G E T N OT I C E D Judges Ken Reinhart of WISILL HRC, and Mark Freis of Cowtown HRC, created a duck hunting scenario water test in a flooded grass and weed pond. Vanessa Everett, Grand Site Coordinator, along with the help of volunteers, began the transformation process of this open pond to well camouflaged winger stations brushed in. Numerous floating and land Big Foot duck decoys were strategically placed in front of the retriever and handler. Once handlers made their way to the last holding blind, they were greeted by Jimbo Earles, Grand Committee Member. The handler/retriever team made their way to the line and loaded three shells. The test was started by a duck call, and followed by three marks. Bird one came out right to left off a levee, landing on the edge of the pond at 72 yards. Bird two came out right to left off a levee landing behind moderate cover on the bank at 92 yards. Bird three came off a levee, left to right, landing in the back of the pond at 82 yards. On the way back from the last mark, a diversion bird was thrown left of the working line. After retrieving the last bird, the retriever was sent to run a blind between mark two and three at 112 yards. The Fall Grand Judges.
