REGISTRATION PACKET FOR CB SMITH PARK TRAINING HUMANEK9, Inc. offers various training classes designed to assist owners in training and bonding with their dogs using positive reinforcement methods. We feel strongly that a successful relationship is created between dog and owner by building trust and mutual understanding. We believe in and use humane training methods that enhance the communication between owner and dog. Our classes are taught using positive-reinforcement based training and encourage the use of humane people empowering techniques in our classes. Our positive training methods make communication possible by praising positive behavior while ignoring or correcting negative behavior. WHERE: WHEN: WHERE: CB Smith Park 900 N. Park in the lot across from the field by shelter 19. REGISTRATION: Pre-registration is required. You must call 954.288.1021 to pre-register. COST: Payment can be made either in cash or by credit card at the Park Office during the hours of 9:00 5:30pm on Monday through Sunday. Full payment is due one week prior to the start of your first class and is non-refundable. Payment will guarantee you a reserved spot in class. If payment is not made one week prior to the class start date, you might not be able to participate in the class. REQUIREMENTS: - Participants must pre-register to attend and have paid in advance for their class. - One dog per owner, no exceptions. - All dogs must be current on vaccines and wearing a current rabies tag, no exceptions. - Registration and Release of Claims forms must be provided on the first day of class. You cannot participate without these forms. - No children or visitors will be permitted. - All dogs involved in the class must be non-aggressive towards humans and other animals. BRING WITH YOU: - Your registration and release forms. Make sure your dog is wearing a current rabies tag on their collar. You will NOT be permitted to attend class without this information. - A 4 or 6 foot nylon or leather leash (no retractable leashes). - Fresh water and water bowl. - Plastic poop bags to clean up after your dog. - Treats your dog really likes and doesn t normally get (i.e., freeze dried liver, small pieces of soft, mushy treats, jerky strips, pupperoni, pieces of hot dog and/or cheese, etc.). - Sneakers or closed comfortable shoes are required (we will be outside and moving around). - A proper collar which would be either a Martingale, nylon buckle, leather buckle, Gentle Leader, Halti or body harness. NOT PERMITTED: Choke collars, prong collars, pinch collars, spike collars, chain collars, citronella spray collars, electric shock collars, metal link leashes or retractable leashes.

This training will provide you and your dog with the necessary techniques and skills required to become a certified Therapy team. In addition, dogs will also be given a temperament assessment. Obedience Practice / Drill (6 months and older) $15 p/class Pre-requisite Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced Obedience) Owners and dogs that have already taken basic, intermediate and/or advanced classes are invited to join our obedience practice classes. This class does NOT teach basic, intermediate or advanced cues, but rather is a reinforcement or practice class for those who have already trained their dog and want to keep practicing.
Rally (6 months and older) 6 week class; $125 Rally is a fun and exciting team sport for dogs and their handlers! Dog and handler teams navigate a course with numbered signs indicating different exercises to perform such as Sit-Down-Sit, Straight Figure 8, Moving Side Step Right, About Turn Right, etc. Teams navigate the course at a brisk, continuous performance. Handlers are encouraged to talk to their dogs during the performance. Although Rally, both the APDT and AKC versions allow for titles, our training class is purely for fun for you and your dog. However, if you are interested in pursing a title with your dog, this class will definitely help you to prepare. All dogs, purebred, mixed breeds and dogs with disabilities are encouraged to participate. AKC Canine Good Citizen Classes and Certification (5 months and older) 6 week class $150 Certification is given on the last day of the class; CGC is a certification program designed to recognize dog with good manners at home and in the community. This certificate is acknowledged by and received from the American Kennel Club (AKC). We will be introducing dogs to: Fetching games such as Frisbee and tennis balls Flirt poling Tug Tricks for Treats (5 months and older) 1.5 hour seminar $60 This seminar will cover about 4-6 tricks (at the instructor s discretion) and will give you and your dog something really fun to do together!
