ATTENTION ALL FOREIGN EXHIBITORS Effective Jan/1992 all dogs that are foreign-born and foreign-owned and enter Canada for the sole purpose of entering CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) events will no longer require a CKC registration number but will require an ERN - Event Registration Number. This ERN does not register a dog with CKC for breeding purposes as defined in the Animal Pedigree Act but rather enables a foreign-owned dog to be awarded titles by the Canadian Kennel Club. Each dog must have its own number. To obtain an ERN, mail or fax a photocopy of the dog's registration certificate with certified cheque, money order, VISA or MasterCard number (expiry date, cardholder's name and signature). Provide your complete address for return of the ERN to you. Cost is $58.50 + 5% GST. ERN MUST BE APPLIED FOR WITHIN 30 DAYS OF FIRST DAY OF ENTERING A CKC EVENT. Dog Show Rule books and Obedience Trial regulations are available from the Canadian Kennel Club. Cost per copy is $6.30. 2. The Show Superintendent will be in full charge of the show which will be governed by CKC rules. All rules and regulations, as outlined in the Alberta Kennel Club premium list, will also apply to this specialty. 3. Entries will be acknowledged after entry closing, with receipt, judging schedule and exhibitor passes. If such acknowledgement is not received one week before the show date, please contact the Show Secretary. 4. It shall be the duty and obligation of the show-giving club to see that a judge, club official, volunteer or any participant at an event held under these rules is not subject to indignities CKC rule book, Section 19.7. Please note: An exhibitor has the right to withdraw an entry up to the closing date and time as published in the premium list. This may be done by telephone but written or electronic notification must be received by the Show Secretary no later than the official closing date and time. If written notification is not received by that time, the dog will remain entered in the show. This Showcase is meant to display our breed to other exhibitors, the general public as well as fellow Doberman enthusiasts. The DOBERMAN SHOWCASE will be a highlight of the DPCC National Centennial Specialty Show. Every Doberman entered in the DPCC/ADPC in Conformation, Obedience, and Rally in official and unofficial classes is automatically entered in the Showcase. Dobermans entered only in Agility must enter one of the Specialties as Exhibition Only. Any other Dobermans not entered in the show must enter as Exhibition Only. Specialty Entries may be mailed to, or dropped off at 88 Greenwood Cres. SW, Calgary, AB. T3E 4X6 Entries may be paid with Visa or MasterCard. Online entries can also be paid by Interac. If paying by credit card each entry form must include a VISA or MasterCard number, expiry date, printed name of card holder and authorized signature. THERE WILL NOT BE ANY DROP BOXES Cheques dated after close of entries will not be accepted. Returned cheques & declined credit cards will be assessed a $25.00 service charge (Chapter 8.8, C.K.C. Dog Show Rules). Greyhound entries must be prepaid for delivery and will not be picked up. Please do not send entries by Registered Mail. To comply with instructions issued by the Canadian Kennel Club, we will be unable to accept any entry reaching our Show Secretary after the closing time and date. Please allow ample time for delays in the mail. ATTENTION FOREIGN EXHIBITORS: Please note that fees are due and payable in Canadian dollars. Due to consistently fluctuating currency rates, discounted cheques will not be accepted. Personal Cheques will be accepted, however, they are to be payable in Canadian funds. If you send a cheque in US funds, it must be made out for the full amount of the entry and no exchange will be refunded to the exhibitor. Please do not mark cheques Payable in Canadian Funds or At Par. They will not be cleared by the banks. To simplify the process, we urge that you purchase bank drafts or money orders payable in Canadian funds. Your understanding and cooperation is appreciated. Tendering of an NSF cheque in payment of entry fees will be considered non-payment of entry fees and is an offence punishable by CKC disciplinary action and cancellation of awards. The owner of a dog entered in this show is entirely responsible for any error in the entering of his dog, regardless of how, or by whom the entry was made. Overpayments and duplicate entries will be considered a donation to our trophy fund. Thank you! 4 Every entrant will have the opportunity to run with their dog around the ring and receive a Special Rosette, which has been created to commemorate the Centennial. We hope that you can join us to shock and awe Spruce Meadows and make the 2012 Centennial National Specialty Show an event to be remembered for the next century of Canadian Doberman history. Information for US Exhibitors on entering Canada To enter Canada from the States, US Citizens must show proof of identity; however as of June 1, 2009, to enter back into the United States, all US Citizens age 16 or older must have a valid Passport or Approved Secure Travel Document. Please be aware that all dogs must have a valid rabies certificate to cross the border. A valid rabies vaccination that has been given at least 30 days prior to entry into Canada is required to bring a dog into this country. Government regulations require a rabies vaccination certificate be provided for each dog. NOTE: Dogs less than three months of age do not require rabies vaccination. ATTENTION CANADIAN EXHIBITORS! CKC Non-Member Participation Fee (24-12-13) a) An annual non-member participation fee for awards and titles will be charged to a Canadian non-member of CKC. The fee is $57.60 + 5% GST. b) In order to protect the awards/titles earned, the non-member will have a choice either to become a CKC member or to pay the non-member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will cause all awards and titles to be cancelled. c) "these fees apply only to dogs wholly owned by Canadian resident non-ckc members and are not applicable to CKC members" *Please note that the CKC Membership Application and the Non-Member Participation Fee forms are available on the website, http://www.ckc.ca under CKC Services and then Forms On-line. If submitting a Membership Application, please ensure that you also complete the Non-Member Participation Fee form so that we are aware of the dogs involved. Payment of this non-member participation fee in advance is not necessary to enter these specialties. 9

Transition Obedience Classes Pre-Novice for any purebred dog that has not earned the title PCD (Pre Companion Dog) title in Canada. Dogs in this class may be handled by the owner or any other person. A person may enter more than one do in this class and must have an additional handler for each dog when they are judged together in group exercise. A dog may be entered in this class that has not earned the title of CD in Canada or US. The Pre Novice class is an elective class and earning a title is not a requirement to advance to Novice Classes. The CKC will permit the use of PCD signifying Pre Companion Dog to be used in connection with and after the name of the dog. In order to receive this title dogs must receive passing scores in three different trials under two different judges. Novice C for any purebred dog that has gained a CD, CDX, UD or any other advanced title and exercises will be performed and judged as described in the official Novice Classes, except that exhibitors may compete in the Novice C class indefinitely. Scored earned in Novice C are not eligible for High In Trail. This is an elective class and offered for those people who feel the dog requires ring experience. Dogs may be entered in Novice C class in addition to any of the Official Classes or Unofficial classes Novice Intermediate be for dogs of any recognized or listed breed and of either sex that have earned the title of (C.D.) Companion Dog, Companion Dog Excellent, Utility Dog and any other advanced obedience title in Canada. A dog eligible for entry in the Open A or B Class at any obedience trial held under these rules is also eligible for entry in the Novice C and Novice Intermediate Class at the same trial. The Novice Intermediate class (C.D.I.) is an elective class and earning a title is not a requirement to advance to a Companion Dog Excellent title. Scores earned by dogs competing in this class are not eligible for High in Trial. Dogs are eligible to compete in this class indefinitely. Dogs in this class may be handled or exhibited by the owner or any other person. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. Unofficial Obedience Classes Veterans Class for any purebred dog that has an obedience title and is 7 years of age or older on the day of the trial. The exercises shall be performed and judged as in the Novice Class. Dogs entered in this Class must also be entered in any Regular Obedience Trial class or for Exhibition Only. Team Class open to any 4 dogs of either sex which have attained not less than a CD title in Canada. The exercises shall be performed and judged as in the Novice Class. Each dog entered in this Class must also be entered in a Regular Obedience Trial class or for Exhibition Only. Rally Obedience Classes Rally Novice A Dogs entered in this class may not have won a CKC Rally Novice (RN) title or any CKC Novice Obedience title. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner, or member of their immediate family. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. Dogs that have earned titles or are not the owners may enter in the Novice B class. All exercises are judged on leash and dogs must enter and leave the ring on leash. Rally Novice B Any dog may compete in this class until a qualifying score in the Rally Advanced class has been earned. The owner or any person may handle dogs in this class. All exercises are judged on leash and dogs must enter and leave the ring on leash. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. Rally Advanced A This class is for dogs that have won the Rally Novice (RN) title but have not won the Rally Advanced (RA) title or any CKC Novice Obedience title. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner or member of their immediate family. All exercises are judged off leash and dogs must enter and leave ring on leash. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. Rally Advanced B This class shall be for dogs that have won the Rally Novice (RN) title. Upon completing the Rally Advanced (RA) title a dog may continue to compete in this class indefinitely. The owner or any person may handle dogs in this class. All exercises are judged off leash and dogs must enter and leave the ring on leash. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. Rally Excellent A This class shall be for dogs that have won the Rally Advanced (RA) title, but have not won the Rally Excellent (RE) title or any CKC Novice Obedience title. A dog may not be entered or exhibited in this class after official notification from the CKC that the dog has won the title (RE). No dog may be entered in both Rally Excellent A & B at any one trial. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner or member of their immediate family. All exercises are judge off leash and the dog must enter and leave the ring on leash. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. Rally Excellent B This class shall be for dogs that have won the Rally Advanced (RA) title. A dog may compete in this class indefinitely. Any person is allowed to handle a dog in this class. All exercises are judged off leash and dogs must enter and leave the ring on leash. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. For information only: Rally Advanced Excellent title -- Upon completion of the Rally Excellent title, qualifying scores may be accumulated from Rally Advanced B and Rally Excellent B to earn the Rally Advanced Excellent (RAE) title. To receive the RAE title, a dog must qualify ten (10) times in both Rally Advanced and Rally Excellent at the same trial. The title will appear at the end of the dog s name and a numeric designation will indicate the number of times the dog has met the requirements, i.e. RAE2, RAE3, etc. To be eligible to compete in these obedience or rally obedience trials, the dog must be 6 months of age and registered or be eligible for registration with the CKC, have an ERN, PEN or a CKC Miscellaneous Certificate number. A dog may be spayed, neutered or debarked. SEXUALLY ALTERED CLASSES Eligibility for the Altered Dog Classes shall be limited to dogs over 6 months of age which have been sexually altered by veterinary procedure. Points MAY NOT be carried from the regular competition judging to the Altered Dog Class judging. Two classes will be offered: Altered Male & Altered Female Classes will be placed first through fourth in both sexes, the first place winner from each class will be declared Winners and the second place winner will be declared Reserve Winners.
