However, he may have a conflict and be unavailable. The Central Carolina Poodle Club would like to thank Terry Price for the use of Oakridge Kennels for the tests, and for all his help with equipment, advice and contacts. This WC/WCX test is open to Standard, Miniature, and Toy Poodles both days. Poodle Club of America rules will be used. WC/WCX Rules and WC/WCX Guidelines are available online at http://www.poodleclubofamerica.org or will be furnished in writing upon request to the Test Chair. The Poodle Stakes is a nonregular class open to all dogs 8 weeks old and up. On Saturday, May 30, 2009 the test is open to Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, and Flat-Coated Retrievers. The rules for the AKC parent clubs for these breeds will be followed. Handlers should be familiar with the rules for their breed. Judges will be provided with the rules in advance. The judges for Saturday have been approved by the GRCA and the FCRSA. Labrador Retrievers must follow the guidelines for obtaining a WC from their parent club, but the test will be set up to meet their requirements if we have Labrador entries. There is a limit of 45 entries on Saturday. Any slots not filled by Poodles may be filled by these 3 breeds on Saturday. The start time will be announced with the running order, after the draw is held. Running order will be sent to each exhibitor by email, will be posted at http://www.centralcarolinapoodleclub.org, and will be posted at the site. Claudia Straitiff 2

Birds: Fresh killed ducks will be used for all Poodles. Pigeons, chukkars, or other PCA approved game birds will be substituted for ducks on land retrieves only if a sufficient number of ducks are not available, and the same type of bird will be used for all dogs. Ducks, smaller ducks, or game birds will be used for Stakes. Chukkars or other available upland birds will be used for land for those breeds requiring upland birds on land. Prizes: Each qualifying dog will receive a rosette ribbon and duck band. Qualifying WC and WCX Poodles are eligible for Poodle Club of America certificates. Each dog or puppy showing interest in birds or retrieving in the Stakes will receive a ribbon. The tests have been approved by the GRCA and the FCRSA to obtain WC/WCX titles. Owners of Labrador Retrievers must follow the instructions from the AKC parent club to obtain a certificate. Bitches in Season and injured dogs: In heat bitches cannot run and must not be out of vehicles until after all dogs have run, and must remain on leash at all times when not in a vehicle. A refund of the entry fee, less bird costs, will be available for bitches in season. A similar refund for injured dogs will be given if a veterinarian receipt is provided. Refunds: We will not be able to give refunds except for bitches in season and injured dogs, under the conditions noted above. Test Headquarters: Oakridge Kennels, 1110 Unionville Indian Trail Road, Monroe, NC GUIDELINES There is some shade available but not necessarily near the test location. Please bring your own shade and water for your dogs. Dogs must be on leash or confined when not running in the test. Electronic collars are not permitted. Please exercise your dogs away from the test location and those areas where there is likely to be foot traffic. PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG. This property is privately owned. We must leave this facility in exceptional condition. Individuals not cleaning up after their dogs, or themselves, will be asked to leave. Please park only where directed. Do not drive in areas, or down the private road, unless directed to do so by a member of the trial committee. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STAKES (Saturday only) Any owner-dog team wishing to participate is welcome. Come have fun, test your dog s instincts and give retrieving a try! The stakes are open to puppies 8 weeks and up. Give your veteran dogs a chance to see what they can do! No experience by either dog or handler is required but you do need a hunting license. NC law requires the owner and handler of a dog to have a valid hunting license. There is a limit of 20 Stakes entries. SPECTATORS Spectators do not have to have a hunting license but cannot volunteer to help in the field. You may help with food and other non-field areas. Please wear dark clothing. Jeans are fine. Hats, shirts, pants, etc. should not be white or pastels, as these colors will distract the dogs being tested. Browns, grays, and khakis are all good colors. Handlers of Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, and Flat-Coated Retrievers must wear clothing meeting the requirements of their tests. Please park where directed. It is important that the dogs being tested are not distracted. Please bring a chair, shade, and water for your dogs. Dogs may not be loose. Spectators must follow the guidelines on this page. Please place chairs for viewing only in the area as instructed by the Marshall. We will have someone available as much as possible to answer questions. Dogs should not be loose except when running the test. 3

HUNTING LICENSES The Central Carolina Poodle Club will obtain the proper NC Wildlife Resource Commission permit to hold a NCWRC sanctioned "field trial" per NC Administrative Code 15A NCAC 10B.0114. HOWEVER, all participants must have in their possession a valid, current hunting license from their state of residence. The CCPC will not be liable for anyone who does not have a current hunting license with him or her. We do expect the enforcement officer to come by, so please have your license available. EVERYONE should have a federal duck stamp. NC residents should have a hunting and waterfowl license OR a sportsman s license. All participants and volunteers involved with the dogs, guns, and/or birds must have a valid hunting license from NC or their state of residence. .MOTOR HOMES The test site is a private kennel. We are permitted to park a few self-contained motor homes on the grounds, but we do not want to abuse the privilege of using this site now or for possible future events. Please contact Jan Gray at fundogs@gmail.com to see if space is available and to get permission to have your motor home on the site. There will be a $20 / night fee for motor homes which will be paid to the land owner. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. MOTELS At the time this premium is printed, the following motels do accept dogs except where noted. However, please confirm this with them when making your reservations some may charge an extra fee or no longer allow dogs. Country Inn and Suites, 2001 Mt Harmony Ch Rd, Matthews, NC 704-846-8000 (this is the closest one to the test site). We have reserved a block of rooms here at a special rate. Reservations to get the rate must be made by May 12, 2009. A pet deposit may be required but will be returned when you check out if your room is in good condition. This is a nice motel and we were able to get special rates because we have stayed here in the past and left the place clean. Please help us maintain this relationship with this motel by leaving your room, common areas, and grounds clean and undamaged. Anyone not doing so will be reported to the test committee. Holiday Inn Exp Suites, 13470 E Independence Blvd, Matthews, NC 704-821-9800 Residence Inn Marriott Piper Glen, 5115 Piper Station Dr, Charlotte, NC 704-319-3900 Ramada Charlotte Northeast, 5415 N I 85 Service Rd (Equipment Dr), Charlotte, NC 704-596-2999 HOTEL / MOTEL REGULATIONS Notice to Dog Owners / Exhibitors The following rules have been established for the good of all exhibitors concerned. Please follow these rules so that we may continue to use these motels for future events. Thank you for your cooperation. 1. Plastic sheeting is to be placed under every crate in hotel rooms. This will keep carpets clean and dry. It is the responsibility of the owner to provide plastic sheeting for each crate. 2. Dogs must be crated when owner is out of the room. No exceptions. 3. Dogs must be kept on leash at all times while in the hotel, lobbies, or on hotel grounds. Rooms and lobby must be kept clean of dog debris. 4. Dogs should be exercised in designated areas on hotel premises. Every dog owner is expected to pick up after his or her own dog and dispose waste in designated trash cans. It is the responsibility of the dog owner to find out from the innkeeper where these areas and cans are. 5. No dog may be bathed in the hotel due to severe clogging problems in the drain pipes. 6. Rooms will be inspected daily by members of the hotel staff and observed violations or damages will be reported to the hotel management and/or the investigative committee. 7. The Investigative Committee, working with a fair and equitable system, is charged with investigating complaints. 8. Each dog owner/registrant is expected to cooperate with the Investigative Committee, hopefully setting damage claims on the spot, or else must be willing to furnish information such as Insurance policy numbers and other pertinent information required. 9. Should a hotel/motel for cause, deem it necessary to cancel room privileges, the registrant agrees to forego legal actions against the club and the hotel/motel. 10. Please confirm that the motel/hotel accepts dog(s) when making your reservations 5

BIRDS Everyone entered in the test or stakes, or working at the test, may take ONE of the birds (1 bird/dog/day) used in the test home. If there are birds left after everyone has one, each person may take additional birds on a first-come first-served basis, as long as everyone who wants them gets an equal share. Birds that were purchased but not used for the test may be purchased at the end of the test on Sunday. Ducks are $12. We do not have prices for chukkars at the time of this printing. We can also order quail or chukkar (live) for you for training after the test if you need any. We sell these at our cost. If you want to pre-order chukkar or quail, email Jan Gray at fundogs@gmial.com for prices. If you know you want ducks/chukkars/quail to take home that will not be used for the test, we can order extras for you. You can order them on the order form on page 7. DINNER SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE TEST SITE! Be sure to fill out the dinner reservation form included in this premium list and return it by May 20, 2009. Come relax and socialize after the Saturday test. We are offering this catered dinner so that we can get to know each other and celebrate our dogs without having to worry about our dogs in cars or motels. We are only charging enough to cover the cost of the caterer. We hope to see you all there! We will provide drinks but not alcoholic beverages for insurance reasons. You may bring alcoholic beverages but CCPC is not responsible for any actions or consequences as a result of any alcoholic beverages. CATALOGS We are taking pre-orders for catalogs, and are only charging what they cost us to print. We will not have many extras available for purchase. If you want a copy of the catalog, please include it in your order. ENTRY FEES We try to keep our costs as low as possible to allow as many people to participate as possible. As a small club, we must at least break even to continue to hold these tests, and they are expensive to put on. Entry fees for non-poodles are higher due to the extra time and paperwork involved, having to have gunners for live fliers, and having to purchase different birds (which we must go pick up). 6

WC/X TEST VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP: CCPC is a small club, and putting on these tests requires a lot of volunteers. Almost all positions require people to have hunting licenses, so we cannot just call on our general membership to help. Please help us continue to have tests by volunteering to help. You will, of course, have plenty of time to get your dog out and exercised prior to running. Please return this form with your entries! My dog(s) are entered in: SATURDAY WC WCX SUNDAY WC WCX Please select the job(s) you are willing to do. Depending on the number of volunteers, we hope to have you only work one or two positions each day. We will assign jobs after entries close, and send the assignments with the running order. Throwers will be using wingers except for breeds requiring live fliers. More than 1 person is needed for every position, as there are 2 blinds, and there is a lot of equipment to move. We will try to have a motorized vehicle available to help move equipment, but it all needs to be loaded and unloaded. set-up before test WCX land gunner WCX land thrower WC land gunner WC land thrower move equipment from land to water 2 blinds with equipment, judges equipment, etc. pack up equipment at the end of the day and store WCX water gunner WCX water thrower WC water gunner WC water thrower LUNCH AND DINNER RESERVATION FORM AND ORDER FORM dinner will be Saturday evening, May 30, 2009 at the test site lunches will be available both days Reservations must be received by May 22, 2008.
