What? All Breed Open and Youth Poultry Show! Where? Rainbow Valley Grange Hall. 2160 Rainbow Valley Blvd., Fallbrook, CA. When? April 30, 2016. Who? All poultry, 6 months and older, that is listed in the American Poultry Association and the American Bantam Association, Standards of Perfection. This is an APA and ABA sanctioned show. Why? To promote small farms, small Agricultural related businesses and the fun of raising exhibition poultry! What else is going on? Food Booth, put on by Rainbow Valley Grange. Breakfast snacks and Hot Dog lunch! Raffle table. Please bring something for this! Serama Tabletop Show. Showmanship and Knowledge Bowl at the Youth Show! Open to all Youth exhibitors, no uniforms required. Dress for Showmanship should be neat and clean. Both Showmanship and Knowledge Bowl are free, but Showmen must have a bird entered in the Sun Valley Poultry Club show. Showmanship Classes: Primary 5-8, Junior 8-11 Intermediate 12-14, Senior 15-17. Age on day of Show. This will be an outside event. Please bring chairs, and shade. Because of space limitation, this is a Carry Cage show. There will only be enough cages set up for the largest class. Birds will be brought up for judging, one class at a time. In addition to saving space this set up increases biosecurity, as birds are only exposed to other birds for a short period. Please make sure your birds are comfortable in their carriers. Exhibitors are responsible for care of their birds. Bird sales area. All judging will be by the latest edition of the American Standard of Perfection, Copyrighted by the APA inc. Application for Membership may be made at the Show or may be sent to the APA, but must be made prior to judging to be eligible for APA Awards. The APA invites you to be a member. Annual dues are: $20.00 for 1 year, $50.00 for 3 years, $25.00 for 1 year, outside the U.S.A and Canada. Junior dues (18 and under) $15.00 a year or $40.00 for 3 years. Endowment Trust Life Membership is $365.00. All Annual and ETL members are receive our Year Book and are eligible to win points toward a Master Exhibitor award. ABA Special Meet Awards: Champion Ribbons to Champion and Reserve Champion Bantam. $1 Bantam Buck for Champion and Reserve for all seven bantam divisions providing there are a minimum of 25 birds competing, plus a free listing in the upcoming ABA Yearbook in the section Who's Who in Bantams. Star pin plus $1 Bantam Buck for Champion and Reserve Champion in all other classes of 100 or more, plus a listing in the upcoming yearbook section Who's Who in Bantams. All wins in Classes of 100 or more will be denoted with a Star* and be retained in the ABA records to accumulate towards the Master Exhibitor, Master Breeder, and Lifetime Achievement Awards. Only ABA members are eligible to compete for the above awards. Starred wins are earned in classes of 100 or more in the following: Champions and Reserve Champions in the seven bantam divisions Best and Reserve of breed and variety Best display when 7 or more bantam displays are shown Best and Reserve Display when 10 or more bantam displays are shown. Best and Reserve Trio with 30 or more trios shown by 4 or more exhibitors. A single bird is eligible for only one award and can earn only one starred win. Awards are subject to change.
