to be registered on the Kennel Club s Activity Register, or with UKA, or with BAA. 2. Entries are limited to 75 dogs. Entry fees are 10 per dog for nursery class and 12 per dog for all other levels at full day shows, Entry fees for the all other grades at the competitions on the 11 th April 2018 and 24 th June 20178 will be 10. No refunds will be given after the closing date. 3. The entry fee includes a training/practice session in the morning for nursery dogs supervised by experienced agility trainers, followed by the Nursery Competition which will commence in the afternoon. There will be one agility course and one jumping course for nursery dogs. Dogs will be allowed to run each course twice - best run counts. 4. Competition for all other grades will commence at 9am, except on 11 th April where competition for all other grades starts at 12pm, and all dogs run each course once. 5. Changes can be made to the level and height your dog is entered in after sending your entry. Due to the nature of the show, dogs entered in Nursery, Anysize and Veteran Classes may change height on the day of the show. 6. Dogs entered in Nursery classes must be 12 months of age or older on the date of the show and have had an introduction and basic experience of agility equipment. Dogs who have competed in open mainstream competition will not be allowed to compete in Nursery classes - if they are unable to enter School or University classes then they should be entered into the Anysize class. 7. Height definitions may be seen on page two of this schedule. 8. Handlers and Owners must sign and date the declaration on the entry form. Entries will be invalid otherwise. 9. During the training session, the trainers will be experienced and offer advice as they see appropriate. Dogs should be kept on a lead unless under instruction or by permission of the trainer. 10. Food/treats may be used to reward a dog during the Nursery training session but must not be used during any of the competition. 11. Toys may be used by Handlers in the training sessions. A silent toy may be held by the handler during the Nursery competition but must not be given to the dog until completion of the run. No toys to be held by the handler at other levels. 12. Kennel Club Standard marking Regulations will apply to PODS School, University, Anysize and Veteran Classes. The first three run-bys and refusals in PODS Nursery Classes will not be marked, thereafter KC Standard marking Regulations will apply. 13. When competing dogs may wear a flat collar. Dogs must not wear any type of slip, half-slip collar, lead or harness when competing, or during the training session. 14. In the unlikely event that the show has to be cancelled, PODS will refund fees, less reasonably incurred expenses. 15. All dogs are entered at their owner s risk. Whilst every care will be taken, PODS will not take responsibility for loss, damage or injury to dogs, people or property whilst at the show. 16. Handlers entered for competition will be permitted to bring their non-competing dogs to the show. Details of these dogs should be written on the reverse of the entry form and clearly marked NFC (Not for Competition). This is for safety and security reasons only. 17. Judges may run their own dogs for competition in classes they are not judging. 18. Bitches in season are not allowed to compete or be mated at the venue. 19. Any person handling their own or any other dog in a harsh manner will be asked to leave the show. 20. A dog shall be withdrawn from competition and removed from the show if it is: a. A Bitch in season b. Suffering from any infectious diseases or contagious disease c. Interfering with the safety or chance of winning of an opponent
d. Of such temperament or is so much out of hand as to be a danger to the safety of any person or other animal e. Likely to cause suffering to the dog if it continues competing 21. PODS is the sole arbiter in respect of all matters and disputes at this event. 22. Dogs must be exercised in the designated areas only and must be kept under control at all times. 23. Dogs must be kept on leads except when competing or in an exercise area. Be aware of other dogs in the vicinity when letting dogs off lead and throwing toys, etc. Only three dogs per handler should be off lead in the exercise area at any time. 24. Please clean up after your dog. Anyone found not doing so will be asked to leave the venue. 25. Care must be taken at all times near the river. Children under 16 and dogs must be closely supervised when in the vicinity of the river, which marks the boundary between the exercise field and neighbouring property. A lifebelt is available on the river bank. 26. Anyone wishing to sell goods at the show may only do so with prior permission of PODS. Directions to Tai Lawr From Main Land: Follow A55 (dual carriageway) west across Britannia Bridge onto Anglesey following the Caergybi/Holyhead signs over the Britannia Bridge. Leave the A55 at J5 (signed BRYNGWRAN A5). Turn RIGHT A4080. At crossroads turn LEFT (signed BRYNGWRAN A5) into village, past pub on your left (IORWERTH ARMS). Soon after pub take first left into narrow road next to a yellow painted cottage, before the sign for the School/Ysgol. Then**** From North (Holyhead): A55 towards Bangor. Leave A55 at J4, follow A5 into Bryngwran and turn right next to a yellow painted cottage. Then**** From all other points on Anglesey: Follow signs to the A55 leaving at J4 or J5 and follow instructions above as appropriate until**** **** All routes: Follow road under road bridge, past Bryn Glas garage on left. After white house on right (horses heads on gateposts), turn RIGHT at next crossroads (signed dead end). Follow road until you reach T junction. Turn RIGHT (signed PODS Tai Lawr). Over cattle grid - last gate at end of row is the entrance to Tai Lawr. Enjoy the shows!
