CLASS INFORMATION: o The entry form is part of the test, so take special care in completing it. o Qualifying ribbons will be awarded to those dogs that pass the test. o Exhibitors are encouraged to enter dogs that meet the eligibility requirements in both the Beginners Agility Test and the Sanctioned NADAC Agility Trial taking place at this site. o Every effort will be made to accommodate exhibitors showing in both events. o A last call will be made in the main arena, before Beginners Agility is closed. IMPORTANT: o Please check your dog's NADAC registration number on all test related materials including the results posted at the test. You should report any errors to the Test Secretary immediately. NADAC records trial results as they are submitted by the host clubs/groups. The individual trial results submitted by the club are uploaded to the www.nadacforum.com normally within two weeks after the NADAC office receives them from the club. o Please accept the responsibility to review those results, and check that your registration number and qualifying points, as reported by the club, are correct. You can join the Forum by going to www.nadacforum.com and submitting your request. Your dog s points can be found in the members section. If you find an error in the reporting of your dog's qualifying points or registration number, please contact the host club. The host club is responsible for correcting any errors and informing NADAC. o Levels: Points earned at a higher level of a class, prior to the completion of the lower level title, will not be recorded by NADAC for future use. If a dog earns points in a level of a class that they are not eligible to title in, those points will not be added to the dog's records. NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS: o Below is a brief summary of NADAC rules. Please refer to www.nadac.com for a full explanation of all NADAC rules and up-to-date information. o This test will be held under the current rules and regulations of NADAC with Haute Dawgs as the sponsoring organization. o Exhibitors, through submission of entry, acknowledge that they are knowledgeable of NADAC rules and regulations, agree to abide by all rules in effect at the time of this trial, and have an active NADAC registration for their dog. o Please note that NADAC trials should provide a safe and fun environment for both exhibitors and their dogs. Aggressive dogs will not be tolerated and will be excused from the trial. o The show committee has the right to refuse any entry. Anyone not currently in good standing with NADAC or Haute Dawgs will not be allowed to enter this trial. o The sponsoring club will not be responsible for the loss or damage to any dog exhibited, or for the possessions of any exhibitor whether the result is accident or other cause. o Checks not honored by the bank do not constitute a valid entry fee. There will be a $25.00 service charge for bank returned checks. o Dog have a valid NADAC registration number before entries will be accepted. For a number go to http://nadac.com/afrm/dogregfrm.asp o This test is open to any dog at least 12 months of age for Level I, 14-months for Level II and 16-months for Level III, including purebred and non-purebred. o Bitches in heat, lame, or blind dogs are ineligible for entry, as is any dog with a deformity which may cause a judge to not be able to reasonably assess the dog s ability to function and perform agility obstacles safely, and in a manner that is in the best interest, health, and welfare of the dog. o There shall be no refunds for entries in the event a dog and/or handler are dismissed from competition, regardless of the reason for such dismissal. o It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the organizing committee, be asked to leave the trial site. In such case, no fees shall be refunded. o Should weather or ground conditions, due to recent weather, create unsafe conditions the Test will be cancelled/terminated. Should this happen after the event has started; entries for incomplete runs will be returned. If possible, the event will be moved/ completed on Sunday. Email your request for an electronic copy to: team@myagilitydog.com PURPOSE OF BEGINNERS AGILITY TEST - The purpose of a NADAC Beginners Agility Test is to demonstrate the ability of the dog and its handler to perform many of the basic tests to prepare them for a future agility career. The dog should be under control at all times and show a willingness to work with the handler. Handlers should always conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike fashion. ELIGIBILITY FOR ENTRY: o All healthy, trained dogs over 12* months of age are eligible to compete in NADAC Beginners Agility test. There is no leeway in the dog s age, even by one day; the dog MUST be a minimum of twelve months old on the day of the test in which the dog is to compete. (*14 months for Level II, 16 months for Level III) o Dogs must be registered with NADAC prior to competing in a NADAC Beginners Agility test. o Getting your dog s number is fast and easy, just register on-line and receive a number immediately. A snail mail registration will take a minimum of four weeks to process. Go to http://www.nadac.com/dogs.htm o All NADAC Beginners Agility tests shall be open to purebred and mixed breed dogs. BASIC RULES - (See Beginners Agility Program Guidelines for complete rules. http://nadac.com/rules.htm ) o All exercises are timed. o The beginning of the time allowed will be indicated by the tester saying good luck. o Handlers may have up to 15 seconds between exercises to settle their dogs or praise them. The dogs should remain under control of the handler and not run away or wander away sniffing between exercises. o The tester may end the test and not allow for any additional exercises to be performed if they feel that the dog is not under sufficient control of the handler or if he/she feels the dog is unable to perform all obstacles in a safe manner. TITLES - Once a dog has three qualifying rounds in a Level, they will receive a Beginner Agility title. A purple qualifying ribbon shall be given for each qualifying round in each class. BEGINNERS AGILITY ENTRY, TEST AND SAMPLE COURSE o Levels I and II Test consists of 8 parts, Level III has 7 parts. o Part 1 is the written segment; correct completion of the entry form. Entrant must: Write their dog s registration number in a correct format Indicate how tall their dog is at the withers and the height their dog would jump if entered in the Proficient Division and if entered in the Skilled Division. Level II - The dog should be able to stand and be measured without showing excessive fear or aggression towards the tester while being measured. List the breed of their dog or indicate mixed breed. (Any made up breeds are not acceptable and a mixed breed should not be listed by the mix of breeds, such as BC/Aussie. It should just say mix breed or All American, etc., no breed should be listed unless it is a purebred.) Write in a manner that is legible for the tester to read clearly. o The other seven/six are course exercises. See the Beginners Agility Guidebook for details. o A sample set of test exercises is attached. While the exercises do not change the Tester may change the order. o At this Test, the a-frame exercise will be replaced with Hoop/Barrel exercise. o The handler may have treats in a closed bag or pouch or pack, but they may not withdraw treats to give the dog until all tests are completed and they are outside the ring at least 10 feet. o Most exercises are completed off-leash without collars; leash and collar maybe replaced between exercises. o A copy of the Beginners Agility Guidebook is available at http://nadac.com/rules.htm.
