There will be rabbit and cavy showmanship, but please plan to participate in rabbit showmanship if you own a rabbit (cavy showmanship reserved for 4-Hers who only have cavies). Rules & Regulations: All animals MUST be checked in on Friday, Sept. 2S th between 6pm and Spm. This is a coop show, meaning that all rabbits must stay in the barn in the cages provided overnight. The only rabbits that are permitted to go home Friday night are animals that will be in the parade the following morning. Please inform the Show Secretary/Assistant Show Secretary if you are taking your bunny home so a coop can be saved. All cavies must be brought in Friday night for check in, but must be taken home the same night and brought back in the morning. There is no appropriate caging/climate controlled area for cavies in the barn overnight. If you are showing 3 or more animals, please arrive before 7:30pm on Friday night. Check in closes at Spm, and the Check In Committee will not be available after that time to check animals in. Any animals arriving after Spm on Friday, Sept. 2S th will be considered scratched and all entry fees will be forfeited. No animals will be accepted (check in or entry) on Saturday, Sept. 29 th Hyou do not check in on Friday, you cannot show on Saturday!! Any animals showing any signs of disease or poor health (including but not limited to: nasal discharge, wet tail, impacted feces, mites, sore hocks, vent disease, diarrhea, or any other unhealthy/unclean condition) that is deemed unfit to be shown must be removed from the show room and fairgrounds immediately. Contagious conditions subject your entire entry to review, and one or all may be sent home. If you have any question as to the health of your animal, please leave it home! All decisions regarding the health and fitness of an animal to be shown will be reviewed by the Show Chairperson and/or Assistant Show Chairperson. Any disputes should be handled respectfully and calmly so a decision can be reached. The Show Chairperson and/or Assistant Show Chairperson have the final say in all decisions. All carriers must be taken home the night of check in, and can be brought back in Saturday AFTER the show. Carriers cannot be left in the barn overnight (it's not safe-no one will be there to look after them) and they cannot be in the showroom during the show due to the trip/fall hazard they present. Please limit items on top of and under the cooping cages as these also can pose a hazard to competitors and their families. Coolers, chairs, etc are welcome in their designated areas, but must come Saturday (cannot stay overnight). Grooming tables are also pennitted, again in designated areas. All animals must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor. In the event that it is found out before, during, or after the show that the animal is not owned by the child showing it, all awards and premiums will be forfeited. Judging starts promptly at loam (or as soon as the parade goers arrive at the rabbit barn) on Saturday, Sept. 29 th All animals and exhibitors must remain on the Fairgrounds until 4pm. No animals may leave the showroom before 4pm without the express permission of the Show Chairperson and/or Assistant Show Chairperson. If animals are removed before 4pm without pennission, all awards and premiums will be forfeited.

All judging will be done according to ARBAI ACBA standards (excluding Pet & Cloverbud classes). Classes will be provided and awards will be given for all CURRENTLY RECOGNIZED breeds and varieties only. (Working breeds and varieties that have a working standard (i.e. Lionheads, Velveteen Lops, etc.) may be entered, however, the exhibitor must present a copy of the working standard at the time of entry.) Per ARBA rules, animals shown under a working standard are only eligible to advance within their own class, and cannot compete for Best In Show. All rabbits MUST be tattooed in the left ear with black ink. All tattoos should be clearly visible and easy to identify. Illegible or unclear tattoos are subject to refusal. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO TATTOOING THE DAY OF THE SHOW OR ANYWHERE ON THE FAIRGROUNDS! If you animal needs to be tattooed, please make arrangements at least one week in advance. ****ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS**** All cavies must be tagged in the left ear with a cavy tag. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO TAGGING THE DAY OF THE SHOW OR ANYWHERE ON THE FAIRGROUNDS! If you animal needs to be tagged, please make arrangements at least one week in advance. **** ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS**** All animals will be given a coop number, which will be written in the right ear with black permanent marker by a member of the Check In Committee at the time of check in. If your rabbit has recently been to another show, please make sure all marks are cleaned from the right ear. (Use rubbing alcohol or a baby wipe.) In accordance with government regulations, there will be a cloverbud class for participants between the age of 5 and 7 years. In order to compete in regular breed classes, exhibitors must have turned 8 as of January 1 st, 2012. There are no exceptions to this rule, and in no circumstance can a cloverbud compete in regular classes. (On your entry form, please write "Cloverbud" under variety. Be sure to include an ear number). Cloverbuds need only enter one rabbit or cavy. There will be a pet class for all animals that are not eligible to compete in regular breed classes. ONLY PET ANIMALS CAN BE SHOWN IN PET CLASS. Animals shall be considered "pet" quality if they are one or more of the following: mixed bred, spayed or neutered, or have one or more major disqualifications. White toenails, poor coat color, poor coat condition, overweight, underweight, old age, etc etc. are NOT qualifications for pet class. Unrecognized varieties (i.e. Harlequin Mini Lops or Mini Rexes, Broken colored White Cresteds. Etc.), off colored eyes (Vienna markings-colored animal, blue eyes), improper spotting/white coloration (Vienna markings- white feet, dutch markings on a mini lop, etc) are all examples of purebred animals that qualify for pet class. On your entry form, please write PET RABBIT or PET CAVY under variety, and be sure to include an ear number and sex. All animals MUST be carried to the table by the exhibitor that entered them. Entrants must also check in their own animals. Parents or siblings may assist the exhibitor to ensure child and animal safety, HOWEVER the child must be the one showing/checking in the animals. In the event of a child needing assistance, Junior Leaders are always available to help younger members. The exhibitor must be present at the time of judging. If the exhibitor is not present,

animals will NOT be shown for them and will be considered scratched from the show. Exhibitors will be given a maximum of 3 minutes to get their animal to be judged after the first call has been made. Great Scott's 4-H Rabbit & Cavy Club and the Topsfield Fair cannot be held responsible for loss or injury to animals andlor property, however all reasonable and prudent measures will be taken to ensure everyone's safety. As stated as in the Great Scott's 4-H Rabbit & Cavy Club Constitution, all children are the sole responsibility of their parent or guardian. The club asks that all children are supervised by a parent or guardian at all times while attending the show. (The bam is a very busy place during the fair, with lots of people coming and going. Please keep watch on your children. No rough housing or running will be tolerated.) No members of the public are allowed in the blocked off showroom area, and we need everyone's help in enforcing this. Only exhibitors and their immediate family members are allowed inside the blocked off showroom area. (This means no friends or invited guests, sorry!) It is very difficult to ensure the safety of every child with so many people around, and when members of the public see others being invited in, they think they can come in too. Parents, leaders, and adults--keep a look out, and if you see anyone in the showroom area you do not know, ask them if they are with an exhibitor, and if not, then politely explain that this area if for "exhibitors only". Please do not speak to any members of the media. Direct them to the Show Chairperson and/or Assistant Show Chairperson. All animals on the fairgrounds MUST be caged separately, even if they live together at home. This is important for the animal's health and safety (animals that live together might fight under extreme stress) and for the education of the public (many people think any two rabbits can live together, which is not the case, and can lead to fights and unwanted breeding). Cages will be assigned by the Show Secretary. Please do not coop any animals until told to do so by the Show Secretary, and do not coop any animals that have not been checked Ill. You must bring your own rabbit food. No exceptions! Please pack enough for two days-friday night and Saturday morning. There is water available in the barn, but you may also bring water from home (some towns have different water, and this could cause upset stomach/diarrhea/etc.) Food dishes and water dishes will be provided. No water bottles please! There will be ABSOLUTELY no hay allowed in the cages (it's messy and very hard to clean up)! All cages should be cleaned when animals are removed. Wire brushes/cleaning solutions are available for use as needed. Please make sure you place dirty food and water bowls in the appropriate place before leaving. How To Out Your Entry Form: Coop Number: Leave this blank Breed: Write in the breed of your rabbit or cavy Holland Lop, Mini Rex, Abyssinian, etc. If your animal is a pet, please write Pet Rabbit or Pet Cavy.
