Entry fee will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee. Post Dated Checks & Returned Checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Show Secretary will add collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitor may result in them being put on a CASH ONLY basis. No entry fees will be refunded if Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, an Act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, strikes and/or any other cause beyond the control of the Club or the Show Secretary. No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Entries will not be accepted without fees or signatures or the Agreement on the reverse side of the Official AKC Entry Form. Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing prior to close of entries. No dog wrongly entered in a class may be transferred to another class (except in case of wrong sex), nor can a dog be withdrawn after entries have closed. Except,...a correction may be made in the sex of a dog or a dog may be transferred from one division of the Puppy Class to another or between the Puppy and Twelve-to-Eighteen Month Class at a show prior to the judging, and except that dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship after the closing of entries for a show but whose championships are unconfirmed, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed or Variety competition at least one half hour prior to the scheduled start of the show. There will be no refunds for duplicate entries. The club will retain a $2.00 processing fee for entries pulled before the closing date. The owner or agent assumes all responsibilities for wrong or incomplete information of the entry blank. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may make such errors, and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date.

CONFORMATION TROPHIES Challenge Trophy s Best of Breed The Collie Club of Colorado offers from the estate of Lifetime club member, Lucille Kamber: From Schmid-Border Fine Arts "Winter Lamb". This limited edition sculpture has been mounted on a rectangular base. For permanent possession, this trophy must be won three times by the exact same registered owner(s), not necessarily with the same dog nor at consecutive shows. Until retired, this trophy will remain in the possession of the Collie Club of Colorado. (valued at $1,000.00) The Dian Boberick Memorial Trophy: A bronze sculpture of a playful collie sitting on a braided rug by PiperAnne Worcester. The trophy shall be awarded to the Best Puppy (chosen from the winners of the puppy classes). A plaque with the name of the owner and dog will be permanently attached to the base of the trophy. The winner will receive a rainbow and blue rosette commemorating the win. For permanent possession, this trophy must be won three times by the exact same registered owner(s), not necessarily with the same dog nor at consecutive shows. Until retired, this trophy will remain in the possession of the Collie Club of Colorado. Bred-by-Exhibitor American Bred Open WINNERS Best of Variety Competition Effective for all shows held on or after July 1, 1980, dogs which according to their owner s records have completed the requirements for a Championship after the closing of entries for this show, but whose Championships are unconfirmed, may be transferred from one of the Regular Classes to the Best of Breed or Variety Competition, provided this transfer is made by the Show Secretary at least one half hour prior to the start of regular judging at this show.(akc Rules, Chapter 11, Sect 6) NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING SINGLE DOG ENTRIES Entry Fee: $21.00 Judge: Mrs. Roxann Heit (AM) Judge: Mrs. Joan E Kirkland (PM) Classes will be divided for Rough and Smooth dogs and bitches. The First Place winners of these classes will be eligible for Best of Variety competition. Note: Chapter 11, Sect 8 of the Dog Show Rules provides that castrated males and spayed females may be entered in the Veteran classes at Independent Specialties. AKC National Owner-Handled Series The AKC National Owner-Handled Series is a non-titling competition for dogs that are exhibited by their owners that are not professional handlers. All dogs that are owner-handled and are not owned or exhibited by professional handlers*meet the requirements for this competition. Exhibitors must declare their dog is Owner-Handled eligible at the time of entry using the check box on the entry form. Eligible dogs will be identified by an asterisk in the steward s book & the catalog. Dogs must be handled throughout the breed level competition for the regular show by an eligible owner. Professional handlers, household members and assistants to current professional handlers may not exhibit the dog in any breed competition during the entire show. Owner-Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the dogs that are eligible to compete in the Best of Breed competition including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and winners of the non-regular classes. If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is Owner-Handled competition eligible, it will automatically be Owner-Handled Best Of Breed/Variety and be eligible to compete in both the regular as well as the Owner-Handled group. If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is not eligible for Owner-Handled competition and the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety is eligible, the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety will compete against the eligible exhibits of the other sex to determine Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety. If neither the Best of Breed nor the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety are Owner- Handled competition eligible and Select Dog & Select Bitch are both eligible, the judge is to choose Best Owner-Handled exhibit from the Selects and eligible Winners Dog or Winners Bitch.
